I think No Time To Die makes Quantum look a better film now. You appreciate the really good parts, the style etc that was lacking in NTTD in my opinion. I watched it again just the other day. Whatever you think of the story you can't deny that Craig is in peak Bond mode here.
Coincidentally made myself a Vesper this evening because my day was epically bad on a Bondian scale. Delighted to quaff it during this livestream! Tried and true Bond fan here. Love the entirety of it all for various reasons. And for the Craig era, I think QoS is better than most people give it credit. So many Bondian elements are present here (and sadly lacking in subsequent films), that this ranks high for me. Cheers! 🍸
So happy to see that lots of people share my love for QoS. It's my favourite action film for sure. Have to say that I'm not specifically a Bond fan, and I get why someone would say that it's not really a Bond film. Absolutely refute the criticism of the script that's out there, though. It's tight, logical, stylish, suspenseful and actually meaningful in many ways.
Same. The way the action scenes were shot didn't bother me at all. Didn't have any problem following what was going on. This was Bond as a ruthless badass.
I should have watched this one Live. A lot of great film comments, learnt a lot style-wise. I think too, my favourite Craig Bond. Persistence of vision allows repeat viewings to see more clearly the film edits, but, or maybe because of, to this day Quantum remains consistently Exciting. And every single frame is framed to perfection.
Nice new opening, totally sums up the channel! Although it is usually overlooked these days, Quantum still has that special place in my heart and carries a certain sentiment. I saw this film in my early 20s with an ex-girlfriend and it became one of "our" films. Casino reignited the love for Bond in my late teens, but I saw Quantum as a man... so to speak 😄 Like Luke and Kyle, this film started the sartorial Bond thing for me. I never wore cardigans until this film; I asked my friends to get me a shawl collar cardigan for my birthday, and my cardigans since are shawl because of Italy, my first double-breasted coat and one I bought last year was inspired by the final scene, I have multiple dark polo shirts because of Haiti and have a pair of beige/off-white chinos and Chukkas also inspired by Italy/Haiti. This was just the beginning of my Bond style emulation which continues through to now, and further influenced by yourself Mr. DZ. Side note: unrelated to Quantum, It is because of your influence that I now own two Barbour Commander-like (Lutz) jackets! 😄
QoS is, for me, the best wardrobe of the whole series. There's not a bad Bond look in it, but the blue suit at the party and the Harrington look are the highlights.
The best wardrobe ever worn on film. Period. Absolute incredible. This will stand up for generations. The suits completely went downhill after this film due to the fit. Tom Ford absolutely nailed it. Jany Temime wrecked it with the French fit which was a disaster.
I was onboard QoS from the first midnight showing. Loved the discussion. Yes. Have multiple sweaters. Those TF shades took two years to find and got mine in all brown and love them. Didn’t break the bank either. Was glad the deleted scene was brought up. Man would love to see it released someday. I doubt a directors cut would ever be considered.
What converted me to this film was remembering how great the car chase, the roof chase, and the balcony fight scene were. How iconic the fashion was, but also how inferior Spectre and No Time to Die were overall.
i would say its the most steve mcqueen esque movie, heaily inspired by him and the look as well, if you watched cinnicinati kid, its basically steve mcqueen casino royale. but style is great, NTTD didnt have that great in the fashion sense. Did you do style happy hours for the brosnana era or the other actor era, if not needs to happen, great show, cant wait for casino royale, or in my words cincinati kid

I didn't start liking QOS until I started looking at it from a sartorial point of view, and more flowed from there. It's really a slick, unique film.
Wow JW steals the show on this discussion. So astute, we need more JW on here. I’m a JW fan boy apparently. He gets it
That new opening is absolutely fantastic, wow. You in all the outfits is so cool.
Quantum of Solace is my favourite Bond and Bond's suits in QoS my favourite suits out of all Bonds.

QOS so underrated. I really enjoyed the dark gritty Bond with a purpose. 😎
Just like Licence to Kill!

Sorry I missed the livestream but enjoyed the show. Nice panel. Always great to have JW in the house😎
Definitely the most Stylish of all the Craig Bond films. He never looked better

Best discussion yet.
The Craig movie with the most impeccable styles.

Hey David! Did you see my name with my greeting to JW? This is very fascinating of how you put this together! Thank you so very much!👍

'The teat of the franchise...' absolutely inspired😂
Outstanding! Sartorial analysis at its finest!
I didn’t like it initially but I do love it now too, I rewatched it like 3 years ago and it was like an awakening
Really enjoyed watching this, over the last few days!
I think in time this movie will become much more appreciated.

Just catching up, a quick hell yeah to that new opening.
Caught up with this late but is was a great show and review. Nice work.
42:50 my proudest moment :D
I haven't looked too far into it, but this video series is great. Should do one for every movie.
That's the plan from what I understand
I wear suit every day or sweater to my college class
Casino 9.5
Quantum 9
Skyfall 9
Spectre 8.5
NTTD 9
Overall Craig's 9 out of 10.
I'm having a tea with honey myself because I rather don't drink alcohol since 1975!
Hello, pelase, I need you help, the S size in N Peal can fit in me? I’m 5’6’’ and thin/athletic. Thank you :)
I have a 38.5 inch chest and the size small fits me well
@@dannycalifornia1300 Thank yu, in chest I'm 36-38 :D
they filmed in Panama
David you should interview a real mi6 or cia agent on how close bond is to the real world aspect of it
JW is the best!

Does anyone (David?) know what shoes Camille is wearing in the dessert shot with Bond in blue jeans?
Weird hallway for an entrance into Mitchell's apartment?
Love the new opening graphics. Not the biggest fan of QoS though, sorry.
You should monetise some of these videos mate
Such a bad movie with such a great style
