This fck song was one of the things that took me out of a depression. PJ is my safe home for 23 years.
PJ is my safe home, too.
Me too, brother. Got a tattoo to honor this masterpiece
This and I am MINE. Keep me alive. Thru the crap. ❤
Same here. Kept me alive, without a doubt
How sweet was it for Last Dance to close out with this underrated masterpiece 😏
good song, not great. would've been sweeter had they bothered to mention the band's relationship w/ rodman in the doc. vedder even sang the national anthem before game 3 of the '98 finals
GOAT BAND FOR A GOAT DOC
@@dice1296 Thanks for adding more detail to this
MJ and PJ! The very best of the USA.
@@dice1296 The Rodman link has absolutely no relevance to the documentary.
Eddie, thanks for sticking around. You matter a lot.
We need to appreciate PJ in the present tense....one day Wikipedia will say Pearl Jam "was" an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990
Curtis Kleebaum 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🤦🤦🤦
When you put it like that, Fuck!!!!
Oh fuck, don't talk like that
Greatest fucking band in the world. I don't even want to think about that day.
This makes me sad
The greatest band ever - I am 48 now ( God that sucks saying lol) and they been with me for my whole life - I am most certainly grateful .
I’m 54. I couldn’t agree more bro.
im 49 and same, cant live a week without listen Eddie
I'm almost 65 I have been a huge Pearl Jam fan since album Ten came out in 1991!! Long Live Pearl Jam!! 😊💓🤘✌️
Eddie letting the crowd sing, that's one of the reasons I love PJ, the energy sharing is so honest in both ways. No poses here.
Thats my thoughts exactly!!!!
Eddie letting sing crowd the hardest part of the song ;)
The greatest band ever
That was one of those "Pearl Jam Moments" that the fans who were in the room as well as us who weren't will never forget/cherish to our death bed. Thank god for Pearl Jam
Definitely
You can spend your time alone redigesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize...
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself. -Just. Fucking. Perfect.-
Saw Pearl Jam in 90'/91'. Since then I've been to 70 or 80 concerts. I've seen dozens of bands from Rock,Punk even Blues. But, that PJ Show was the most electric and energized concert I ever saw. Eddie actually climbed the scaffolding, stood on the speakers about 30ft up and stage dived. He landed right on me and a friend. First thing he did was to ask us "You alright?". He then surfed back to the stage, grabbed the mic and continued singing. That was the best bruise/concert Injury I ever had. EPIC!
No Code was totally underrated. That album was amazing!
Agreed.
My favourite one.
A MASTERPIECE ALBUM! Agreed
Has been my favorite since it released 💗
I doubt the band really give a shit about how the album is rated.
Agreed. I love this album.
the crowd fucking amazing
I noticed from the tshirts in the crowd, the entire crowd was full of MAJOR PJ fans. I'd say at least half are 10 club members.
Eddie, is a true zen warrior and rock and roll God.
If not for our house fire this year and my battle with depression and suicide, I would have done everything to get a side job to see my band that has helped saved my life in MN
You gonna be able to see them on this upcoming tour?
The Last Dance took me here. Lyrically beautiful
The measure of the greatest music is its ability to MOVE you at the deepest spiritual place within your being. Pearl Jam is very rare in that there are many song in their catalog that can do that. But this one in particular can stop me in my tracks and bring chills and tears at the meer sound of the opening notes. I love this particular version for the audience singing the chorus. I have no words for how that verse makes me feel.
Of course Last Dance brought me here. Watching MJ rise from that chair to the sound of present tense was the biggest gift to my ears and eyes.
Eddie's interaction with his fans is incredible. He is extremely humble and grateful!🤩
😍
This song + crowd singing = big time chills.
goosebumps when the audience sang \m/
I've got goosebumps every time I hear PJ 😂😁
I've always loved the message in this song. No Code is this bands secret weapon of an album.
Big fan of No Code as well. Something about this song, up in my tree and smile.
