    I'm a big fan of simple or no builds (that's what I have). This has a good use of space and the pull drawers doubling as added counter space is definitely a game changer. As for your Renorgy panel if for whatever reason you get a secondary power source you could take bungee balls or bungee cords and strap it onto your roof rail both horizontally or vertical and get your charge on. Adventure on my friends!!

    Nice video. I have a Subaru Outback (went for length. Forester had higher headroom).
    I have the same Thule (too-leh is how I’ve heard it pronounced). Couple of comments.
    I believe that the Clam is a screen room not a tent. Tent implies more of a sleeping place that you can zip up and close the door. It’s 6’x6’ and would barely fit a cot.
    Mine came with two panels. I was able to buy two more and was trying to make a door by cutting one panel into two sections. Don’t think I finished it.
    The main thing I don’t like about the Clam is the weight and the packed length. I’m surprised the Clam fits inside that small roof box. I would have thought it would have to travel on top of the bed or strapped to the roof.
    I’m a hair under 5’ and find the Clam awkward.

    That moonroof computer fan(s) insert can also be designed to work in a car door window; a rear window. The fans can be powered by a small battery pack. I use corrugated plastic sheeting as the framework for the fans, it slides nicely into the window channels & it's weather proof.

      I think he said without it the interior light stays on for 20 mins & drains the car battery

    • @Gopepper
      @Gopepper 11 місяців тому

      It makes the car think the rear gate is closed. Otherwise there is a passive power drain on the battery for 20 minutes after opening which resets any time any other car door is opened. Without this hack, my car battery is dead after 3-4 days of boondocking.
