    Thanks for the info and suggestions! T-Mobile business internet took two calls, getting transferred 10 times, to finally get someone that new what they were doing. I opened it up under my social and told the person I worked with that I was using a Peplink, and she said that was great as it’s a supported device. SIM showed up next day.

    Thanks for the ideas. I have T-Mobile Business 5G which works great, but just wanted to note that I was able to get Verizon 5G to work automatically. I actually pulled the SIM out of my iPad Mini 6. At my current location Verizon 5G is pretty slow, but LTE is screaming fast especially the upload speeds, which are regularly between 30-40Mbps. Great info that’s helped me build a rock solid system aggregating Starlink, T-Mobile and Verizon. BTW: I am using a Peplink Max BR1 Pro 5G using Speedfusion for Teams and WebEx.

      As far as reception, it going to be almost impossible to beat the t mobile gateway. I've been doing some serious research on the Nokia fastmile gateway. Those things have some unreal db gain. They use a phase array type set-up that uses all the internal antennas to aim the frequency beam automatically. This explains why adding external antennas isn't working all that well except in very weak areas. However you'd be better off putting the gateway outside on a pole if that was possible. I'm currently in a dire situation to get something to work because t mobile informed me I'm connected to the wrong tower. I'm connected to one that's 7 miles away that has n71 band. I'm supposed to be connected to the tower that's 2.5 miles away with n41 Band on it. However I'm 35 feet below the crest of a hill between me and the n41 tower. I've got to do something to clear that hill or there's a good chance t mobile will cut my service. If you start congesting a tower, it's gets there attention and you get to talk to someone who really knows what's going on.

    You also need to specifically pick Tmobile carrier so it shows only the Tmobile bands. The. For sim 1 it shows carrier Verizon and shows the 7-8 bands for Verizon.
    Any bands with n are C band which is the plans for towers that have a lot faster bandwidth for the tower sectors.

    just a little FYI in regards to Verizon Askey cube...you can do the opposite too. In my case, I bought an old Askey cube off eBay and put a Visible sim in it. Then ran it to a router that can do TTL and VPN. With PayPal discount, I'm getting the same Verizon service for $25 with Visible using this setup. Now to be honest I really only did this for the fun of seeing if it would work, don't know if I'll keep it long term. But so far it works fine. Able to stream games on MLB TV and stream TV on Philo with no issues at all. I can't speak as to how it would work with other streaming apps. Some won't work with a VPN, like Sling TV.

    verizon uses carrier aggregation on 4g (i believe tmobile does also) which combines the speeds of various frequencies to give you faster 4g speeds. I wonder if the peplink is not able to do carrier aggregation so when you test speeds on it you are only testing the speed of 1 lte carrier. In verizon case you were testing AWS on the 2100mhz spectrum which is why the speed is lower. Newer verizon approved devices can all do carrier aggregation for maximum speeds.
    Also, for CBAND on the peplink, did you try inserting the sim, turning off the peplink and leave it off for about 5 minutes and then power it back on and wait about 5 more minutes to see if you get cband?

  • @Gotmoniesification
    @Gotmoniesification Рік тому

    It’s called carrier aggregation when you have multi bands. If you click custom you can choose band 66 only and test which bands are the fastest. You also need tk enabke ping and out a public dns because that’s how it fails over between sims vs the smart option. Also it takes into account a top down approach. Band n71 is C band which is the usually the unlimited plans on Verizon. The band 66 is what the device anchors on for LTE but band 66 is usually what’s the fastest. So you can see the bands the device picks up so you don’t block say band 66 and that’s the only band you see and then it doesn’t come up.

    Question: Was wondering how you were able to display on the left your tablet screen? What software are you using?

    Nate I think you should try the Verizon sim in the "5G" modem. The reason being the "4G" modem is Cat7 and can only aggrigate 2 bands, while the other is Cat20 and may be able to aggrigate up to 5 bands. In theory if it does 5 bands your speeds should be segnificantly better. Something else to consider the Cat7 modem is limited to fewer bands than the Cat20, though I'm not sure if that is impacting your testing.

    I've been doing some research on the Nokia fastmile. It actually works like a phase array. The gateway aims the beam automatically using all the antennas. It's different from anything I've ever experimented with. I'm not sure the 4 way mimo antennas will work on this gateway correctly. If I remember correctly the gateway has over a 12 db gain antenna setup. Yagis usually aren't that good when you calculate in the coax losses even if you use the $1,400 coax. I'm trying to find a climate control small electronics box that doesn't restrict the frequency and put the gateway on a tower. Then use fiber from the tower to home. It looks like I'm going to have to build my own climate control enclosure. I have a tiny inverter ac compressor I could build an AC system for it.. I've got to do something. T mobile informed me I'm connected to the wrong tower. I'm connected to one that's 7 miles away and supposed to be connected to the n41 tower that's 2.5 miles away. But a hill is blocking me from that tower. I might end up losing the only internet available to me..

