The story mode and the characters personalization was so deep that you can play offline for like... More than hundred's of hours. Dissidia 012 still a great game today
PSP Dissidia's story could only function by stripping the characters of their memories and personalities from the source material. Terra in particular was hit the hardest, regressed from a strong and motherly figure to a meek little wimp and Cloud was still in his AC brooding phase, which people who played the original FFVII really did not like
I honestly prefer them. The stylization makes them really unqiue and lifeful for lack of a better word. The newer models are all good quality but look more like really good cosplays to me than anything else. I do love Garland’s redesigned armor though. His new helmet is incredible.
Yeah same.. Dissidia 012 was the best.. They should have made dissidia NT, with the same formula as the previous game.. NT just doesn't work.. with the 3v3..
@@thaneros yeah i know that.. but the thing is, they are famous for their dissidia psp game, which is 1v1.. the players have more variety of skill to choose from as well.. not too mention being 1v1 making it able to have a much better arena, as shown in dissidia 012.. even the arena in NT felt less exciting..
@@TheWheelman298 NT was never really intended to be more than an arcade game. They just slapped a shallow story mode on it and released it for reasons unclear. There's definitely a market for a Final Fantasy fighter, it just needs to be done with care. They'll do it when they're ready.
If I were them i'd have to add Clive only on a Dissidia remake, but only when we're at Final Fantasy XX, The events would be the same (from duodecim, dissidia, NT then possible new content) but all FFXX characters being in all 4 parts of the game. NT plot would have to be reworked or atleast most of it. this would be like a 10+ years in the making before itll be a thing. Long enough time to justify a Dissidia Remake

The graphics on NT look sharper, but the animations in 012 are much more natural. Hell, on the Warrior of Light, you can clearly see how the breathing animation makes makes the clothes actually move like they really would with heavy breathing.
The biggest issue with NT is just the change in combat/how it plays. Visually, it’s good. If it played the same as the PSP titles, it would be a number one fighting game for me, easily. Right now, they could port/remaster Dissidia 1 and 2 and bring them to Switch, and I would buy them day one. Perfect modern system for it. Will it happen? Doubtful, but I would be there for it. And since Crisis Core got remade, maybe it isn’t impossible.
We need a game with the roster of all Dissidia games with the graphics of NT the gameplay of 012 or Duodecim whichever one you want and the customization options of Opera Omnia just not as confusing. Try to simplify the customization so its easy and will encourage new players to spend most of their time customizing characters to look and play the way they feel is best...or to play as lore accurately as possible if you want to a character to be lore accurate according to all the current media we have for them.

I am sorry for Gilgamesh he is so unique, but more sorry for Prishe, I am not a fan of her, but FFXI was stolen from one representative. Laguna tho? His presence was unnecessary even since 012 he was even plain boring to play, Rinoa must have been added instead of him in the first place.
Three mainline Dissidia games and we still only have two Final Fantasy IX characters. That hurts me deep. Though, apparently Dissidia NT was going to add Vivi before the game underperformed and died.
2 are enough for 9. Lame characters most of them, including Zidane. Tho the only good character the game has (Vivi) it's not there, I'll give you that.
I swear they can't decide on Bartz's hair, in the original game it was wavy and brown, in Dissidia it looks like a dirty blonde colour and is much shorter, in his alternate costume it changes to brown and suddenly his hair is very spiky, in NT his hair looks how it's supposed to as a modern take on the character, brown wavy hair like the original, in FFBE WoTV his hair is white and is shorter than before, it's sort of like a halfway point between Dissidia and NT. I won't lie white is a good hair colour for Bartz in his Dissidia costume but damn they're indecisive, I don't think anybody else has been through such a roller coaster of design changes since the original.

While Dissidia lives on as a one of my favorite mobile games, DFFOO, I don't forget that they did create something great with these models, which are eventually used for CGs in FFBE and as a blueprint for DFFOO's characters and their companions. I hope one day Dissidia makes a grand return. Thank you for reminding us of their existence.
I wish they would just remaster the psp games - maybe even with the dissidia nt models and bring them to current gen. I miss playing the good games and don’t understand how or why they are still stuck on psp. It would be heartbreaking if NT killed the franchise for good
To be honest, these characters, will look good with in the game, soul Calibur or even an Final fantasy crossover game with soul caliber, and it will be a nice crossover with fire emblem.
We need a new Dissidia game that is fun and doesn't have connection issues. Also adding more Square Enix characters that are not just Final Fantasy but also from Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest and Neir too! It will be like super epic and awesome for everyone. Also the glow up for Terra is amazing cause her pose shows an example. In Dissidia 12 and the original she is scared and timid and in NT she is now brave and determined.
Kingdom Hearts won't happen even if they make a new Dissidia, the first was supposed to be a KH spin-off after all, and they changed it because of the issue of having Disney characters beat up each other.

