  • You can find our upgraded PCV valve here: www.rkxtech.com/collections/p...
    Testing for a ruptured PCV valve is simple! If you feel vacuum coming out of the top vent hole on the PCV valve cap your PCV valve has an issue. This vent hole is simply a breather to let the PCV valve move up and down freely. You will never feel / hear vacuum from it when it is working properly.

    Excellent demo! I’ve watched a dozen videos on this topic, and you’re the only one… to show how to perform the finger vacuum test. Cheers!

    Will a PCV diaphragm from a MKVI GTI work? They look the same. I ask because I have a spare laying around from when I used to own a GTI

    How much vacuum is normally present in the crankcase at idle in these turbo engines? Is it enough to cause the engine to misfire and nearly quit when the oil cap is removed? When the diaphragm tears, does the vacuum pump normally apply full vacuum to the crankcase, unregulated by the PCV diaphragm?

    • @RKXTECHcom
      @RKXTECHcom  Рік тому +5

      There is a good amount of vacuum inside the crankcase when this is working normally. These engines are sealed tight so removing your oil cap with the engine on will cause a missive vacuum leak essentially. When the PCV valve ruptures even more vacuum is applied to the crankcase and its typically really really difficult to remove the oil cap with the engine running because there is so much vacuum.
