I completely resonate! OMG, I'm always in awe to watch and hear her out. Ahh, a treat - well researched questions, interesting follow-up queries and just the twinkle in her eye portrays her passion towards her job and craft 👍🏻😍
But he hardly made any original movie. I loved the movies Guzarish as well as Black. However later I was pained to see that these movies were copied from Hollywood.
I could listen to him talk about his work for hours- there will never be another director like him-his impact is truly irreplaceable He's in a league of his own 💯🔥
Every film journalist and these so called "podcasters" should learn from Anupama mam how to engage in a fluid conversation. She is a masterclass with her calmness and absolute respect she gives each and every person she interviews. Lovely session and yes please interview Shahrukh Khan if possible, only you can hold a conversation with him.
Thanks for all your commendable work over 30 years, Anupama ji.. More power, strength and positivity to you. Kindly, interview Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan as well!
SRK is consciously avoiding media interviews ever since the TV trial of his son. If you notice, he only does film promotional interviews with the production house of his film. And I think he is fully justified in doing so. Based on his past relationship with Anupama, he may agree to speak to her but I think he will decide if and when to emerge from this media boycott that he is practicing at this moment.

What a masterpiece story teller. . Glued to this conversation from the first go. . . He is indeed, the true lover of Indian Cinema, the emotions that he carried with each of the scenes that he has explained here.. . Brilliant!!! Hats off ♥️♥️♥️👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Every word he said resonated so deeply with me, about art, where art comes from, what art truly is here to do in this world and why it's so important, now more than ever. As a performance artist, it means the world to me to be hearing him affirm everything I feel within as I develop and share my craft.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali: A Visionary Director and Living Legend Introduction to the Master Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali stands as an institution in himself, a true artist in the world of Indian cinema. His work goes beyond just storytelling, painting vivid pictures that remain etched in the minds of audiences. With an eye for perfection and a heart full of love for the craft, he has redefined filmmaking in India. A Director Like No Other Bhansali is not just a director; he is a creator of worlds. His movies aren't merely films but are visual symphonies filled with music, dance, emotions, and vibrant colors. Every frame he directs speaks of passion, detail, and elegance, making his storytelling truly unique. A Cinematic Experience Unlike Any Other Watching a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie is akin to witnessing a masterpiece come to life. The blend of light, camera work, and emotion weaves together stories that transcend time and culture. His films offer more than entertainment-they provide an emotional journey, full of depth and love. A Legend in Indian Cinema Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s contribution to Indian cinema is unparalleled. Every project he touches becomes a reflection of his dedication to art. He remains a living legend, influencing generations of filmmakers with his creativity, passion, and unmatched artistry. Conclusion Listening to Bhansali’s insights and watching his films multiple times feels like experiencing art in its purest form. To the finest filmmaker of our time, we express our love and admiration for bringing such beauty and emotion to the screen.
Somebody need to go and tell SLB what a legend he is. he is no less(I understand comparison is not suitable) than any big director like Nolan/sorcesse.
We love him in AFRICA as well …he’s up there with other great directors ( James Cameron,Scorsese,Spielberg,Tarantino) and there are more things he does better than them !
Hi Anupama you have made me appreciate and watch cinema from a critical lens... In my 20s I only watched movies for the sole purpose of entertainment but I admire the way you conduct interviews ...so nuanced... To the point where I pretend I'm a guest and attempt to answer your questions in the shower... You've introduced me to Malayalam cinema to a pseudo Mallu like me... Wish you nothing but the best...
Still remember Devdas movie, classic movie, beautiful dialogues kaun kambakht bardaasht karney ko peeta hai etc., used to mimic in engineering days...great director, great movies❤❤
Firstly Congratulations Anupama Ma’am. I really like each and every interaction with Sanjay Sir. It’s always so insightful. As he said nobody talks about the choreography of his scenes. Don’t you think u should do a series abt it? It will be so much interesting from where and wht has inspired him till how he has executed it. I’m a big fan it will be such a treat to see decoding it.
Please do an interview with Shahrukh Khan,Anupama Chopra ji. You are the only interviewer who can ask him quality questions unlike the traditional ones.
He’s really a treat to watch his interviews have these details that every young filmmaker should learn and watch to feel like in depth of a filmmakers vision and point of view ❤ 00:00
I love Anupama interviewing my favourite celebrities. I wish there was also some personal questions to Bhansali, his favourite movies of present, and his niece Sharmin performance in Heeramandi too
THR India, this was a good interview and I like both of them. (Following Anu since FC) But this opportunity with SLB could've gone to next level if it was Vinod Chopra asking the questions for example. So many filmmaking gold nuggets would've sparked out from that conversation. FC was a startup, and I guess had budget constraints understandably. But this is THR that has the brand muscle and financial wherewithal to get one filmmaker to interview another filmmaker with THR Talks. As an example, Director's Chair interviews by Robert Rodriguez. Pure Gold! The depth & perspective a fellow filmmaker could bring to the questions he asks another filmmaker, nothing can match that. THR India can take this as a well intentioned feedback. Needless to say, this is good content too. Keep them coming.
SLB's best is yet to come because the Director after so many years is so passionate about his Work. After Khamoshi & HDDCHS there has been an downward slide in his Cinema. Gangubai & Heeramandi are his worst works. We hope that SLB's future works justify his craft and passion.
SLB is one of the greatest film makers of indian Film industry, bcz he one of the few film makers who experiment with movies and he doesn't make movies for commercial success but as per his conviction and thought process which may or may not appreciated by the audience.
no directors have presented Manisha Koirala as solid as Sanjay leela bhansali... hope he doesn't wait another eons year to make another collaboration. ❤❤
I am waiting for SLB to collaborate with Kangana. He would really utilise her talent to the fullest. It will be something special from artistic point of view.
After watching Devdas movie in theatre I had PTSD that lasted till today. What a loud fucking movie with OTT performances. He made the same movie with different sets ever since.
Too much praise for ranbir when ranveer is the one who played fantastic roles

i like slb and his older movies (pre-Ram Leela) a lot. devdas is my favourite movie of his (quelle surprise). actually i love all his collaborations with aishwarya rai: hddcs, guzaarish too. i really wish they'd work together more. she possesses that otherworldly beauty and grace that he wants to show in his heroines: mastani, alamzeb, padmavati (i like deepika too though so nothing against her!). in his later movies, i like ram leela and gangubai a lot. ranveer singh in ram leela is so beautiful to watch. watching him in that movie made me realise for the first time just how beautiful a man could be. i don't think i was aware of how delicate and beautiful masculinity could be before ranveer decided to walk across that balcony in ang laga de re. he seems very greco roman in depiction but also very desi because of the slight touch of femininity in his characterisation and mannerisms. i haven't seen michelangelo's david irl but i imagine that seeing him would evoke in me similar emotions that seeing ranveer in ram leela does. i am looking forward to heeramandi 2 only if it is to look at beautiful dresses and beautiful women dancing gracefully. idk these days there is such a lack of depiction and celebration of femininity in movies. it's all just action thrillers and i guess some people like that. not my cup of tea. please find a way to bring back bibbo jaan. i don't care if you have to pull a mihir from kyunki saas bhi. i want aditi rao back. edit: i would love to watch a conversation between slb and karan johar. i think they both are very unique and interesting individuals who are also very creative and obsessed with the idea of love (although in different ways). i would like to know what they think about each others' movies and movies in general.
