The upgrade to the PS5 version is free, but you have to have the PS5 version to buy the DLC with Yuffie

Yuffie comes with the ps5 version but not with the upgrade so you have to buy Yuffie dlc separately if you upgrade from ps4 to ps5

I feel like Yuffie gets a bad rap. A lot of people just see her for that one part where she steals your materia, but I don't think the developers wanted you to hate her (in fact the story of Wutai is supposed to make you feel kind of the opposite) They just wanted to make a challenge. Which unfortunately didn't go over well with people who had become so dependent on materia by that point.
She has some pretty funny dialogue as well as a few interesting reactions to events (particularly the end of disc 1 and in gold saucer) Sadly as an optional character they didn't really get to give her the attention she deserves, but since she's getting introduced in the remake there's hope for her to be part of the proper story now.

Yuffie stan here and to truly appreciate her, you need her in your party for the whole game. Shes just a really likable brat, and her dialogue is always quite funny. Shes the best comic relief character in the game.

ooh not sure why it got removed BUT, i want to love yuffie so much so i'm so excited for this, and i've heard similar things so maybe one day i should go back to ff7 and discover her a little more :D

The base game is free. The upgrade is free for owners and when the current ps4 owners upgrade they will get a version unshackled by ps4
