I've ONLY ever used the right shift key in my life - for the secondary functions of the numerical keys and this ? symbol - for actually typing out capital letters I've always used and always WILL use CapsLock. For me it's just as fast to press it once, type the capital letter and then press CapsLock again to release as it is for other people to hold left Shift (which my left hand simply can't do, despite trying hard to train it)

I code all the time when I'm not gaming and can't overstate how important arrow keys are for me. Sucks that people want a bigger key they'd never use instead of something this important.

I truly recommend this laptop. This thing performs as it should and provides a great experience. It doesn’t get loud and even the lowest config provides a great gaming experience. It may have a high price tag but after going through multiple cheap laptops with similarly specked components I can tell you quality is important and can be found in the razor blade 15.
A bit late but I was thinking about getting the advance and should I be informed of any problems I heard a few about the charger dying
@@Frostknight231 I've had the RBA'21 for a few months, no issues so far except one - battery life is dog poo. Like three hours. 4 hours if I try super hard. Not sure why.

Dave, another awesome video, thanks so much. I have been watching your videos on Razer since early January 2019 after I spend an hour in the Las Vegas Razer store and fell in love with them. I'm not a gamer, but run demanding 3D modeling software, travel the world and must have a thin, rigid, machined aluminum chassis computer. If not Razer, what do you recommend that has high performance CPU/GPU, 16gb ram with a milled aluminum chassis? I'm using a 17" plastic ASUS ROG machine now that is just OK, but a boat anchor.

It has a very clean look, sturdy build that can stand a bit of abuse, good specs with some upgradable components and decent i/o (for a modern laptop at least, extra points for a full-sized SD card slot).
If I were looking for a long-time laptop, I would definitely consider a Razer Blade.

8:24 If the WiFi card is the Intel AX201, that means it's using a CNVio connector (Intel's proprietary M.2 WiFi connector), while replaceable, you can only replace it with another CNVio WiFi card.
There is no reason to replace it whatsoever. Last thing i would replace it, unless its broken

@@gzarari Many people i know, that own dell laptops replaced their wifi cards because dell uses mostly killercards, which are designed for gaming -> udp packets take more bandwidth than tcp packets. Other companies make cards that prefer tcp which is for normal use better.

I’m patiently awaiting Rocketlake for my main build, also waiting for the furor of the new cards releasing to die down before I begin. My old PC is (literally) wheezing for dear life. One of my GPU fans is on the fritz and the sound of electronic death is in the air. Intermittent shutdowns and constant unpredictable behavior.
Don’t want to spend to fix it as I’ve been saving for a while for a new PC, but as I’m at $5k currently and it still looks like I’ll have another $2-3k saved before the stars align for a new DT, think I’ll drop on a laptop. Need CP2077 on the go/in bed.

Hi Dave, thanks for the review. I have been eyeing a Razer laptop for years now. I am uneasy about Razer's soft mining software. Is it installed on the newest Razer laptops as well? If so is there a fool proof method of disabling or removing it completely?
I have heard that though Razer sell the base model as single zone RGB but we can change it's settings to 4 zone RGB.

I don't know if i should use it plugged or if i should use it unplugged between 40% to 80 % and then plug it again.
I mostly use Cad and adobe apps for 6 hours a day.

Hey Dave, I'm interested in the Base Model. At the moment I can buy it for around 1600€. Do you recommend buying a blade now? but miss the chance of rtx 3000, tiger lake and upcoming ddr 5 should boost performance much at same pricing. But do not want to wait another full year to get at the same pricing a better value. I could wait a few month but not sure when Razer can refresh and at what price.

those arent really gaming or special, i have the g4, i do a lot of cad and 3d model work, i dont think it is much different, but the keyboard sucks, the screens on those never go very bright (you can not use them outside) , HP laptop motherboards are bad and HP service is the worst, overall i am looking for a gigabyte aero now, seems like the best for me right now

But HP Now getting way behind and now I am looking to move other brands.
NEXT TV yep, i always had hp desktops, then bought My first laptop, Toshiba satelite in 2009 , after that one i bought a zbook g4 for cad work with a cuda card for 2,6k , also not happy with it, horrible screen , speakers and keyboard quality and now im looking for gigabyte or a razer with egpu . Gf has asus, also not happy with it. Its a hard world for laptop power Users

@@nexttvc i feel like if you want to edit vidoes or music especially you have to get an apple , and its worth it, they also have a longer life for that use. but for 3d rendering and cad work and the software around it, i can not use an apple or it would not be worth it for my use.so i have to look for brands that are a good middleground, but i had bad experiences with toshiba, dell , hp, msi , so now i have to search for better computers, i dont like to upgrade myself, i want an acceptable product out of the box

My Razer Blade 15 after 2 years and 2 months of amazing extra care with it just got a battery swelling... pretty common on this brand, so it seems... FFS... and yeah I use Dave to vent too...

