Does this thang put off wifi hotspot like a mobile hotspot or do i need Ethernet cables or does it do both? Im looking for unlimited hotspot im considering the 100gb mobile hotspot plan
update= with Straight talk home internet I get between 200-261 download speeds and 17-20 upload speeds no taxes or fees no buffering unless you are using an (illegal app with heavy traffic) otherwise the service is great.
Since there's no display screen on the router how do you know if you're receiving a 5G signal from the Tower or a 4G signal? Everytime I run a Speedtest I get 100mbps download and 9 to 10mbps upload.
Does anyone know how to update the firmware and also I'm trying to get the straight talk router to only act as the connection however run the actual connection through my tp link archer ax a800 as its wifi 6 and the straight talk router is only 5 and well my router has more power then straight talk router, so if anyone knows how to do that efficiently, because it's fussy everytime I connect the router via Ethernet it does beef up to speed and has more solid connection however when I try to go in my actual router page from tp-link it keeps routing back to the straight talk router page and I have to reset my tp-link router like factory reset that I can get back in it does to see the operation routes back to the same page ita annoying

I currently have a device that I use for my Semi Truck that is setup with T-Mobile Home Internet but I also want to use it with something connected to the Verizon towers when I'm in places where T-Mobile just doesn't exist. Does that IMEI check deny devices from connecting to the service unless it's their specific device?

I have. a answer for you it’s simple find a Walmart in your city or the next biggest city that carry it in store write the zip code for that Walmart then buy the router then download the Zillow app out in the zip code from the Walmart and choose any address under that zip code and it will work!! I activated 4 like this from Dallas to Austin
Technically yes if you know of someone that qualifies for Verizon home internet if they do then they would also qualify for Straight Talk home internet since it uses the Verizon network. But keep in mind that it is technically against TOS to take home internet out of the address it was assigned to when you signed up since you might run the risk of having the account suspended. But according to reports I haven’t seen any enforcement of that policy. You might ask “why does Verizon do this?” It’s because Verizon towers or any other carriers towers nationwide only have so much capacity and once a tower is up to capacity, it can’t handle no more. And as of writing this Verizon or any of the other carriers right now simply don’t have the capacity needed to accommodate fixed wireless access at a national level only at a regional/local level or where they see fit.
I'm in the Sam's boat straight talk says this isn't available at my house but our phones are straight talk and Verizon so I think I'm gonna get the straighttalk home internet and see if it works

🤔 Straight Talk throttles home internet to 100 mbps down and 10 mbps upload on their C-band 5G Ultra Wideband. And video streaming is throttled to 1080p but that’s based on fast.com which uses Netflix servers and Straight Talk identities fast.com as streaming Netflix and therefore throttles your speed. I’ve heard that actual Verizon home internet is unthrottled. Hopefully Straight Talk has a Premium plan that has un-throttled speeds and an entry level plan that’s speed capped or better yet straight talk needs to get rid of the speed cap entirely if they want to stay competitive with other fixed wireless ISPs

If Straight Talk wants to remain competitive with T-Mobile Home Internet, Metro by T-Mobile Home Internet (Prepaid), and Verizon Home Internet, they need to get rid of the speed cap of 100 down & 10 up and the 720p/1080p speed cap for video streaming they impose on home internet. I don't know if Metro has speed caps on their home internet or not, and T-Mobile does not have any speed caps that I know of. Verizon Home Internet is $60/mo. or $50/mo. with autopay or $25/mo. with no speed caps if you have one of their 5G plans. T-Mobile and Metro are $55/mo. or $50/mo. with autopay and $30/mo. if you're on T-Mobile's Magenta Max Plan. My point being if Straight Talk removed the speed caps on their home internet, they would be the fastest and cheapest available on prepaid, sure it's cheaper if you're an existing customer on a postpaid plan. But if Straight Talk is your only option, then it would blow the others out of the water should they remove the speed cap.

Plug the router in via ethernet. It's not against the law to use your own router. Just like any isp you plug your modem in via ethernet.
After you put the imei in how long did it take to see if you can have internet at your location

It was automatic on the spot once they say you have a spot you have 30 days to sign up or you risk losing your place.

Straight talk seems pretty lax on they're policy's hence I use my hotspot even tho I don't technically have hotspot data on my phone

How is the service for gaming?
Gaming is awesome I’m just n my Xbox one X and no hiccups and I’m on Wi-Fi right tried it on Ethernet and it was even better

Password is on the bottom of the router also the login to get into the router along with the imei and acc ID (sim) number
