He's one intense dude. I think he isn't now as much as he use to be. I think he seems so happy with his wife and children you can see joy radiate from his face now. I'm glad he has joy in his life.
fran jaff True. It's a good way for him to release his emotions like therapy for him. I think he has much more peace in his private life happily married with two children. I"m happy for him.
“And even when I’m right with you I’m so far away”. That is probably my favorite line from the song. I’m sure most people know the feeling of being close to the ones you love but feel 1,000,000 miles away.
Tracy.3 .....I have also held this track tightly to me!! (I see that my added comment is 3 years since your comment but it's alright). Ha ha! I been a fan since 1994 & when it comes to this track, it has always been resonante to me for some reason. I have seen the reason why after all these years. Been on a spiritual growth spurt for past 5 years & to me this track is saying "I'm becoming the greatest version of myself." The tracks that the majority of people know by NIN are great still but there is so much more in his music. A life story.
@@u12uNiiGuNx J only discovereed from watching Black Mirror at end & only then realize it was Miley Cyrus in the entire show-Yet she does this type of music so much better-She has the voice for it
Wow! He is truly musically gifted and doesn’t get the attention he deserves. Not only does he put together good music he actually plays the instruments
Pretty Hate Machine in my opinion is the best album in history was pretty much all him. Wrote all the songs. Sung and played all the instruments. Mixed and recorded it on his own. Taught himself how to run the recording booth at night on his own after cleaning the studio. That Album is Trent Reznor.
I love how the song has the most basic synth bass but is rich with intensity and expression. Like the flat desolation sung about in the song actually has a lot of depth and nuance.
I beat my machine It's a part of me It's inside of me I'm stuck in this dream It's changing me I am becoming The me that you know, he had some second thoughts He's covered with scabs He is broken and sore The me that you know He doesn't come around much That part of me... 11 years later but he mostly does use electronic music, but not produced on a computer, he started off on analog synthesiser, and the input is a keyboard. So it would follow he can play piano. He also slaps on the tambourine
my favorite nin song of all time. not only can i relate to it quite well and it has become a comfort song to me but also from a musical perspective its just incredible. trent is a mastermind
I don't know how many times this album brought me back from kissing the void, but this song, in particular, is the pinnacle of the album for me. I finally made some fundamental changes to who I was, and listening to this album now; it can be too much, but I wouldn't have been able to make it out the other side without it.
I LOVE Trents songs & can relate so much-Weird to only discover Nine Inch Nails all these years later- Thank you for the upload-I relate to this song so much like all the others-Its crazy
I'm listening to the downward spiral right now, and I really liked this song but I couldn't stand the screaming loop so I went looking for a different version. This is exactly what I wanted, beautiful
This is from Still; available with "All that Should have Been" originally in the early pressings, and by itself during that time. Hard to find and expensive now. I paid over $50 for my copy, but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.
Absolute artistic brilliance. Without a doubt one of my all time favorite NIN songs. I never go a day without listening to this version. Repeatedly. Another one of Trent's many masterpieces that I'm sure many a person aside from myself has related to at some point in their lives. Makes me just wanna jump around, sing, and break stuff. Magic.

couldn't agree with you more!
***** lol Your right about that! He's just a more content intense dude!

Paige Cat instead of doing party music trent needs to take his happy ass to the santas workshop for some christmas carols.
dappergen That's funny lol.
Almost two decades later, still one of the best love songs ever written.
“And even when I’m right with you I’m so far away”. That is probably my favorite line from the song. I’m sure most people know the feeling of being close to the ones you love but feel 1,000,000 miles away.
I concour
This is me right now...
That and "I'm don't wanna listen, but it's all too clear."
This man is a fucking genius.
My favorite NIN song and this version makes my body tingle.
+Tracy Vanity total magic
Hahahaha nice girly

Yes more more darkness more wanted despair
What I would give to have been in that room when this masterpiece was recorded.
Please don’t watch the daily wire seriously
NIN is a way of life. If you really get it, then you know. No further explanation needed.
What amazes me is that more people don't know. It's just baffling.
💘💘
It really is, I was first introduced to them by somewhat damaged on an ep of the walking dead, been hooked since then
@@thisisisabella3634 I agree

Drummer is so perfect here, awesome.
He’s absolutely trying to murder those drums at the end. Incredible !
That blast beat..
He is awesome everywhere
Wow! He is truly musically gifted and doesn’t get the attention he deserves. Not only does he put together good music he actually plays the instruments
Trent is god he has enough attention.
Exactly

