I understand they want players to interact with the game world more instead of just buying upgrade materials, but then they need to shorten the time to process the ore/wood/leather and make the stacks you can put into the machines bigger. Also there's absolutely no way I'm grinding for 40 silvers bars from 2 silver ore spots just to upgrade 1 armor set, esp when it takes like 30 minutes for the ore to be smelted. I don't know what they were thinking with that. They should've waited until they added more content/higher tier machines before getting rid of the processed materials.
I do agree with basically all of this. Too long smelting times, too little smelting space and I have no idea why the armour upgrades are insane at the moment. I didn't even upgrade all my different armour pre-patch! The problem is they they're making changes for the game as a whole, but our small bit of early access only has two silver nodes and no birch trees (I think?) However, I also think the upgrade progression has little to no meaning pre-patch, so for the long-term for the game I do think this is better. Having infinite resources kind of felt more like a sandbox game.
There are two birch I know of, one in the crucible forest level, and one in sacrament near the fountain. I'm ok with it honestly the crucible mobs are easy enough with a t2 set of weapons and gear, not even considering how quickly you melt the boss with certain builds maxed out t3 at lvl 30. I'm going to be going Max t2 gear and weapons and optimizing there, as the current endgame level 30 is child's play. Honestly they need to scale up the open world mobs and potentially the crucible once you hit lvl 30 so your not two or one shotting mobs with certain builds.
agreed. Silver is also dropping from crucible chests and got two from the general vendor today ..so though the patch notes said they were removed, it must be still part of the random daily loot vendor table.
@Snapziey I farmed 25 chipped spikes in about 6 days and ended up bricking 25 bows w low to mid rolls. Taking gems out of vendors is making the grind miserable for me, it's already incredibly difficult to get a gg rolled enchanted weapon or spending 3-5 gold to craft all of this and then you end up bricking the gg weapon that you farmed for a week straight? Im a grinder but come on this is too much.
Throw builds aren't broken since the update 1 nerf, just need to throw some points into focus and use an extra calmness ring or two. Think this will be an ongoing issue with returns on % max stat ..just up your stat to overcome any nerf..( unless they soft cap focus harder )
The funny thing about the bow changes, while it costs stamina for your single shot, the game still reads it as costing focus, even if it is costing 0 focus. So with the focus gain on focus use gem, you literally can Gain up to 15 focus per shot, not even including the Gain from damage dealt gems and enchants. You can build so much focus with single shots for no focus cost this way, which leads to unlimited kiting of mobs and basically no danger, ever. This is what they were trying to avoid with the focus cost, so you actually sometimes had to be in harms way to get focus, to then use your bow. It's way too easy.
This balance update was almost a complet miss imo, they really didn't understand what makes some builds busted.. And the big problem that make the game unbalanced is this : 1H Weapons should beneficiates from the offhand weapon affixes. Its what makes Bows busted, its what makes Throwing builds busted.. and those are the builds they're trying to nerf. But since they didn't change the fact that they beneficiate from the offhand weapon, they can still achieve insane amounts of regen per hit and are still the most busted builds in the game by far. - You're playing a Ice Throw build that wreck the game with infinite focus ? Put a 1H weapon with a yellow gem 3% focus on damage dealt + the affixe nerfed which is 5% = 8% Focus on damage dealt. Then you put a Torch in offhand with the same = GG you reached 16% Focus on damage dealt without even counting "Focus Gain %" affixes or the yellow gem on your pant which gives 15 focus on focus use. And you know what ? 16% is so much that you don't even need any "Focus gain%" effects on your gear, since Throws hit like 3-4 times, thats 4x16% focus regen so its like 65% of your entire focus bar that is refilled every throw.. So you can build full tank with full HP regen and Stamina regen and you be the best of every world.. So yeah, the busted build that was busted cuz it was able to infinite Focus without any optimization gear-wise is still able to do it. The nerf they did to Throws from 50 cost to 75 is a joke, they NEED to make 1H weapon beneficiate ONLY from their affixes alone. - You're playing a Cone Shot build that wreck the game with infinite focus ? Put a random main weapon like the Wooden Sword, with a yellow gem 3% focus on damage dealt + the affixe nerfed which is 5% = 8% Focus on damage dealt. Then you put a yellow gem on you Bow for 3% = GG you reached 11% Focus on damage dealt without even counting "Focus Gain %" or the yellow gem on your pant. And you know what ? 11% is so much that you don't even need any "Focus gain%" effects, you can build full tank with full HP regen and Stamina regen... Since Cone Shot hit for 1 to 6 times, but mostly hit 2 to 4, its like 33% of your Focus bar regenerated in one shot. So if you have 330 Max focus, which is really really easy to get, you already can regen 1/3 of your Focus = 100 = the cost of Cone Shot. The bigger the target the more arrows hitting so you can achieve like 66% Focus regen on 1 hit.. absolutely not busted right ? So yeah, the other busted build that was busted cuz it was able to infinite Focus without any optimization gear-wise is still able to do it. Again they NEED to make 1H weapon beneficiate ONLY from their affixes alone. But like @stevenmichy said in the comments, they also now can infinite regen their Focus since the Base Shot is now a Focus skill... that cost 0 (what the heck?). So now when you have the Yellow gem on your pants which grant Focus on Focus use, you pay 0 Focus to shoot, to gain 15 Focus thanks to the Pant... You don't even need potions now, you can just stop doing whatever you are and spam like a madman in the emptiness. Yeah you lose stamina but who cares, nobody ask you to do it in front of an enemy ahah.. use Cone Shot on enemies > no enemies but no Focus > spam base shot in the air > full focus > do it again. Are there any people doing some tests in this dev team ahah ? I understood that litteraly 2s when reading this line in the patch notes.. And the icing on the cake is : "yeah, those nerfs are useless since the 2 most busted builds in the game are still exactly the same, so there's not problem right?"