What's the appeal of the club? Is it just the exclusivity ? or is it a real good time?
nah it’s a real good time! the exclusivity helps, it weeds out unsavoury characters, but everything about it is amazing, from the opening times, sound system to the djs who play, it’s a really special place
The appeal is it's an underground techno club, I've been underground techno dj and event organisator, and most of these parties is about drugs and music (in that order). Getting wasted with similar minded people in a vague club. I been in many European clubs and never felt attracted to this Berlin club.

You are so right about clothing!! I bought and wear some Nakt Studio to try my luck at Berghain... BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!! The bouncer didn't hesitated a second. Back then I was into Sarah Landry and Nico Moreno. Took time to listen some sets and tracks and today enjoy even more Dj's like Rene Wise, Marrøn, DVS1, etc. My advice would be to learn a bit more about the music, the Dj's and the styles played at Berghain before trying out. If you do, I think it will seem more natural. For those who say black clothing is mandatory. I've seen people wearing orange camo.