    The Peplink device is impressive and a little expensive, I own an sightly used Mofi 4500 that has many of the features like band locking,IP pass thru, port forwarding and band aggregation ect.
    thats collection dust now since T-mobile relleased its first gateway, my current internet connection. I would like to put the Mofi ( an expensive device at the time) back into service, and I understand 4G is it limitation. But a MOFI4500-4GXeLTE with band lock/aggregation can stillbe usefull. Any chance you or any one else has the same idea, but lacking the knowledge how to accomplish it?

      if its consistently slower during peak (afternoon/evening) hours then yes probably congestion driven. An antenna could help but depends on the situation. For example if you have more than one tower to connect to you could point the antenna at one that has less congestion. You could also get a 3rd party gateway and then lock to specific bands that have less congestion.

The only internet they can get right now is DSL, and the lines are so old, it only works some of the time. It seems Verizon and ATT cover their area, but neither officially support fixed wireless internet in their area because of lack of investment in the local infrastructure. "The plan you have now provides up to 100GB of data before you have the potential of prioritized speeds depending on congestion, etc. So, the plans with the additional data, could fare well for you considering you do use around 200GB per month (looking at last 3 months). "

      It's not TMO device but more of the Network Congestion. It's also had to do with distance from the serving cell and other factors. These channels don't explain cell signal strength and how distance can play a role with other factors and I wish they would so that way people can better understand that it's not always a network issue but how far from the location you are and what's in between. It's because all them Verizon Customer jump ship to head to TMO. Lot of people seen that T-Mobile's faster that they had more 5G locations and better college because of the Sprint merger two years ago but in fact T-Mobile's Network within the last couple months has actually slowly down 15 mobile home internet users but also interesting thing is T-Mobile doesn't have priority I'm at home internet they only prioritize phone users. How interesting thing is T-Mobile on Sprint and I heard for 2 years ago they claimed all of those extra towers which all needed to be upgraded which have still not been fully plus upgrade all of T-Mobile's existing sites they've also had two extra years before AT&t Verizon really started doing their 5G cross the United States but T-Mobile added all these new customers because their network was faster they had more 5G more towers etc over those two extra years and all the other carriers like AT&t and Verizon are playing the ketchup thing but all in all or Verizon has already extended their 5G launcher white van it's already find the 800 MB sometimes you people are hitting a thousand to 1500 megabytes per second on the download. TMO has slowed down from 300/150 in many places so Verizon will be at the top again it's just a late start

    This dude is awful 😖. The Verizon Device allows you to easy check your device signal by logging into it. You can also do port forwarding the device as well. Basically you only need you own wifi device because Verizon wifi dose not travel vary far.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  Рік тому

      Hey Jay 🐦 thanks for watching, check out my channel for more videos on Verizon Home Internet. Depending on the gateway you might get a signal strength in dB at best from verizon. It does not tell you the band or SINR or other very important details to get the best speed. Certainly if you are a basic user and just want "internet" there is no need to go away from the provided gateway. The port forward has basic features, not some of the more advanced settings other devices have and T-Mobile has zero port forwarding options.

      I have used the Inseego routers from their business plan and they work with a couple of caveats. 1. I consider this a home device, not enterprise level and we have to power cycle them at least once a week. 2. you can hook up external antennas, but they only support certain bands with external antennas connect. Those supported bands were not available in the areas where I needed them for my production sites.

      I just finished testing the FX2000 for the past week. Unless you setup a business account with an EIN and obtain a static IP address, you are going to run into the same issues that you experienced with the Arcadian. I used the FX2000 with a Sol Prop business account which still had a dynamic IP however, the dynamic IP in my case was not local to my city or state. I would bounce back and forth between Chicago, Kansas and sometime Minnesota which created a number of issues. The port forwarding and IP pass-through feature was configurable but without a static IP address had the same limitations as the Arcadian due to CGNat. Honestly, without a static IP address it is not worth the time. None of my servers (7 in total) were reachable outside my network. If you are seeking a business account with EIN to get a static IP then wait until the Cradlepoints are back in stock. I have since terminated my T-mobile accounts and have gone to fiber as the backbone of my network. T-Mobile's business support is the worst I've experience to date and mostly off-shored. Hope that helps.
