    “Such a good riff, man that’s good “ says you and anyone else who’s ever heard any riff ever played by Stone, Mike, or Ed, including Stone, Mike, and Ed. What another truly amazing tune! Thank you good sir.

    Great stuff! I've noticed that Stone and Mike both love that funky B Chord on the Second Fret..... Mike is INCREDIBLE but for me Stone is the intricate player/writer in the Group... Pure Genius. Just my opinion... The outro has Stone's fingerprints all over it!

      Love this outro live, it's such a different beast. I'd wager Ed had a hand in the outro with that Who style break down ;-)

    So after I heard you nail that tone with your new Mike guitar, I’ve been humming to this tune. I played it on my RC-3 looper and have been jamming on it for two hours straight😅 My wife got mad and told me to «*%🐾🚀🤞🏻☀️ off».

    Never saw this one in concert. Only 6 shows for me since the tour for the second album though. Not at night 2 of PJ 20 either. But this song makes me feel something close to sadness but it’s not the right word. Thanks for the lesson!

      Let's Play All , makes much more sense...I cannot think of many songs with an instrumental section at the end like that, and it is such cool sounding jam, switching back to the opening theme at the end. Great lesson thank you!

    I appreciate your channel, but.. While the notes here are mostly right, the tuning is not the right one and thus the way you play the song in this video is uselessly a bit more tiring.. Mike uses this tuning: DADGAD (low to high, it's basically a slight variation of the open D, and allows for a way easier way to play the main riff). I also noticed you use a wrong tuning for Deep too. These are just friendly advices, please don't take it personally :) If you look at the back of the Breath/SOLAT 7" single released a while back for RSD, for example, you'll see some tunings for Stone (Deep included).

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  5 років тому

      rob eddie A hidden treasure map of tunings you say?! I was not aware of this! What’s the tuning for deep then cos returning to open A is a pain 😀 I’ll have another look at Mike’s main riff, appreciate the feedback 🤘

    • @robeddie4357
      @robeddie4357 5 років тому +1

      @@LetsPlayAll Happy to help out.. I'm going to comment on your Deep video too, anyway that single just shows a stage paper sheet with a list of songs, indicating the alternate tunings for three songs (Garden drop D, Even Flow open D, and Deep open A).
      As for Present Tense, Mike uses here the same tuning he uses for Given to Fly so to speak, you can hear that open G string throughout during the verses and see the fingers position if you watch some live video.. anyway, to give you a start, main riff for PT (with the correct tuning): 6th string open, 2nd string 12th fret, 4th string 12th fret.. and then the same position when you play 6th string on 10th and 9th frets.. you can also use a bit of harmonics here and there during the riff, if you feel like it, using the 12th's..

      @@robeddie4357 Cool thanks Rob, i'll check it out and do a follow up vid. Nice find on the 7" single - i had Deep in open A but i can see Stone is using a slightly different variant so will revisit that at some point too. Cheers for keeping me honest :-)
