Actually, i do kinda know what it's like. Our small high school (American) football team had a loss streak about eight years long. They came close a couple times but came up short. Finally tied a game in regulation, went into an overtime (each team an opportunity to score from 10 yards out). And you're right: even though our guys scored, that last series of downs lasted for. Ev. Er. The other team dropped a pass, and the long (well, 8 years, that's two HS generations) drought was over
Brilliant! As soon as I saw the scoreline, my first thought was of Tim visiting all those years ago, can't believe he went back down to watch this match and witness history!
Went to Temple City High School in California. San Marino High School was our local rival and we always beat them in football. Im glad it was a different San Marino Football team success!
In terms of football, the Nations League is a blessing for smaller european countries. Its about time they apply this "3 tier system' to the world cup as well.
I remember seeing England play Liechtenstein and it was funny to hear God save the queen/king twice. Congratulations to San Marino - very glad for them!
I heard of this result a few days ago, and thought: I hope that Brit youtuber San Marino fan was there to bring this moment of history to us. "And gentlemen in England (sic - or San Marino ) now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here ..." Good job Tim, and thanks for your tireless service.
After 40 years of complete indifference to the sport, I cannot believe you have actually made me both interested and emotionally invested in a game of football.
This reminds me of watching the cubs win the World Series, me (with family from chicago) and my roommate (from chicago) were biting nails the whole game. It ended and we tore across campus screaming "hey chicago" at the top of our lungs... By ourselves because we were in texas. Fun fact about that game, the losers (the Indians, iirc) had the second longest streak without a World Series win in the league at the time, until the Cubs won and broke their 108 year losing streak.

...noooo, this is definitely not a ploy to get you to visit Liechtenstein, so that you also check out the Bregenzerwald Museumsbahn "Wälderbähnle" nearby in Austria! Deeeefinitely.
What an awesome way to start the video with the instrumental version of "have a little patience" as background music 😁
Ev. Er. The other team dropped a pass, and the long (well, 8 years, that's two HS generations) drought was over
The air in the stadion must've been electrifying. Congrats to San Marino.
The Tim Traveller: the ONLY channel that can make soccer remotely interesting for me. And even edge of the seat stuff. Thanks Tim.
The first thing that I thought of when I saw the score was “I hope Tim was there” -epic! So pleased for San Marino!
This was genuinely engaging and a fabulous video about a great game of football. Brilliant 👍
Brilliant! As soon as I saw the scoreline, my first thought was of Tim visiting all those years ago, can't believe he went back down to watch this match and witness history!
Went to Temple City High School in California. San Marino High School was our local rival and we always beat them in football. Im glad it was a different San Marino Football team success!
shed a tear.....
I didn't expect to but I did too.
Let’s Gooooooo!! To San Mariiiiinoooo! 🎵🎵🎵❤
I was so hoping you were able to be there for that match. Fantastic! San Marino have had a bit of a year, tbh.
In terms of football, the Nations League is a blessing for smaller european countries. Its about time they apply this "3 tier system' to the world cup as well.
Note! San Marino now has 2 victories! Once again, they beat Liechtenstein, this time 3-1 on the 18th of Nov 2024.
I remember seeing England play Liechtenstein and it was funny to hear God save the queen/king twice.
Congratulations to San Marino - very glad for them!
I heard of this result a few days ago, and thought: I hope that Brit youtuber San Marino fan was there to bring this moment of history to us.
"And gentlemen in England (sic - or San Marino ) now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here ..."
Good job Tim, and thanks for your tireless service.
A really great & heartwarming Moment in History❣️
Thank you @TheTimTraveller and your whole Team to share it with us‼️🎊🤗😃🥰 🇸🇲
Well that got me all emotional!
You should come back and do a video about San Marino Baseball. A sport they are actually good at in the Italian League.
