"Main to bol raha hun usko laa do wapas. Usko leke aao. Leke aao yaar." Shoojit da.... How you said these words... ❤ It was.... Can not express my .... Love you sir❤ Thank you Sandish for interviewing this great Director. Irrfan Khan ❤❤❤❤
This is one of those rare interviews where you feel sad when it ends. The conversation was just so real and free flowing, that you just feel like listening to it without any end. Just loved to peep into the brilliant mind of Mr. Shoojit Sircar. Great job Samdhish and team.❤️
Shoojit Sircar is so underrated.. just looking at the films he has made he should be given more airtime like this interview did. Simple yet great insight into his body of work in films.
Yaar, I miss Irfan even more now. And, Shoojit is one of my favourite directors (worldwide). Samdish bhai, this was something else. Thank you for this.
the way samdish asks questions that satisfies his hunger to know more about things he plans to pursue in future, and things which might satisfy viewers who think alike, is so commendable. more commendable is how, we still continue to have a bunch of wholesome audience interested in watching interviews like these.
Love the interview. Thanks Samdish. I remember meeting Soojit Sircar in Kolkata Airport Longe long back. He dropped his boarding pass and I happened to pick it up and giving it back to him. I realised later that he was Mr. Sircar!
Lovely lovely. Kya hi boluñ😊😊. I have been to Jallianwala twice in 20 years. The chaos that they have done and made out of this memorabilia by introducing thoughtless light and sound shows are saddening. Shoojit Sarkar just caught my feelings; it was uncomfortably eerie in Jallianwala. Not anymore. Why do we have to renovate everything to the extent to make them look like new!!!!
I felt that the last 20 mins of this conversation was very thought provoking and people from any profession and walks of life can take queues from this. Once again congratulations to Samdish for conducting a great interview.
Samdish, thank you. Thank you not only for doing this conversation, but for bringing out one of the best interviews ever. Probably there are very few such interactions/videos, where I haven't felt any urge to pause in between. The conversation flowed and took this viewer along with it. Brilliant!
Samdish bhai, I would've given infinite loves and likes if I could. Just listening to Shoojit sir is a therapy and spiritual. Huge admiration. And thank you for the conversation.
Although there are so many MEMORABLE SCENES from SHOOJIT SIRCAR'S MOVIES but for ME, the SCENE that stands out is from SARDAR UDHAM where VICKY KAUSHAL is in JAIL and talking to the BRITISH LAWYER explaining JALIANWALA BAGH SEQUENCE and in the ending lines says,"KABHI ROOH KO SHAREER SEY ALAG HOTE DEKHA HAI AAPNE?". That one line sums up the whole emotion behind SARDAR UDHAM. Great Director and Great Interview by SAMDISH keeping it unfiltered as always. ❤😊🎉
One of the best interviews... Touched not only about film-making but also about the philosophy of life in general ... October is one of the purest love stories.. But I didn't realise that he had put as much thought in Vicky donor as he did.. I can listen to Shoojit talking the whole day ... We need Shoojit " conversing" (as he calls it) with us more often about life.
The varun story gave me chillis , This is how you direct good films with average actor if the director is good he make is actor a character that is only in his mind.
@suraj250684 what ! Badlapur director Shri Ram raghvan which has theatre background and he made even Katrina acts in Mary Christmas and direct films like andhadhun .
@RohanSharma-tq5jg And u think without an actor being capable the actor can deliver?. And Katrina was adequate, Varun was actually very good in Badlapur. There is a big difference.
@@suraj250684 iam not saying the are bad performer ,iam saying they only became great if they work with the good directors for example when varun Dhawan work with creators like David dhawan and Karan johar Cannot compete with Varun that works with shujit sircar but this is totally different with great performers like Ranbir h can pulloff massey performances as well as the grounded roles.
@ It is the requirement of the character is it not? He has to play to the crown in those movies. If he can deliver stellar performances in the hands of good directors then it means the audience acceptance is shaping Varun's choices. Look at the Citadel trailer, for example, he seems to have given a great performance there as well, Bhediya too was very good. So it's not just the director's credit as u appeared to imply. You can say that he needs to work on better movies and we as an audience need to encourage this!
Why did they not talk about Shoojit's first film "Yahaan"!? It was a beautiful film from Shoojit. It was first movie to be in frey shade in Indian movie industry.
When shoojit talks abt irrfan feels like a poetry, beautiful interview again by u bring out the core of any person.Thank you samdish please make more interview like this .
Thank you, Samdish! This was the perfect Bengali Adda - filled with thought-provoking discussions, technical analogies, and, of course, biryani. I absolutely loved it.
1:07:55 I'm a big fan of Madras Cafe and an avid reader about Sri Lankan Civil War, and trust me when I say this that it's THE BEST movie about the conflict. The best thing about that movie is, you've to take hints about the "hidden state" that provoked the war, and orchestrated the Assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. Do watch.
Shoojit did not tear up when he spoke about his late parents, but when he was speaking about Irfan's death, you could see real pain in him. That says a lot about the kind of person Irfan was.
If you someday want to make a film, and trying to be a storyteller. This interview is a masterclass by Shoojit Sir.. How this interview starts in a lighter note and matured with time is an example of brilliant editing. ❤
Really enjoyed.... Just like you said in today's world where everyone's into reels and shorts even I watch videos at 2x or 3x speed, but today i watched the whole interview at normal speed taking time and like he said in the end maybe it's because we don't get to have good conversations like this... Also, great fan sir ❤ thank you Samdish❤
Legendary Directors like Surjit Sarkar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Diwakar Banerjee will not go to interview people like BeerBiceps but will definitely interview Samdish Bhatia, this is the thing about Samdish Bhatia which makes him special from others ❤
Very proud of a filmmaker like dear Shoojit Sirkar ji. What an amazing person he is. His bond with dear Irrfan is so heart touching. Samdish 's podcast is so natural.❤❤
I am a film scholar from Bangladesh living in the USA. It was a great conversation. It was in depth and unearthed Sirkar's thoughts regarding cinema and his style of filmmaking. I got emotional the way he remembered the great Irrfan.
I so wanted Irrfan in this interview with Samdhish. RIP. Miss him utterly whenever someone mentions him, I go into a state of sadness. Love you Irrfan❤
When he started to speak about Vicky Donor Wedding scene, i felt like is this deja vu or i have seen him talking somewhere else the same thing. Beautiful to watch whole episode, very calm, and speaking about Irrfan khan friendship, made me feel like it should be a short but it's little longer for short but beautiful

