One of my close friends labelled me with this despite that I've alwayss tried my level best to be kind to others and not being the selfish one. Would wait for it!
I have almost negated lying in my life (95%). But what I feel is that our society doesn't accept that. For instance, I am unable to make commitments with someone and being honest and truthful, I politely say that I won't be able to ensure the actions. Rather than the other person accepts the truth, that very person is like you are being mean, at least you could had said YES and after said NO...
I too have similar problems. I keep hearing from my folks that so much honesty is not accepted by society. However, if I do the opposite I will be fake in my own eyes, my integrity is my ornament and I guess different people have different opinions and their perspectives will definitely differ. What is important is to know why am I doing what am I doing and to stick to it. Not in arrogance but in knowing that every individual has the right to interpret things in their way. And others have no business to change them. We can only change ourselves.
