My mother-in-law used to make that for her 6 kids when they were little. She’s not with us anymore, but if possible I would love to find out how she made that!! My mother and my grandmother would make biscuits for almost every meal. She would melt bacon grease in the pan and when she would wipe the biscuits in the bacon grease before putting them in the oven. They were always delicious.

As a person who lost touch with her faith years ago, I am grateful to have found it again and I realise that the joy of cooking good food for my family is part of my faith and God’s Grace… and Becky, you are an exemplary example for every young woman who wants so much to just take care of her family and make a loving family home for them…Most young women feel the need to “ nest”…but current societal expectations and finances make this very difficult… If women chose to stay home and raise their own children, wages would go up, crime would go down and families would be able to afford to do so.

I once went to a 75th anniversary party. I learned that day that she made him biscuits every morning of those 75 years. And we lived outside Los Angeles...not exactly biscuit country.
I do believe butter biscuits are the best, my grandmother used to make them....thanks for this video brings back memories and I hope to use it myself.....first time to see you since your "sorrows" pray you are getting alone well. I've been through it and it changed me forever. But God has lifted me up and I praise Him for such, God bless you all!
I use frozen butter shaved with the cheese grater. Works every time and they come out fluffy and super tasty. And need to breaks it up, just mix it in.
Thank you for talking about milk. I saw another easy recipe that called for buttermilk, and I had it on my list for the next grocery run (tomorrow). But when you said it made the biscuits sour, I decided to stick with my whole milk. See, it’s the little things I don’t think about that you mention - like don’t overwork the dough once you add milk. Really, I’m new to cooking - I recently retired and have time to think about more than the standard basics that I’ve been doing all my life, peppered with takeout. But I am clueless as to these little secrets that are so important and make a such difference. I love your videos - they make me long for my mother’s home cooking. She made the best fried chicken - I grew up in New York but she was from Virginia. She made cakes from scratch and decorated them with roses and trim that would match any professional baker. One year she stuck a doll in the middle of the cake and the cake was the doll’s dress. The dress was like a Southern ball gown and it looked real. The dress had layers of frosting and lace frosting. It was amazing. We were so used to it, we took it for granted. Now I really miss it, but I’m getting it back through you. ❤️
