AATCHB was my everyday driving music for many months. Interesting, the thoughts it illicits while driving professionally. I ended up parked, drunknown and opiated many a night. Not professional, but philosophically inspired. I'd write alot. Never amounted to anything that would eventually taint its' importance to me. Still forgot most of it...
I remember the rumors circulating around the time after the fragile of an unplugged sort of thing. I imagine that was a hard thing to put together, but i wish there were more of this! Maybe someone could nudge trent and talk him into it now, like a sort of retrospective intimate performance. Theres so much material that would sound great from his entire body of work.
this needs to be on a major blu-ray release. NIN should do a series of video reissues. one for "closure" with the extras from the original 2006 unreleased version plus new ones including documentaries and maybe a classic album series on "the downward spiral". for "and all that could have been", all of the TV specials related for that time, music videos, and a new documentary on that period.
This version of this song is up there with Over the hills and far away and The End for me. Perhaps one of the greatest songs ever recorded by anyone ever
To be the fly on the wall in this room, I want to experience Trent like this, so raw, one of my favorite albums, and the song, I’ve always loved this song! 🙇🙇🙇
I could be hours about how NiN and trent make such a cool and great sound but just watching and listen how they do it acoustic is fascinating thank yo Rob
Once again, thanks for the remembrances you’re providing! I saw lately that Trent is going on hiatus. That’s quite understandable, I still remember the premiere of his very first video on MTV way back in 1988, when I was still 16 years old, called ‘head like a hole’. I couldn’t wait to buy the full album Pretty Hate Machine afterwards in a local record store. ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ohhh. Wow. His voice always resonates well with my biology. Somehow it passes through my ears in way that I could pick it out in a noisy place with a lot of people talking. And I can feel his voice in my bones and chest. Kinda like these two female opera singers, a Russian and an Italian, when they perform The Flower Duet. Beautifully haunting. It won’t give up It wants me dead ‘N’ goddamn this noise inside my head
I wonder if they have anything on Trent like they do on all the other musicians and movie stars. Those who own everything. He's part of the system or he's not?
Satan beat the machine, became god and God, was consequently god and God all along, and is always making music as Doctor Michael "Trent" Reznor of Nine Inch Nails... And his other bands and musical stuff. Satan is announcing that Satan became god and God with this song. And, something about a little orphan Annie? Trent's brother...? Me? Half?
This has always been my favorite version of this song. So powerful!
For sure! All the still versions are my favorite! So damn good
same here
I remember listening to this probably 13 years ago and being blown away. Now, it only blows me away.
With these live videos and the album Still, the entire AATCHB is like an epilogue to NIN’s first big chapter. Thank you for posting these.
Halo 17 will always be my favorite.

Love the acoustics of the studio.
SAME why are more people not saying this haha
To this day, when pressed to say what my favorite NIN song is - it's this. And when pressed to say what my favorite video/performance is? It's this.

I'm stuck in this dream

Likely shot on digital, which in the 1990s means it's limited to 480p/576p standard definition
This is a near-masterpiece. Thanks so much for sharing it, Rob.
Fucking brilliant, Still has always been one of my favorite releases. This version of the becoming is amazing!!!
This. This is what a masterpiece sounds like

Trent climbed into out minds and illuminated every dark corner and we are better and wiser for it.

I feel like Trent’s throwing an angry look to someone playing an imperfect note on the first ‘me that you know’ round
I could be hours about how NiN and trent make such a cool and great sound but just watching and listen how they do it acoustic is fascinating thank yo Rob
Thanks for putting this back online, great quality!

What a loss to us music lovers… Now it’s what it’s feel like’s… Trent
goes absolutely crazy at 1.25x speed
I’ve had a demon haunting me since I was 7 and this represents it perfectly. I’m 29 now
I’ve always wondered what Travis Barker would look like without tattoos. Now I know
Pre-Katrina New Orleans was so amazing. Its a dead zone now

how completely irrelevant. Give the wifi password back to your carer and please stay off the internet, its bad for people like you.

Am I Satan, Trent? Can't escape a god. Am I the other lyricist? Sounds possessed.
The entire song can be interpreted from the perspective of Satan possessing Trent, and saying...? A lot. All of it. To Trent and to others.
Satan refuses for there to be any other members of Nine Inch Nails. Just Satan and Trent. Blood brothers.
It is MY machine. Because it is me.
Broken,
All,
That wants me dead.
And, God,
Dam/Damn this noise inside my head.

Could do without the overbearing drum beat. Rather hear Grant's bass line.
This isn't from 2001
Yeah it is.
Recorded in 2001
Released in January 2002