Mine swelled after 1 year, sent it in to get the battery replaced. 1 Year after that, it's swelling again, planning to just build a pc instead :v

Hey guys I have a question regarding the vapor chamber on the advanced model. I noticed at 1:56 that the advanced model no longer has the orange copper vapor chamber for 2020? Did they paint it black or put a film over it? I just found it odd compared to a 2019 model with the bottom cover unscrewed.
Would you recommend the 2019 razer advanced over the 2020 basic as they are around the same price?

I have the 2019 model with the RTX 2080 and it's a beast. Being able to play every game on ultra is pretty awesome to have on a mobile. Mine gets pretty hot though, sadly I don't think mine is undervolted from the factory. I've been thinking about doing it to see if I can get a few temps back.

Looking to get the base model with RTX2070 for the extra storage capability. About US$250 bump in NZ for the OLED 4k compared to IPS FHD, I am quite sensitive to flickering screens. Thanks
You're absolutely right about laptop speaker! I got my Zephyrus G14 and was shocked by the quality of its speakers. Apart from specs, I also look for the quality of sound the speakers produce. I'll buy a Razer once they give it a good set of speakers.
Have you had issues with your G14 though? I've had mine for less than a year and the CPU thermal throttles like crazy, so damn disappointed. Think I'm gonna get this laptop, honestly.
@@garrett3108 The only issue I have is that after extensive use, the fan noise is a little loud. Even on silent. Apart from that, I can't fault it.

I'm still running on the same 14 one, but the experience was only great for half a year. After that the noise has been getting on my nerves and two months ago the battery swole up. Yesterday I found out that the mouse buttons do not work anymore.
Doesnt matter that Razer products are slim and nice looking if they die in a matter of two years.
Highly dissappointed and I would never buy Razer again.

Because of you I’m looking into this laptop, I was going to buy a MacBook Pro but if I can get a good windows laptop made out of aluminum I would but these do look good and I like the quality of it. Some video editing and photography work with some coding I think this will be nice, although I’m looking to get a the Mac so I can run both widows and Mac. OS but it’s great to see something like this out there, I wish they had a backlight in their logo as well but its all good if I can still get something made solid and thanks for the information. If I do buy it I’ll definitely swing by and let you know. Thanks again. Great job here.

In mathew moniz's review he mentions that the advanced model is locked via the bios at 80c and it in a way reduces performance.
Yes it's true but with that vapour chamber it manages to perform almost as much and even better (than its competitors)

Okay, so I'm seriously considering purchasing one of the 2020 15 Blades. I'm a videographer who shoots in 4k, and jumps between AE and Premiere quite often and wouldn't mind playing a game or two here and there. Which model do you think would be best for me? Any help would be appreciated it.
Got a used razor base model today at Best Buy for 1,400 something and I’m so pleased with it!!! It only has the tiniest scratch so it was definitely worth the hundred or so dollars I saved when overtime computers don’t stay pristine anyways!! My bf got the advanced model also used with another small ass scratch that took down the price! There were only these two available in the entire store, for razor laptops so I think we got super lucky today 🤍 it’s like there was meant to be two just for us waiting!!!! We didn’t want to order our gaming laptop online because we impatient lol and also we have crazy neighbors who have sadly fucked with our packages in the past
Thank you for this review now I feel like I made a good solid decision for the money I spent! I’m a girl who doesn’t know the tech side of stuff much, but I love playing the sims with all expansions lol and that’s mainly why I need a laptop like this aha and I do dabble in other games too!!

A quick question, Should I buy Razer 2020 Base Model with i7-10750H 2070 maxQ super ($1899) which comes with 512TB SSD + 16GB RAM or Razer 2020 Advanced Model with i7-10875H 2070 maxQ SUPER ($2399) which comes with 512GB SSD + 16GB . I play games like overwatch, apexlegends, Dota2, league of legends and some latest games. I also use the laptop for adobe cloud nonprofessional usage like photoshop, ljghroom and premiumpro .

What refresh rate of screen did you get?
@@MrShroombot I got the 240 Hz 1080p. Color accuracy is great, very smooth. Cant find a game that the 2070 maxq can actually max out the frame rates on yet lol...
Regarding undervolting at 6:47, I have a Blade Stealth Late 2019 GTX model with 10th-gen CPU. From what I've read about undervolting it/10th-gen Intel CPUs in general, it does sound like what you can do with them is more limited at the moment compared to older CPUs (I didn't know anything about undervolting before I got this, so I don't have any experience with that), but it can still be undervolted using ThrottleStop (although probably not by very much). So I would have thought this would be the same?
I have mine at -60.5mV on CPU Core and CPU Cache, going lower than that made it freeze occasionally but this has been stable for months now.