BP O not to mention off he goes
Epic album, def one of their best and most underrated. Yield is still my personal favorite though.
@@Shammrock62 In My Tree a top PJ song of all time.
Off he goes is my favorite PJ song
Many people say that the album "Ten" and specifically the song "Alive" saved their lives, in my case "Present Tense" and this wonder called "No Code" did exactly the same on me, thanks Eddie, Jeff, Mike, Stone and Jack for such beautiful artpiece.
No song has ever saved anybody's life. People who say that are deluded.
The same rolling of eyes
Thank you "The Last Dance" for making this great song your encore song of the great documentary you are. 🤘🤘
thats a proper crowd!
Eddie just wows the audience. The audience show their appreciation by singing along and becoming part of Pearl Jam. Love you Eddie 💖💖
The Last Dance brought me here
Dan Mitchell if anyone thinks someone is greater then Jordan after watching that show they are sadly mistaken. LeBron by the end of his career might be close but it’s jordan baby
The same for me, dude! 🤘🤘
The same as well
Same! 😂
Same haha
Letterman had the best ...miss the old times.
This song is special and thought provoking!
I love when he lets the crowd sing to that hard rocking chorus
The intricacies of Stone make this outro so much.
So true
I love so many PJ songs but this one is a constant in my top 5.
life changing music
F*ing brilliant song and lyrics!
God I love Eddie he takes my breathe away
Omg yes ❤
Love how Jeff is just chillin
This song makes you feel the vibrations of life...enjoy your state my friends
One thing I love about Pearl Jam is that they rock, but a lot of their songs are optimistic. The women getting away from abuse, the child escaping abuse (she holds the hand that holds her down, she will rise- best lyric line EVER) .
Man...this song
Perfection.
Oohhh my goodness that was sooo amazing!! I cried when I heard the audience sing!! I LOVE PEARL JAM FOREVER!!! 😊💓🤘✌️
You love them so much you call them Pearl.
@@whoneedsposers yes, I do leave out important words out sometimes, I love Pearl Jam, 😊💓🤘✌️
Presence ❤
Truly Beautifully Blessed

Song of my life. Thanks Pearl Jam
these guitar sounds are godlike
Ive always found certain pieces of music from each of their albums that hit the mark for me.
I love Jeff’s bass line starting at 3:25
What a fantastic performance! Love Pearl Jam! ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Just love growing up with their songs and learning each day something new.
Present. November 2018.
Love you Pearl Jam!!! 💖🎶✌🏼
No Code, best PJ album
I want to see those coming from The Last Dance :))
God I love this song
i love this song. his voice is amazing.
Best song they have ever done if you ask me!
I got goosebumps after hearing them sing
Greatest band ever!!!!!
What a fantastic song to be singing along with Ed and the band. It was the most intimate and wonderful experience I've ever had that day at the Letterman Aftershow! A day I'll not soon forget. Thanks for the video.
Schatzie DeLuca-Dixon sorry is the fool who did not get to see this show
Im bummed I wasnt there, but happy so many knew the lyrics to a song that wasnt Black or Jeremy.
ellrick Exactly,I was surprised that almost everyone sang
It's almost always a highlight of the show :)
ellrick dude this was fan club only
@@patclaerhout4491 That would seem to change OP's comment :(
The audience singing - so cool! Pearl Jam forever!
music, lyric, voice, solos, drums.. all is perfect!
Pearl Jam, Brasil loves you!
You can’t do better than Pearl Jam in 2006. They were at the absolute PEAK of their powers then. Not that they aren’t still great today, but this version of them is really tough to beat
Agreed!
I love this band so much.❤️
I love this band.
Do you see the way that tree bends? Does it inspire?
Leaning out to catch the sun's rays...a lesson to be applied...
Are you gettin' something out of this all encompassing trip?
You can spend your time alone redigesting past regrets oh...
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah...
Makes much more sense to live in the present tense...
