Felt sorry for Reni here, Larry Mullen is a great unique drummer and Reni has every right to call out his influences that made the Stone Roses drummer what he is! Great, cool, rhythm and flow that is the Roses rhythm section. The thing that makes this unit cool are the way Mani and Reni combine! Obviously Squire is the most gifted guitarist known to our generation, but Reni makes the Roses. Larry Mullen is fantastic too, as is Copeland!
This is the greatest drummer of a generation, and as a drummer myself, my idol. He hardly did any interviews during his time with the Roses, didn't say much at all. I'm thrilled to see him up-front. Also, the set-up of this interview isn't really the Roses' thing, and they never really knew how to handle worldwide hype. In typical style, 20 years on, still keeping their cards close to their chests and having that little enigmatic spark. Bring on Heaton Park! The Resurrection!
Quality to see these guys back together, my favourite band by a longshot, never saw them before they broke up but i am now. Ian getting the water in for the boys good man yoursell.
two weeks after this me and my girlfriend went back together,, One of our first meeting was at a Ian Brown gig. Its really beautiful that this band got back together!!! we missed you too so much you stoned bloody roses!!
HOLY SHIT! THE STONE ROSES HAVE REFORMED. Good God, okokokokok, I need to buy plane tickets ASAP. I am a west-coast American, and the Stone Roses are my favorite band of all time!!!!m I need to fly to the UK and go to Heaton Park!!!! WHO CAN HELP ME OUT???!!! THE STONE ROSES, ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!!!!
Anyone who thinks Reni is boring clearly doesn't have 3 dimensional thinking and struggles to comprehend what he's actually saying. Throw in his mello Manchester accent and the average lemming thinks he's boring. Now, to me, that shit is funny. Jokes on them.
Dani Osvaldo I cringed the whole way through this....i'm all for being different, odd , eccentric, but reni just seems self obsessed and not into the idea of reformation...he just wants money....
Its really good to see them being so honest, Ian really has some charisma and I really like how they are making no promises, I can't wait to hear what they come up with, the egos seem to have gone. The pressure is on again like it was with second coming, I think they will deal with it better this time. All they need to remember is that they released the first album without the opinions of others, and they set the standard. Good luck
Reni and John are seminal artists, while Mani and Ian have got big bollocks. This is one of the most talented bands in British history, they burned so bright they imploded. Makes Coldplay and Oasis look like complete bland mediocre peanut juice.
Reni is, or at least was, a wonderful drummer. To see him play as part of the full line-up is something that I never thought I would get to see; to say that I'm excited is so far beyond an understatement that it's ridiculous.
I was a bit young to see The Roses first time around but I was gutted when they split. Nothing's going to stop me seeing them next summer! Just keeping my fingers crossed they don't implode again before then...
this is mint....they sound so humble and unsure of things- little did they realise how much impact they would have on nearly 25000 people in a park in manchester. i for one never doubted it, from the minute i heard about them getting back together i was back in 1990 and i was absolutely buzzing. fucking awesome- one love
Are there any chances The Seahorses will have a reunion too or some songs influenced by The Seahorses will be written? The Seahorses had some quality stuff too!
@Widgernator what?!!! are you serious? RENI!! ALAN WREN!! One of the best drummers your ever likely to encounter!! The guys a fuckin legend!!! THEY ALL ARE!!!
Sky's Urban Myths badly badly need to do this in their tribute/ spoof brilliant way. I'd love to see this done on there. Especially the backstage bit aswell as the press conference.
I think they were honest here. Ian and John enjoyed reconnecting. Reni said he doubted they could do it. I assume that Ian and John did start writing songs again but by the time it came down to it, to flesh them out and record, they remembered that they don't REALLY like each other. I like Beautiful Thing but All For One was unfortunate. Still, it gave some people, like me, a first and only opportunity to see them on stage. It was great but at the same time it was just 4 middle aged dudes playing laid back versions of their greatest hits. For years.
i never thought ian brown would reform with the roses.just goes to show that people get their heads turned by money which i think is quite sad.everyone loves a bit of nostalgia..the stone roses were never a particularly good live band..the two albums are great..the first one paved the way for oasis etc.these live gigs will be full of beery lads with liam haircuts thinking theyre 20 years younger.will the gigs actually be any good..i doubt it very much
Did Kressa ever play with them again?.i think that was his name.the guy on the picture of the 1st album using the decks......also well said mani ,Glasgow green gig was awesome
All 220000 tickets sold out in 68 minutes for the two original shows and the added date! The fastest selling gigs in Uk history! Me my brother and 2 others are going to the Friday show.
I think doing a press conference shows they have got the balls to say they are back and mean business. Nowlets see 'em get John Leckie to produce a new album
Ian Brown and I must be kindred spirits - I dont like fizzy water neither - devils drink haha! long live the roses won't be able to get a ticket but I have seen Ian Brown solo twice and he is quality front man! Need the new stuff now - cant wait for it
i remember exactly where i was when i found out about this. i'd just got to my nan's house from school on my bike, and she turned to me, and said to me "have you seen the news?" I stood in the living room doorway and said, "what news?" and she said, "The Stone Roses have got back together." i stared at her in disbelief and had to tell her to repeat it 3 times to make sure i heard her right. eventually i searched it up on UA-cam and practically jizzed myself! I'M OFF TO SEE THE ROSES!
"scuse me love can i get another glass, i dont like fizzy warrrter!!" - Ian Brown at 2:05 hahahahaha!!! Rock n Fuckin Roll!!! Got my tickets for the openin gig at Heaton Park this Mornin, Never fort Id get the chance to see the Stone Roses Live!! Seen Ian Brown on his on Live a few times, but this will be fuckin mental!!!
singer: cool, guitarist: moody, bassist: supportive, drummer: slightly mad = THE PERFECT BAND
Reni's so modest. ''I'm too old to drum.'' Bollocks, he's the best drummer in the world.
U aha,,best drummer in the world,,, best laugh all year!!!! Pish indie band based around drugs and not washing,,,
rob Oldgoth who is then
@@kurtjappy Neil Peart
rob Oldgoth fuck off then
On that tour, he lost none of his skills. As far as personality, modest and soft spoken off stage, total beast mode on stage, like Neil Peart.
Some happiness does come grey clouds - Mani you fucking legend, carrying on after his mum died, respect
The most impressive thing about this whole thing is the fact they all have hair still !
Shaun pequeno or do they ? Lol
"So we've just come here to deny we're getting back together"
Mani sounds like darth vader
@Craig Longmuir thought the exact same thing
Craig Longmuir Bit harsh there Craig! hahaha
Reni is amazing, I've never seen anyone even close to being as awesome as him. Bring on the 70 new stuffs!
Heaton Park is one of the best gigs I've ever been to!!
Makes me sad when they mention new music at 4:40 and that they only went on to release 2 new songs
Do you think there is more they have to release
Reni such a shiny optimist
Mani's voice cracks me up.
I was at the Feille in 96’ and it was the greatest gig I ever went to, truly magic
Felt sorry for Reni here, Larry Mullen is a great unique drummer and Reni has every right to call out his influences that made the Stone Roses drummer what he is! oh rubbish, what about Johnny Marr!!
John Squire great on his guitar but imo Johnny Marr takes that title
@@68majortom Nope...Squire is better than Marr for me!
if you dont get renis humour i feel sorry for you
Comes across as a nob to me. Ian and John are the most interesting
Richard Dale ...best musician of the lot
@@andlidearmadta9680 Definitely is...the man is a genius but he’s kind of a kill joy sometimes

