Fun to see how your setup has evolved! I remember being inspired by one of your earlier setups when you were backpacking around the US and wanted to be able to pack everything in your trunk so that it didn't look like someone was living in the car while parked at trailheads. Always loved how you kept a very neat and tidy black/gray aesthetic. Still got that going, I see. Love how organized everything is, lots of great ideas here. Thanks for the tour!
Looks like a great NO Build approach! We went the same route in our van and could not be more thrilled with our decision! The ability to change things up as needed is a great option! Happy travels!
Your setup is well thought out and fits your car nicely. Thanks for taking us on a tour of your camping set up! It has given me lots of good ideas for my future setup. =)
Great setup! I just purchased the Subaru Ascent and am looking to outfit it for long trips. No build is critical for me and I don't want to alter the car either. You've given me so many great ideas! Thanks for the video. Your channel was a no-brainer subscribe! 👏🤙
:) Thanks for taking the time to make this very practical video. I was living full time in my self build VW camper van (RIP) and now, 5 years later, I'm setting up my BYD Atto3 for road tripping/camping. I've kept all the gear from the VW so I can go shopping in my shed for most of what I need. The only things I've bought has been one of those new tailgate tents, a mini rice cooker and mini egg bite maker. My car is one big battery, so no need for gas stove. I'll also be taking a one person flip out tent to use as a shed/campsite holder.
One thing I have to say… You have an expensive taste and you have also a very classy style for a nomad. Many van dwellers or car dwellers that I’ve seeing thus far, have a messy multiple colors tacky style but you are different and that is why I love your channel. You are brave, truly adventurous and a beautiful personality. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Thank you for this - I anticipate having a similar no build approach and your table idea is so smart! I recently purchased an Ecoflow power station and it's quite small for how much power it has and it charges up really fast! You might check those out. Thanks again!
Brilliant video!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your car? So we can hear how it sounds! 🎉
Nicely done! Are you washing your hands in the same sink that you wash dishes? At our off grid cabin my shower system is a two-liter bottle with a hiking shower spicket from amazon. It's rubber with holes in the top that fits over the bottle. I fill it with warm water and it works. We love our Jackery power brick also.
Very well thought out set up! I plan to do something very similar with my SUV. Thank you for sharing! I’ll just be an occasional camper, but if I do longer trips, I may join Planet Fitness.
Wow, very well organized and thought out. I’m sure it took some time to dial this in, but you have. I have an outback so it feels too short height wise to attempt this, but I’ll certain,y at least try sleeping in it. Others have while I’ve been backpacking or something. Though I love tent camping, I know the need to have other options when necessary.
Looks great but I thought I would mention that I think that you have your bed upside down? Usually the upholstered part is meant to be down on the ground and the soft cushy bamboo part is what you lay on.
Thanks for the storage box info. I went to target and picked them up today. I have been looking for a solution to fill the gap between front and backseat for months it's perfect ❤
I was thinking the same thing too. I have 2 of those trifold mattress and the bamboo side is the side where you are supposed to sleep and the opposite side is the bottom and has a better grip on the floor where you place it on.
Using that table to make the bed more even, doesn't that create an edge you feel when sleeping? I like the idea, but seems like it would be uncomfortable. Hope to hear your thoughts on that soon. I've been considering a wedge mattress that would make the sleeping "platform" perfectly level, but have yet to find one that is just 24 x 72. Very helpful video!
You’re my inspiration !! I’m going to retire less than a year and I was looking at a Toyota or Honda (2015-17) minivan or a 2017 Foster Must better sound proofing and a few upgrades then the 2016 year Do you like yours and any suggestions who be a blessing And about 25 years ago I was houseless.. not homeless But houseless for about 9 months Did what you did and you can not put a price on peace and mentally getting away from those things that hurt you in a bad situation. Freedom and reconciliation with yourself to be a beacon of light to knowing yourself again so you (everyone) and I can take back what was stolen from you.. Stolen from you can mean so many things Past hurt from people.. Remember Hurt People-Hurt People !!! Knowing that is powerful.. Or stolen from you could be a lost of a job or can’t afford these crazy rent prices that are happening to force people into making decision for people to live in a vehicle.. I consider those who travel and choose to live in there vehicle inspiration.. Thank you God’s Protection Greg
Thank you for your message Greg. I'm happy with my vehicle. I wouldn't say the sound-proofing is great at all. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the towing capacity. Being able to tow a small trailer would really open up my future possibilities.
Thanks for this very informative tour! The video shows your folding table at 38.5 inches on each side, but the link goes to a table at 34 inches on each side. Can you clarify which size you actually use?
Thinking to do a road trip with camping in the car instead of going to the hotel. Wet wrap probably good for cleaning body 😅 but I am more afraid of safety since some guy could take advantage of a woman by herself at a place with no others around. What kind of self defense do you recommend? I am thinking to get a hand gun 😅
I think, this is just perfect without any worshop and power tools.. my purpose to do 5-6 week road trips, and this is just perfect! Your fridge looks too large. Does it consume too much power? And what's the price
I haven't tried so I don't know. I just use the car to cool it down while driving then I keep it closed. It wouldn't last for a many days at camp so, a battery upgraded is needed for that reason as well.
That table is a perfect size for under a trifold pad/mattress. Could you please put the link where you got it? And a recommendation on how to use less water when washing up out on the road. I use few drops of No Rinse body wash to a spray bottle filled with water. Sprays on sudsy depending on how many drops you use. But the best thing about it you can just wipe it clean off the skin! I see too many vanlifers using that antibacterial sanitizer for germs when just plain old soap (no rinse, of course), and water will do the trick even better👍. That sanitizer liquid doesn't get all the germs off. Worse, germs that are left behind build resistance and become super germs! It's science. Look it up. But for those that don't believe in science (I hear there's quite a few nowadays), I figure you'll just pass. Whatever.
I don't spend much time in cities. I only really find myself in a city to either visit someone I know or because I want to experience the city, which usually involves eating at restaurants.
Did you enhance your suspension in your car to accommodate the extra weight? I did not and ruined my tires, they wore out on the inside because the weight bugged down the suspension, which was not stiff enough.
The table thing is my issue right now. The gap being like 2-3 in my trunk and my camping cooking chuck box kitchen thing sitting too low. Thanks for showing that, I am still trying to figure out the best rig. I have the Luno mattress but just got a memory foam cot mattress to try instead. Main issue is the back problems I have. Thanks for the video!
I use to keep Van Der Kolk's book with me everywhere as well. That book helped me to understand myself and my trauma unlike anything I've come across.