I loved the originals and despised NT, but props to the art and animation teams, the new models look great and some of the animation are 1:1 with the originals, that's dedication.

The older models are more animated with the characters personalities on full display, be it battle stances, gestures or just movement. The cartoont style is more stylized and interesting to look at while clearly communicating information which is crucial for action/fighting games. The new models try to have graphical fidelity like pixel count and shading/lighting donthenhevay lifting and smother half the cast in particle effects to hide impurities but man o man... .the old graphics hold up wonderfully because their stylization and emotive animations but the new graphics look dated already lmao.
It's such a shame that NT was such a flop. Really is a gorgeous game. If only it had gotten Duodecim's mechanics and support. Shit'd still be jumping right now.
It’s like NT was squandered; so much potential wasted on focusing on 3v3; instead of the game in itself. Though I’m probably many of the few that don’t hate the game, but it is like when you expect much and get little in return… to can’t fully appreciate it for what it was truly meant to be! I still play even now, but not as much as I would like too. Hell I got over 1000hrs in 012; that kinda shows how well made it was even for a portable.
The old versions of the characters feel like they have so much more well... character? the new ones obv look better but I still think I lean towards the old most the time?

Same. Searched for the whole soundtrack and didn't find it. Maybe the arcade and console versions have different OSTs, or maybe the author edited some remix and looped it himself.
Not sure why square trusted team ninja to make dissidia but that was a poor decision. All they had to do was use next gen graphics, tweek the original gameplay mechanics a little and give use a story mode similar to the previous installments and they would’ve made a killing 🤦🏽♂️
Always loved that Garland was voiced by Christopher Sabat also the voice of Vegeta! Dissidia definitely was my introduction to how cool these final fantasy characters can be. Kingdom hearts definitely showed some cool stuff but this was like DBZ/Kingdom hearts. Cecil and Kain were definitely my mains in Duodecim 012!
Fucking shame Dissidia NT went 3v3, had a trash singleplayer mode, and no player base. Dissidia and 012 are fucking amazing titles that I spent hours upon hours in. Here's hoping we get a Dissidia 016 at some point.

Dude, Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] slaps! That was one of my favorite PSP games of all time! Although Dissidia NT was pretty cool, I found it to be so underwhelming in comparison. You know, I'd like Koei Tecmo and Square Enix to adapt Dissidia into a Musou game next! That'd definitely be so good!
the more updated looks nice and all but looks can only get you so far rather have an amazing story and combat style and poor graphics then just a pretty face gets boring to look at after a while hence why I enjoy duodecim more and have picked it back up after all these years
It's weird how the changes seem small until you notice the small heads and longer legs. Everything looks a bit off. Shame, because the increase in detail is huge. I wonder why they felt the need to alter the proportions instead of just use the same model but remake the textures.
Dissidia 012 remaster would be awesome, or a full remake, same game, but expanded to include the NT characters, ported and remade for the old fighting system would be amazing!
FF NT has everything a Final Fantasy fan could ever want. Amazing graphics, Iconic characters and Summons with great voice acting and over the top chaotic environments in a 3 Vs 3 Battle format. Furthermore it has one of the greatest soundtracks in all of gaming history. There was no reason this game needed to fail but they decided to make it Japanese arcade exclusive for like 3 years before deciding to expand it to the PS4 which most people could not get their hands on. When they finally released it to PC the Hype behind the game was long gone and it was Freemium >_
I remembered how i spent like 600hrs each on the first dissidia and duodecim. Really blew my mind with the over world exploration and the chess like gameplay.. Even the mobile game DFFOO is better than NT
I played the absolute hell out of Dissidia 012. NT was just... man they just kinda stripped out what made 012 fun and replaced them with game modes that I found annoying and not fun. I missed the 1 on 1 combat so much. I would have replayed entirely and bought DLC if they just remastered 012... Imagine grinding to unlock Feral chaos with graphics like this

You know looking at terra's old and new model, you could say that it shows more confidence and character development since her story in old dissidia.

