Yet another enjoyable repair video. I not only like how well you do the repairs but I also like the subtle humor of things like the WD40 Reenactment. You can also never go wrong with googly eyes. Congrats on another successful repair.
Oh ,,, I was swatching this and thinking “yeah I know all this “ then I saw it … it made watching it all worth while !!!! Isopropyl on the blade to lift the ribbon cables 🤯.. you learn something every day !!!!
When you are glueing all the black flat stuff to the back case what glue do you use please? Is that when you use the gorilla super glue listed in your 'Tools'?
Actually I use a thin "Tesa" double sided tape. Unless I think the existing adhesive is still usable. Would have to look back through invoices from years ago to find the model number of it.
I watched again and could see the double sided tape you use at a number of stages as i watched more closely. Thank you for being patient and replying anyway.
Thanks! I was just using my Samsung S10e, now I use an S22 + a Hyper X Quadcast microphone. I also have a Sony Zv-e10, which I occasionally use but not often. Then I have some cheap studio lights, several articulating arms, and tripods.
Hey sorry to bother you but I have an iPhone 8 Plus which I replaced the housing, battery, and display and when fitted with all new parts it has no backlight and now bootloops. I tested the phone and it worked perfectly before I "repaired" it. Do you know what could have caused this? Thx. great vid btw your vids are so detailed and professional
I'm not sure sorry. It could be a dodgy screen that has a short in it, or a cheap battery without the proper circuit protection. Or you may have damaged something if you didn't have the battery disconnected when reconnecting all the parts. Or there could've been ESD damage if ESD safety wasn't adhered to. You could try reddit /mobilerepair for some help. Sounds like a tricky issue.
@@RestoreTechnique I forgot to mention that the display is refurbished and I tested it before installing it.. I thought I was grounded properly but I guess not lol. thanks:)
Thanks! It was just some scrap pieces of double sided foam tape. Sometimes some generic double sided adhesive comes with a phone screen you buy off ebay, and that was one I had lying around.
@@armza9975 I usually use a ruler and an xacto knife. I thought I'd try using my material cutter, not sure if I would go to the effort of getting it out and designing the cutting on a regular basis.
Actually ! You heat up screen as normal , work your way around the edge , starting at the top - mind the cables on the right side - when you are at the bottom carefully free as much as you can , add more heat … then flip the phone upside down with the top frame resting on something about 5mm off the table and gently prise the screen down ward ( having to pulled a small bit away from the frame ) wiggling slightly - this slides the screen holders off the end of the screw posts , and when free of them the screen is now free - carefully open the screen and detach ( battery first !) if it’s like the iPhone 11 Pro Max - you just need a set of small Narrow pliers ( not tweezers ) to grip the screw - twist and unscrew using this method - replace with new screws !!! It can be done - patience and heat , and a set of tiny pointed pliers will do it !!
Haha, at first I thought it was just dead skin cells, hair, dust, ear wax. But then I noticed some gunk on the frame, which looked like custard or something.
I recommend everybody that does regular phone repairs to get the Y000 (for the trywing screws) Pentalobe 1PL 266P and PH00 261P from the Wiha Picofinish series. Since I bought that set 6 years ago I have never stripped a screw again!
well more screws means more protection to each parts of body to keep them tightly in but they should give more focus on "Panel Strenght" Even after this much screws main screen is weakest :(
For a cell phone tech, I've NEVER used the crappy blue plastic "opener". They just don't work. Get yourself a good quality isesamo. You'll never go back.
Im Having this same fuckin issue 😡 and i cant replace for better repair kit parts because i dont have any money to do that right now im so annoyed and pissed tf off
Poor design im so bothered that i payed for a screen repair kit and accidentally stripped the right screw and i cant open the damn get the acre out from off the phone cant detach it and i dont even have a damn hairdryer either this sucks big time dont like it

One of the best hands ever seen working on an iPhone!! Great Job!!
WOW, really enjoyed this thorough teardown! The macro shots are stunning and very clever to open a drawing app to pinpoint the damaged screen.
Thanks man! 😄
I wonder how many hours this took....
Loved this video, its so relaxing to watch :)
Most people forget to clean the headphond jack. Nice you remembered.
😄👍
Nice repair superb work looks like a brand new phone
Cheers bro :)
That has to be the cleanest wireless charger transfer I've ever seen

This guy is crazy perfectionist. He even laser cuts seal adhesives.
😆 adhesive seal is bought like that. Edit: oops, I thought you meant the frame adhesive, I forgot that I cut some other adhesive parts.

Amazing technique
the battery will remain open-eyed forever. lol

Lmao I thought I was only one who used the rubber band method on screws 🤣
Yeah I don't know if it's ever been successful for me though lol

Awesome job! such great attention to detail! What is the name of that adhesive that you used the machine to precision cut?
Thanks! It was just some scrap pieces of double sided foam tape. Sometimes some generic double sided adhesive comes with a phone screen you buy off ebay, and that was one I had lying around.
do you think you can get like as a precise just with scissors? buying that machine is too expensive just for a one time use

Where did you buy the battery?
FMA parts
Leasgoooo joshiiiiii
I still can't open it cus the screw is connected to the glass and it is completely shut
Mine was still connected to the glass too
Why do they put locktite and smoke the screws on?

I have an isesamo, I never use it. Prefer plastic tools that won't scratch.
This takes alot of patience.
I really want to have a iphone xs max but cant be able to find it any were for sale