I'm pretty sure this song is from The Downward Spiral, not The Fragile.
+Onmysheet absolutly !
Yes, the original version of this song is from the downward spiral, but this particular version is from Still. NIN forever.
+Gerald Gomez "Still" often gets confused with "The Fragile" since "the fragile" song is also in the "Still" album.
+Onmysheet You THINK? it is from TDS.
Jonathan Vazquez-Perez I said I was sure, not that I think.
Best version of this song ever.
My favorite NiN song actually, and I only have 194 on my ipod...
Definetly not. All the synth lead and the torture screams are a big part of this song.
The live at Sasquatch Festival version is incredible.
@arachosia is it? Thanks I'm gonna check it out rn!
@5echo5images my favorite, well 2 of them, are Pilgrimage & La Mer.
I wish they'd do acoustic versions like this of more of their songs. IMO this kicks the studio version's ass
They did an entire album www.nin.wiki/Still
Absolutely agree!
I beat my machine
It's a part of me
It's inside of me
I'm stuck in this dream
It's changing me
I am becoming
The me that you know, he had some second thoughts
He's covered with scabs
He is broken and sore
The me that you know
He doesn't come around much
That part of me...
Isn't here anymore
All pain disappears
It's the nature of...
Of my circuitry
Drowns out all I hear
No escape from this
My new consciousness
The me that you know
He used to have feelings
But the blood has stopped pumping and he is left to decay
The me that you know is now made up of wires
And even when i'm right with you i'm so far away
I can try to get away
But I've strapped myself in
I can try to scratch away
The sound in my ears
I can see it killing away
All of my bad parts
I don't want to listen
But it's all too clear
Hiding
Backwards inside of me
I feel... so unafraid
Annie, hold a little tighter
I might just slip away
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
It won't give up, it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
This is totally a ballad of Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader. The lyrics really justify it too.
He’s so good!
Tommy Lee took a helicopter to his show he didn’t want to miss any part of it
How about the Crow?
The finality of his piano playing is so deliberate, precise, full body chills, dramatic effect, fuck me this music resonates hard
it wont give up, it wants me dead, god damn this voice inside my head
That Part Of Me..... Isn't Here Anymore.
I like that Trent can actually play the piano. I thought that he used only electronically produced sounds.. Proves me wrong :) Awesome!
11 years later but he mostly does use electronic music, but not produced on a computer, he started off on analog synthesiser, and the input is a keyboard. So it would follow he can play piano. He also slaps on the tambourine
He did all the music by himself at the start
You know you have to play on a keyboard to produce said “electronic sounds”

I beat my machine. Its a part of me. Its inside of me.
Amazing performance!
Back at it again with the candles
Love the raw clean transition to the production!

The description is wrong it says the becoming from the album the fragile when its from the downward spiral
Trent, I'm in love with you! This is so good!
So intense a beautiful piece!still in 2021 in love w them like 1989!!!!!
Best performance ever.
Excellent! Always knew Trent could do straight instruments marvelously. Only a couple add ons and the good ol' electric guitar at points!
Truly a genius revolutionary artist creator and individual
May God Bless all the Works of his hands.
Best version ever!
A legend at work... in these early years of greatness.
Great voice!!
Genuis 🖤👑😎
There's so much emotion in this... I love it! Amazing song and band.

More to love-Another great version of another great Nine Inch Nails song-Come tour around NY 2022 Please
Love the live/studio versions! One of my faves and hopefully the noise in my head will help.
Wish there was a LOVE button for this...
Yesterday, my 9 yo son asked me : "Professor Snape is doing music now ?"
duuuude the more HP films to come out, the more and more Snape (RIP Alan Rickman!) looked like Trent - im so glad your kid picked up on it!
I'll take "Parental embellishment for 1000, Alex"
This song speaks volumes...
Great performance. I wonder how many more songs they did that day. I want that footage
magnificent
Straight up - this version MIGHT be better than the album's.
Severus Snape did let out his feelings after Lily's death
I seen NIN LIVE in Phoenix in 2014
This is from Still; available with "All that Should have Been" originally in the early pressings, and by itself during that time. Hard to find and expensive now. I paid over $50 for my copy, but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.
It still wants me dead in 2019.
Fuggin awesome!
1:10 When he looks over. Damn, that was hard!!!!!
Professor Snape is so talented!
Best.
the me that you know is now made up of wires and even when i'm right with you, i'm so far away

Fun song to play
Can't stop watching...!
Awesome!! Awesome!! Awesome!!!
Goddamn this performance is good!
Yes he is

the best song thank''''s
Love your piano Trent! (And you of course) :)
This is from Downward Spiral but there is a version on the limited release on The Fragile
👍👍👍 OUTSTANDING!
Wow!
2:49 can anyone tell me the chords he's playing please?
G, F, C, Bb, F, C, F.
Look up "Nine Inch Nails The Becoming" on MuseScore for a full arrangement (though it uses notation rather than tablature)
Ceane Cilias thanks

❤❤❤❤
It's identical because this version IS the one featured on 'Still' and not on 'The Fragile' at all, the description is just incorrect.
Still-Great
I need friends like u
Such an unique voice! The music ain't bad either.
Holy crap this guy is good. Mark my words, he's gonna win an oscar some day.
he has 2
And a country music award.
And a Grammy.
Great headphones