I love every word of Shoojit in this interview and now I know why I could easily watch any of his movies. My favourite director of this current time for sure.
Man Samdish knows almost everything about each and every field. Some of those brilliant people who you can speak on anything. You don't just have basic idea of everything but also deep knowledge of that to ask, talk and question with person you are interviewing. Huge admirer of you bhaiya. Truly an inspiration. 💚
35:08 the reason why i immediately clicked the video when i saw thumbnail of samdish with Shoojit... i clicked immediately if there is any question about october movie and in the wait for that i watched whole interview and it is worthy .. THANK YOU SAMDISH.. LOVE
Here after watching the trailer of "I want to talk". I love his direction. The kind of movies he has directed are just pure love. Chaotic yet peaceful. Not much faaltu ka shor about his direction. Which is okay. Jisko jo dekhna hai dekho warna niklo.
I love the ease combined with deep conviction of Shoojit. An intellectual who carries it all very lightly. The variety of his work is astounding. As he spoke about meaning of cinema, I was struck by a thought, that now, I look every evening for engaging / stimulating art work and not entertainment in the conventional terms. It could well be an interview, like this one. And Samdish, you are the best at interviews. Thanks

Samdish u r doing A grade job ! Please remember! Itna faadu conversion nai dekha aaj tak iss channel par ..one of the very best interviews.... Shoojit da ❤❤
Oh! I was just scrolling through Instagram a few days back and I just saw a clip of this interview where he says ki yaar irfaan k bina nhi hoo paega ... Then I searched it and watched it. It was kind of soothing. It was easy to interpret even for an outsider. So yeah, well, one of the most amazing conversations❣️ wishing you more love and power.

this was the the second conversation after your Kashmir stories that I watched and gulped word to word. Hats off to your efforts , you also seemed to be engrossed in a few of the sections .
"What you want to do what you want to converse kisiko samjhana.." When one finds and recognizes this in a person, the mind just, is incapable, of letting that person go. It's in utter denial; irrespective of what the reality is and what the world claims and demands from it. I can relate hard with Mr.Shoojit here.🙂
Thank you for this Samdish
I love how Shoojit refers Irrfan in present tense.
😊
Irrfan is godly. I had exactly same lines as Shoojit, since the day he passed away. 😢
When you love someone, their passing away really does not make any difference ❤
Ofcourse his work is immortal.
I actually checked the video date to confirm if Im watching some old video
"Main to bol raha hun usko laa do wapas.
Usko leke aao. Leke aao yaar."
Shoojit da.... How you said these words... ❤ It was.... Can not express my .... Love you sir❤
Thank you Sandish for interviewing this great Director.
Irrfan Khan ❤❤❤❤
If we could do anything to bring him back ... Shoojit da, you are not alone.
20 minutes in it and i already know its my favorite interview.
I watched this comment exactly at 20th minute
Its bcz Shujit's energy and a smart interviewer

The conversation was just so real and free flowing, that you just feel like listening to it without any end.

It gives goosebumps listening about Irrfan... And how emotionally he express himself ❤
Deepika asking Shoojit if anyone shouts this much at parents is so wholesome 😂
True!😊
Uske baad samdish ne bola uska baap Prakash padukon hain vo thodi daantati hogi 😅
This man probably win Oscar if he is in Hollywood....I still can't get over "Sardar Udham" 🔥🔥
"Sardar Udham" could have won best foreign film if it went to academy.
@@nandansharma3923it did but it was deemed too much anti british
it was the best I have seen ..
oscars dont deserve such filmmakers, they only deserve shitty woke directors who pay to get nominated !

Arey man that would had been legendary episode 😢
Oh man, now i am randomly sad at 3 AM