I just loved how models on first Dissidia was like playing FF characters in KH2 art style, Nomura style really shine for these designs.

Dissisidia 012 was a borderline obsession for me as a kid. Having a PSP was awesome for a 12 year old jrpg obsessed me.

Honestly some of the Duodecim idle animations are better than NT versions. I especially like Tidus’s where he spins his sword around.

Yes the improvement is huge but you can see eyes in Dissidia NT never blink, compare to old Dissidia 012 yes the characters eyes blink.

The cartoont style is more stylized and interesting to look at while clearly communicating information which is crucial for action/fighting games.

It's such a shame that NT was such a flop. Really is a gorgeous game. If only it had gotten Duodecim's mechanics and support. Shit'd still be jumping right now.

It’s like NT was squandered; so much potential wasted on focusing on 3v3; instead of the game in itself.
Though I’m probably many of the few that don’t hate the game, but it is like when you expect much and get little in return… to can’t fully appreciate it for what it was truly meant to be!
I still play even now, but not as much as I would like too. Hell I got over 1000hrs in 012; that kinda shows how well made it was even for a portable.
The old versions of the characters feel like they have so much more well... character? the new ones obv look better but I still think I lean towards the old most the time?
If only NT played more like Duodecim, series truly peaked there.

Same. Searched for the whole soundtrack and didn't find it. Maybe the arcade and console versions have different OSTs, or maybe the author edited some remix and looped it himself.

Not sure why square trusted team ninja to make dissidia but that was a poor decision. All they had to do was use next gen graphics, tweek the original gameplay mechanics a little and give use a story mode similar to the previous installments and they would’ve made a killing 🤦🏽♂️
Always loved that Garland was voiced by Christopher Sabat also the voice of Vegeta! Dissidia definitely was my introduction to how cool these final fantasy characters can be. Kingdom hearts definitely showed some cool stuff but this was like DBZ/Kingdom hearts. Cecil and Kain were definitely my mains in Duodecim 012!
This is pretty much a confirmation that all ff characters have been rendered for Remake.
The only that's better in NT than 012 is just the graphics.

Dude, Dissidia 012 [Duodecim] slaps! That was one of my favorite PSP games of all time! Although Dissidia NT was pretty cool, I found it to be so underwhelming in comparison.
You know, I'd like Koei Tecmo and Square Enix to adapt Dissidia into a Musou game next! That'd definitely be so good!
Seeing this just makes you wish that they scrapped NT and just remastered 012 with NT graphics.

the more updated looks nice and all but looks can only get you so far rather have an amazing story and combat style and poor graphics then just a pretty face gets boring to look at after a while hence why I enjoy duodecim more and have picked it back up after all these years
It's weird how the changes seem small until you notice the small heads and longer legs. Everything looks a bit off. Shame, because the increase in detail is huge.
I wonder why they felt the need to alter the proportions instead of just use the same model but remake the textures.
The leg thing is especially bad for the women. At the same time they all got skinny legs, which juts makes it even more uncanny.
A lot of the body animations look much better with the models on the left. The models on the right have faces that look far too serious.

FF NT has everything a Final Fantasy fan could ever want. Amazing graphics, Iconic characters and Summons with great voice acting and over the top chaotic environments in a 3 Vs 3 Battle format. Furthermore it has one of the greatest soundtracks in all of gaming history. There was no reason this game needed to fail but they decided to make it Japanese arcade exclusive for like 3 years before deciding to expand it to the PS4 which most people could not get their hands on. When they finally released it to PC the Hype behind the game was long gone and it was Freemium >_

I remembered how i spent like 600hrs each on the first dissidia and duodecim. Really blew my mind with the over world exploration and the chess like gameplay.. Even the mobile game DFFOO is better than NT
We still need a true remastered of 012. It still has the better game play and story.
I played the absolute hell out of Dissidia 012. NT was just... man they just kinda stripped out what made 012 fun and replaced them with game modes that I found annoying and not fun. I missed the 1 on 1 combat so much. I would have replayed entirely and bought DLC if they just remastered 012... Imagine grinding to unlock Feral chaos with graphics like this
