Why hasn't this guy got a million views? He's fantastic.
I think Go is that important too, and thank you.
This is the only channel that teaches quality Pearl Jam songs, it’s great
Thanks for that Lub :)
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
True dat!
I
disagree .they are WRONG
You totally nailed this one. The song has such a great groove and seems complicated, but you did a great job simplifying it. Thank you so much!
Thank you Adam!
Once again, I’m more than impressed…I’ve been listening to pj since 92, so just seeing someone play the song, it’s in my head already, let’s it just fly out…
And the alternative ways of playing different parts, really helps me learn more about guitar in general…thanks man…
best to you good sir
Brilliant thanks Ryan love your enthusiasm for pj especially!
Thanks Chris! Yeah, I totally dig other stuff, and you'll see me get enthusiastic here and there, but most of my brimming over with enthusiasm moments will be PJ :)
It takes a lot for me to watch a lesson and make it feel within reach and you're consistently doing that for me! Thank you!
thank you for that Alex :) cheers :)
Awesome! One of my favorite Pearl Jam songs
yay!
I just found this channel by chance and I love this man!

One more time, thanks Ryan.

Awesome tutorial!
Thanks Connor!
Ryan Lendt you’re welcome, and thanks for the tutorial
You are amazing!!
that's what my mom says too. are you guys friends??
Ryan Lendt lol you are probably so cool to hang out with! And that's really cool that you take the time to respond to your fans, I'm sure you get bombarded with messages everyday
I'm 100% as cool as you think I am Chris. j/k I mostly just like to play golf so I'm afraid I'm quite dull. unless you like golf. We're at an all time high of 500 comments/month, which I couldn't be more excited about :) I love starting my day with a cup of batman coffee and tending to all of your lovely queries. I'd imagine I can't keep it up forever, but i don't think it's quite half of what I can handle yet, so we shall continue for quite some time in this fashion :)
Ryan Lendt yeah please!! Even tho I've been playing for 18 years,I had to teach myself and you're style is very patient,I found your channel by accident around a month ago, ive been on it every day going down the list, your a very good teacher, and 4 times since I've started watching your videos I have been playing quite a few songs wrong so that's kind of aggravating having to retrain myself to do it right after playing it wrong for 10 years
Yo!! That is so Awesome!!! Than you!!!
you're welcome Chris!
great class like all yours, please Ryan teach the riff of Larkin Poe's Problem song
oh boy - new tune for me! I've added it to the list, thanks Daniel!
Great lesson man. Please consider doing one on "Zero Chance" by Soundgarden.
it's not a matter of if, but when - of course I'll do Zero Chance, thank you for the request Shawn :)
Ryan Lendt I second this
I'm sorry to keep asking you questions, but do you know if they're is any video content from "live on two legs" I would love to watch Mike play the solo in black from that live album
I haven't the slightest clue :) But I think you just assigned yourself the role of FINDER OF THIS INFORMATION :P Good luck squire!
I had to listen to the song again when I heard you play the main riff. You break it into two parts. When it is actually played both times round with the aecond rhythm.
I know I’ve been asking for requests a lot, but you should play Rocking in the free world. It’s ok if not. I’ve been extremely needed lately
hehe of course I'll do that one!
Bro this channel simply rocks. Frickin chickin you keep lickin! I am gonna be a subscriber!
thanks my dude :)
Could you please, do a lesson of “brother” by pearl jam
YES! :)
deeeeeep cut
I thought Stone was in open D for this one. Very similar to play but means he can play fuller chords. Could be wrong.
