      Gasoline (white gas, not meant for car gas) burning stoves have been around for hiking and camping for decades. Coleman has a whole range of nice ones. Lamps with gas mantle can also run on it.

    I love how you restore these old items, so they shine like they're brand new. it's makes me look at other so-called restorations that are just cleaned and described as having "patina" as just being too lazy to fully restore things.

      I'm wondering if that's why the stove was never used, why the price tag was still attached. Maybe whoever bought it got called up and never made it home, and nobody realized the item was even in the barn until years later.

    I would like to buy one of these stoves new today. Beautiful, efficient, and obviously built to last. I think they would be very popular with people who camp, own a cabin, or as part of a grilling area at home.

    Very beautiful antique stove, but now I think looks better than when it was released from the factory! And that knife man, I definetly need one for my outdoor trips. Keep up the good work!

    And thanks for the discovery of this stove, it's very clever. We used to do some nice things in France, a century ago.
    (won't repeat myself about the camera work, even outdoor (oops, end half spoiled), it's very artistic...)

    The framerate with the sandblasting at around 04:21 and onwards for some reason makes it look like it's all stopmotion, is it just me?
    Also, this burner is so cool. What I love about it is that it's basically two separate burners on a base, you can always just take one on a picnic. And seeing that it's unused completely? Woah.

      If you do decide to go ahead with a reel restoration its only fitting (if being used in freshwater) to pair it up with an original French made Mepps Aglia lure maybe. Just a thought.