John doesn't say much, but that's why I love him. "There is no grave."
Reni and Brownie just can't get on
I don't think Reni's boring, I think he just has a really dry sense of humour, legend.
Reni isn't afraid to be himself... i like that...
THE BEST VIDEO ON UA-cam THIS YEAR! hands down.
Quality to see these guys back together, my favourite band by a longshot, never saw them before they broke up but i am now. Ian getting the water in for the boys good man yoursell.
My favourite band of all time... until the reunited
Great to see you back.
Best News of the last 15 years!!!! Amazing... The Stone Roses are back and I don't care if they are not as good as they were ... they could be better.
The best news I' ve heard for a very long time. All I can say is BRING IT ON!!!
Reni's sense of humour is going over most people's heads here.
Still buzzing from their gig in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. They were amazing, easily one of the best nights of my life.
two weeks after this me and my girlfriend went back together,, One of our first meeting was at a Ian Brown gig. Its really beautiful that this band got back together!!! we missed you too so much you stoned bloody roses!!

I remember giddily watching this live. Wow, time flies.

i'm from the depths of manny and trust me he's just a cunt
Show me the mountain and i will fucking climb it hahaha. Get in Mani

Mani was the funniest
this was the greatest news of my life, right behind my kids being born!!!!!
Reni and John are seminal artists, while Mani and Ian have got big bollocks. This is one of the most talented bands in British history, they burned so bright they imploded. Makes Coldplay and Oasis look like complete bland mediocre peanut juice.
Greeeeeeeeeat :). I am so happy to see them coming back!
Their Glasgow Green gig was the best I've ever been to.....amazing!!!

LOVE IT .... CANA STOP WATCHIN THIS ... I LOVE THE ROSES ...ROSES FOREVER !!! xx
Let's hope they can re find some old Roses magic.
It's great to see Reni back!
It's been nearly two years since their first reunion show, he's doing fine so far :)
im going, and literally cannot wait, missed heaton park and was devastated

Reni seems so humble and down to earth!
lovin it! so excited to see! love john robb too :)
Ireland gig "2nd behind Glasgow Green" - best gigs of all time! Yayyy! :)
Sky's Urban Myths badly badly need to do this in their tribute/ spoof brilliant way. I'd love to see this done on there. Especially the backstage bit aswell as the press conference.
Yeah Welcome Back To MADCHESTER :-) Good Luck And All The Best ;-)
The room seems to go awkward everytime John Squire speaks, hes a suttle man but hilarious, specially back in the day.
Stone roses are the best band that have walked and the best thing to come from manchester
worth an absolute fortune to them and good luck to em
I think they were honest here. Ian and John enjoyed reconnecting. Reni said he doubted they could do it. 6:32 - They're talking about releasing the Feile '95 show as a live album, to which Reni responds: "I don't think I'm very good on that one." XD

More important than the Beatles! Proud day to be a mancunian and a great day for the music world! Heaton Park will be historic
Its well seen Mani has spent the last 15 years with the primals, look at the nick of him, still on quarter of the greatest ever
John squire interview, new album being worked on this year. jackpot!!!
As a Spike Island and Glasgow green veteran,i hope they can head down to my current abode,NZ and not just Australia.
And then he pours the fizzy water back in instead of throwing it away. :')
Ian cracks me up pouring the sparkling water back in the glass
Reni -sounds like he's sat on his drum-sticks
@Bkgrill81 Love that little glance! :) Tells me more about the motives behind this reunion than anything written in the press!
the new Rolling Stones!!!!!!
