A lot of people would love to have a little camp stove like this for power outages or outdoor cooking. Lovely bit of workmanship on this project. Thanks for sharing this video with us and please remember Texas is watching.
.....cleaning is a big part of restoration. Robert Murray Smith went through the hassle of sandblasting too ,then did a video building and using a sand tumbler barrel to clean his parts , then built a vibratory box with sand and his concoction added . There's also the pressure water blaster that sucks up sand for cleaning which he also did . ..I've never seen those bronze cylinders with cracks , I'm wondering if it's exposure to extreme cold and also lack of necessary alloying agents in 1920s Germany .

I stumbled on your restore project because of the fuel tank repair elsewhere. I see the effort to get back prime condition. All these restores I like a lot.
I have a small camp stove that I bought new 30 years ago. I’ve always loved it so I take good care of it. I had no idea these little stoves had been made since 1920! Yours is very cool!
Anyone ever seen Mr Patina and My Mechanics in the same place at the same time? If not... you sure they're not the same person? Just using a similar but different bench, similar but different vice, similar but different lathe, similar but different sand plaster, similar bu.... OK, so they are different people.
Well, both buy stuff with german labelling. However, MyMechanics says switzerland in his video location where Mr. P says Frankfurt... Assuming that is correct, if it were the same 2 people that'd be a heck of a lot of driving to switch locations...
I can really see the My Mechanics influence in your filming and editing. It's obvious where you draw your inspiration from.. nothing wrong with that! If anyone, he's the best. Came here from his cracked tank video! Love your channel

It’s like finding out your car could fly after driving it for 8 years. That alone earned a sub. Beautiful work and collab! Hmm, I have a very similar old Swiss stove that I’m going to have to, shall we say... “re-examine”.
Haha, very nice comparison! I agree, its pretty insane how much you can do with simple tools/materials. This process isnt too complicated, you just have to make sure that the metal is super clean before attaching the oil, and just attach a very thin layer. I did this 6 times, so it took about 25 hours to achieve this finish...and the wife was really mad, because the smell of the kitchen - so please be careful :-D Thanks for watching! :-)