I think also mobile personal bidet can help, it removes need to shower frequently. They look like water bottles
Or using a peri bottle like women who have given birth use after
I know this is not the subject of the video . But I love your voice and you easy on the eyes too! Great Subi concert also!
Love how neat your interior is.magnetic accessories for your fridge to to your large water bottle and collapsible sink

Very nice setup. Thanks for a clear, no nonsense approach. Great vid!
That table idea is just the kind of idea i needed for my own build! thank you!
:) Thanks for taking the time to make this very practical video.

I love your bed thats a great idea! Your whole build is well thought out and I love the lady postcard on your fridge. Thanks for sharing. :)
Great video. Your organization is perfect! Thanks for sharing❤
Thanks for watching
Love how clean and organized you have things.
Thanks for sharing!! I'm planning a one month trip living in my VW tiguan this winter, so I'll be taking notes from your setup!
Simple, clean and efficient setup! Love it!
Love this video, very practical but clever! Thankyou for sharing! ❤
Love this! I have a minivan and don't want to ruin it for regular use after camping out of it.
Right on!

Aww thanks! Unfortunately, I do have expensive taste. 🤦🏼♀️ ha!
@@nomad_unknown It’s an awesome thing to have a great taste😂

Does that small Energizer power your fridge? You've given me a lot of good ideas, especially the storage pockets!
Well done friend...
Stay flexible and keep your
adventurer's spirit intact. 👍
Really great video & tips. I also have a Subaru Forrester and this video gave me so many good ideas. Thank you so much😄
Check out the ecoflow 600. And you can charge it solar or 🔌 or cigarette 12v lighter as you drive. 4 yrs now, it's awesome.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll check it out!
Brilliant video!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your car? So we can hear how it sounds! 🎉
Very good! I love how neat, clean, and uncluttered your set up is. I'd want to do something similar if and when the time comes. 😊😊😊

I was thinking the same thing too. I have 2 of those trifold mattress and the bamboo side is the side where you are supposed to sleep and the opposite side is the bottom and has a better grip on the floor where you place it on.
I love it all!! Great job.
Good luck, happy to be like number 1000. 😊
Nice implimentation very well done and practical

Hello. Interesting build you got with helpful tips. Is that a fridge or cooler? If it’s a fridge, how do you power it? Also, do you have a pee bottle?

That’s a great setup, well thought through. Well done.
HEY GIRL, YOU SET UP YOUR MATRESS UP SIDED DOWN...THE COOLING BAMBU FABRIC IS THE TOP OF THE NATRESS AND THE MESH GRIP IS THE BOTTOM OF IT...
🤔JS
I don't like it like that. It's usable either way.
Thanks for the video!

Thanks, great info.
How does your small battery support your fridge?
How do power the frig?
Love your set up! Does your energizer battery power your fridge? Thx!

Hi! All products are linked in the video description. I've used No Rinse before and it seemed effective but I mostly just use soap and water.
NICE
Thanks for the video! What is the year make and model of your SUV?
Thanks for watching! It’s a 2017 Subaru Forester XT Premium.
@@nomad_unknown You’re welcome & thank you! I too have a forester, but mine is not premium.
Love it
How do you set up your “ kitchen “ ,if you are in the city ?,
I don't spend much time in cities. I only really find myself in a city to either visit someone I know or because I want to experience the city, which usually involves eating at restaurants.
U have a good taste... From India
Single and rein are the same size
From India....great....
Smart living 😊❤😊
You have a very soothing voice. Have you ever considered getting into voice acting?
Thank you for saying that. 😊
What do you do for a consistent income source?
I do seasonal work so my income is inconsistent but I budget/ spend so that I cover my expenses when I'm not working.
Nice ❤
Did you enhance your suspension in your car to accommodate the extra weight? I did not and ruined my tires, they wore out on the inside because the weight bugged down the suspension, which was not stiff enough.
I haven't upgraded my suspension but it's my plan to get it looked at soon.
Honey I have a 100amp hrs reinergy battery if you would like to have it. I've got no use for it and it's under 1 yr old
Honey?
@terrydavis5223 we're do I send it to for you to get it?? 😀
@terrydavis5223 sorry wrong. Person
Since this video was filmed I’ve upgraded my battery and I have my needs covered. Thanks for the offer!
❤❤❤❤.....
No hot shower.
Just hot weather...and fresh water...😊❤

I’m wishing you the best on figuring out a sleep system!
Try a pillow between knees when side sleeping and a pillow beneath knees when back sleeping.
🙏👍😊
Talk less. So organised!