I'd argue that's not the case, because you can see him in the 10th fret position for his chorus riff, which wouldn't be possible in open D - BUT you could certainly get it done and that would be a fun way to play it :)
Awesome again. How do you pick out that the song is in Drop D tuning? Just “feel” thingy or do you have some sort of Go-Go-Gadget Hearing going on?? Thanks for breaking it down. \m/
Well, 10 years of teaching guitar 40 hours per week, I do have Go-Go-Gadget hearing going on (funny - i accidentally figured out the theme song to that yesterday. I think I should teach that lol) HOWEVER, it's a simple question of logic... the lowest note you hear in the song is lower than E, so you just go down until you find it :) All the other voicings are familiar sounding, so it can be deduced that it's not some weirdo open tuning, rather just drop D :) A funny thing happens when you use your ears that much over years... you literally start to see the notes, not like with your eyes, but in your brain it feels like you're looking at them rather than hearing them. That's the best I can explain it :) Additionally, my sense of direction has become increasingly worse with my improving listening skills, so I surmise that those two areas of the brain are located near one another and compete for resources.
Ryan Lendt Well......I guess my problem is a good sense of direction, now I have a good excuse for struggling at the guitar;). Inspector Gadget was my 007 as a youngster. In all seriousness that’s best explanation of how someone has an ear for notes, most people just say I don’t know it just happens. Thanks!
INSPECTOR GADGET WAS MINE TOO! Did you (or do you) also enjoy Get Smart because Don Adams of that show was the voice of gadget :)
Not too much into Get Smart, but I can’t wait for my 2 boys to be a little older and I can start pulling up old Gadget cartoons. Fingers crossed they’re into it also.......my wife’s worst nightmare lol!!
I'll cross my fingers for you too :P!
Dude, your jokes are so lame! I love it! Lol 😂 Thanks for the great tutorials.
hehe. you get me.
@@RyanLendt so it would seem. 👍🏻 I still have my vintage Kermit (1976, "Made in Mexico") from when I was a baby, so maybe that's part of it.
Can you please do “Pearl Jam Do The Evolution”
-Erik Neufeld
I've done that twice
@@RyanLendt Oh, Thx
You have so may videos up, did you cover rearview mirror? Or rats?
I did both of those!!
please Ryan , CHORDS SIMPLE WHY GO ,PEARL JAM, __________ ROGER FROM BRASIL
great request Roger!
Entertaining and educational lol
greetings palphie!
@@RyanLendt hey this is a great video I subscribed to your account 🤙
pretty late to the party but you sure the pull off on the main riff is 320 (3)? thought it was more 020 (3)?!?!
I just gave it a listen - pretty sure it's 3 - but you should play it however it pleases you :)
steel drums?theres NO stell drums on the record?
I have no clue what you're referring to
Don't know another song with this tuning? Try thing back to Zeppelin! I think you just gave me the REAL tuning instead of my made up one. Thanks,M w Hayes in NJ
I was born in NJ. Say hello to it for me!
solo?????
someday when i'm feeling masochistic :)
official PJ tuning is DADABE
and i think its just a quick hammer-off second fret to open on the A string (like a hop) instead of 3-2-Open.
We really appreciate your input Matthew :) thank you!
this is way off, there no b and c note before the slide.its not in the verse
the fact of the matter is, you don't think there is and I do, and nothing either of us can say will change either of our minds :) funny enough, I got the damned tuning wrong, it's supposed to be in open D! which doesn't change much except for making the power chords one note thicker (and not power chords any more but major chords) other than that (huge oversight) I feel great about my analysis of this song.
@@RyanLendt the fact of the matter is i KNOW there is not.watch them play it.
I don’t recall what I said in this video, but you inspired me to give it a careful listen at Half speed and I’m hearing 4 syllables in the run after the 023 on the low D string - it’s really hard to pinpoint the notes because it’s so fast and there are multiple instruments doing it very almost at once, so I’m surmising that it’s 0320 on the A string before the slide up based on notes heard at SOME point in those four syllables/what is possible to play that fast.
ONE day, you will get at least one Pearl Jam song right.
I have no idea how you meant that. But either way is fine :)
Post your lesson shitbag troll
Is this a lesson on how to make cat noises 😂
secretly what all my lessons are...
@@RyanLendt ironically I was looking for a lesson on Animal lol 😹