... AHAHAH ! The fact is that ALL BUILDS OTHER THAN 1H WEAPONS are now nerfed for no reason. They already were the worst, especially 2H melee builds which 1) don't beneficiate from an offhand weapon cuz they don't have one, that makes 4 stats less than 1H builds (already unbalanced); 2) they are slow to hit so they don't beneficiate much from on hit effects, so now that they are nerfed you are even more impacted and 3) All weapons in the game deal the same stagger damage, which makes faster weapon infinitely better at staggering enemies than big ounga-bounga 2H Hammers.. So they did it : they wanted to nerf something without knowing what to aim to do so, so they did a random nerf that litteraly did the opposite. Both broken builds are still broken the same way as before, but all the weaker builds are even weaker, so it created an even deeper unbalance between 1H and 2H weapons.. And this will be the same until 1H Weapons will stop beneficiate from the offhand. The only good balance they did was on Staves : they lost like 20% Scaling (hard nerf damage wise) and the nerf from 8 to 5% to the affixe "Focus on damage dealt" can be felt. But Staves are 2H weapons.. so u understood already, they don't beneficiate from offhand weapons and couldn't achieve ridiculous amounts of Focus regen without an insanely optimized build like mine (you can check my "channel" i have a video on it). So the only way they can achieve it is the normal way : by getting insane levels of Focus and Focus gains. Since Patch1, to "infinite focus" my 50 cost Cone Spell i actually need 780 Focus, 180% focus gains and 5% Focus on damage dealt on my Staff. So imho its pretty balanced if you need to build and optimize everything around 1 thing, it should work.. So i hope next time they'll ask players or test more themselves like for Staves, because for everything else that's clearly not aimed with precision, and we were a lot of players to have shared our tests that already showed them that 1H builds are simply not playing the same game as others.
Yeah all of this is basically correct. I mean personally I think topaz's should be deleted from the game and focus on damage dealt should be deleted. We only have a small part of the full game right now and you can get builds to break the game with like one mod, or 1 gem as you said, with a starter weapon you can buy from the vendor. I think one-handers affecting off-handers and vice versa can work, but two-handers should probably be able to roll higher potential mods on their weapon and one-handers should innately not be able to roll the same mods.
if they nerf elemental throw more, they will also have to nerf attacks like thunderous assault because it costs 100 also and does way more dmg than elemental throw
this game is awesome, early access takes a lot of play time for me.. Moon Studios and Private Division has a gem in their hands.. i hope they don't blew this up like Blizzard did.. What i want in the near future is they dont make broken builds in this game. Ive build a lot that makes cheeze all the play thru.
The misc tab change is so infuriating. Theyre aware storage is such a big issue, the extra row from chests do not make up for it, and all it does is add more tedious unnecessary back and forth walking. Fun! Refined resources not in the shop suck also, they shoulve bumped up the price not completely removed them. The bump I seem to notice from upgrades make going out farming for materials not worth it, especially when storage is still such an issue - I tend to have to discard most of them now anyway in general exploration, or I just dont pick them up at all. Antlers/Bear mats are still way too rare to afford keeping any metal. I enjoy the exploration too, but storage just kills all the enjoyment I'd get. This unironically felt like a net negative overall in this patch, which is funny as I consider all the hotfixes much more significant patches than this one lol
I have absolutely zero load times now, but I had absolutely massive load times before I switched my game to my NVMe from my HDD. But yeah we need the optimisations to keep coming.
You have to be the only creator that says the changes on vendors not selling mandatory crafting materials is good for the game when at the same time the out world recourses are not enough ... come on man give a break nobody liked that
I say it is good for the LONG TERM. The problem at the moment is that we only have a tiny part of the game, and thus we can't even farm bear claws/birch wood effectively.
@Snapziey still disagree it a preference at the end of the day I want to have a chill gametime on this game farming for more items than I already am is too much (bear paws tusks etc..) anyway great video keep up the vibe going
@@gsgaming5557 I agree. And it doesn’t make any sense that the blacksmith with a smelter doesn’t sell refined ore. Yet, he sells infinite armor that could be smelted into infinite ingots. Who asked for this? Thankfully, I still can sidle up on my house door when I try to enter.
@chunglehunt2266 yeah I forgot that saying your opinion on a matter for a game you paid is bad.... Jesus I never said I don't like the game I don't like what they did cause it was very convenient . I could easily get the game for free but I didn't cause I liked it .

Yup nice changes, especially on the bows and resource management 👍

i want to see the new bow build please. as i have yet to play a dex build
The numbers are also definitely bigger on the fireball and hellfire, etc
the misq tab was a bump, but everything was nice
They nerfed Staves... but i can still 4 shot echo night on each stage...

i hope you mean m.2 ssd and not old ssd bricks
I have mine on an NVMe, but any SSD would be better than a HDD.
When I go from sacrament into orban glades I still have to wait a minute before the bridge and map loads but sure, it's optimized lol
