A Full Day at Mossend Railway Yard (South End)
On 10th October 1991
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Mossend Yard (South End) taken on 10/10/1991. Iset up early as daylight broke only intending to stay a few hours but as the day's weather was too good an opportunity to miss and the location lived up to expectations I remained there till it started to get dark. Thanks to the other photographers who came and went I was kept up to date with the daily workings. All the classes of traction you would expect to see made an appearance so I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. I don't know what was better. Watching the trains or listening to the patter from Rab C and Jamsie working away in the scrap yard trying hard to obliterate everyone in smoke or by the crane😄 Excellent video. Thanks for posting it.

Many many thanks.....yes and their dog barking all the time....cars hanging precariously close to the fence and wires and of course the shouting from the ol geezer in charge(Arthur Daley.....) much appreciated and all adds to the atmosphere.....miss it myself loads....Mark

Never got there on foot but paused a few times for traction changeovers on The Clansman services in the early 80s.

We used to work the Clansman funnily enough from Motherwell to Perth and the Up Clansman from Inverness.....such an unreliable timekeeper, but great times.....many thanks for your wonderful comment and for watching....mark