Have you ideas on how this life ends?
Checked your hands and studied the lines?
Have you the belief that the road ahead ascends off into the light?
Seems that needlessly it's gettin' harder
To find an approach and a way to live...
Are we gettin' something out of this all-encompassing trip?
You can spend your time alone redigesting past regrets, oh...
Or you can come to terms and realize...
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself, oh...
A-makes much more sense to live in the present tense...
That's song is it so beatiful in so many ways, that can't be described in words.
Cheers to the crowd rocking out! Nice
The Last Dance 😭
Thank you PEARL JAM! I LOVE SONG!
Best song of PJ, my fav at least, cheers from Spain mates
Love you Eddie 💟💟💟💟
I just sat and drank rum and smiled throughout the whole of this. Not a lot makes me happy.
Man what a feeling it musta been to be there!! 🤘💚 I did have the pleasure and honor of seeing them in concert back in 2005 which was still the most amazing experience of my life!!!
mind blowing!
Thank you Last Dance
Wow they had so much groove in this version.
Why does PJ sound so damn good when they come to Dave’s show? The sound guys do such a great job from the band or the theatre, but something about their concerts/shows/songs they do at the Ed Sullivan that sound so much different than other locations.
I love the bass of the second part of the song, Jeff really kills it!
oh yeh thats it fo me since I've heard this song for the 1st time ... 1995
This song is so cool, especially played in those days of the avocado tour! I wish you could do something up to tempo, aggressive, committed and rough like Avocado again someday, Pearl Jam! (even if you haven't time to read all these comments, at least it's a wish eheh)
Im good with that...please, oh please dont do anything like Lightning Bolt ever again!
Oh man, I understand that things change, circumstances and the context is not the same anymore, but I don't know why, I really liked the 2006 tour from what I could see on internet. It seemed to be so energetic! At the same time I know some fans who don't like Avocado or say that it is the beginning of the end. hehe I don't know, at the same time I really enjoy some tracks from Lightning Bolt too, but I prefer Avocado, Binaural, No Code, Riot Act, etc. At the end of last year 2016 and beginning of this year 2017 I was really enjoying Binaural and listening to it really often! Okay, between Avocado and Lightning Bolt there is Backspacer, an album that is not my favourite but can be fun sometimes. hehehe Let's see, something good may come soon! We have an interesting context nowadays too. The inspiration for Riot Act and Avocado were a context that was somehow similar to nowadays (difficult times, unfortunately).
My God! Still So Amazing!
Maravilloso 💙🎸
Jeremy V o?
My favourite Pearl jam song ever!!!!
So beautful, im in tears...
PJ forever 🙌🏼 🎸🥁🎶🖤!
Now that’s an audience. Rock out at the end is the best!
i can tell the fans in that show and in this page are PJ freaks.
Me to.
@AMJH 4LAH hell no
Love this
Beautiful song
Absolutely beautifully sung, awesome, God Bless you all
Forever the best band!
2:34 omg eddie...
This song cuts right to my heart. Glorious!
God bless you guys!! Such an inspiration for me over the years!
I love the way he sings "makes much more sense" at 2:52
Quando o Ed olha pra cima cm os olhos é encantador, que voz! Não é à toa que é o melhor do mundo💜Que homem charmoso,Ser Humano INCRÍVEL!!!!
For David Letterman to let Pearl Jam hold a 10 song concert inside Ed Sullivan Theater is the reason Eddie asked David to induct them into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Please upload the entire webcast. Love this version
What an incredible performance!! One of my favorite PJ songs, this made my day thank you Pearl Jam!!!!
Amazing song!!!!!!!
One thing out of millions reasons I love Pearl Jam is this song and many others, it has layers, first just Mike guitar and Eddie's singing and then Matt drums and Jeff bass and then Stone guitar and Boom, sooo awesome!!! 😊💓🤘✌️
I forgot how good this song was.... thank you Last Dance for reminding me
