Rabeas an honest man, I think he's too much of an honest guy to the point he wouldn't review something bad just to get a cash grab. You know what you get with him.

In most analogue delay pedals, even with delay mix way below the direct guitar signal, runaway feedback becomes louder than the guitar signal and with a high headroom amp just deafens everyone in the vicinity. I use DOD Rubberneck for this kind of effect, but I just HAVE to put it before overdrive so the overdrive acts as the limiter.
I bought this pedal and am several months in now. The price was high and gave me pause before purchasing. So how do I feel now after a few months? I feel like the surface knobs and comprehensive understanding is easy to perceive and remember when programming. The BPM on the digital screen speaks my language and I love that I turn the knob and see the increments of time. The fidelity of sound is so authentic and distinct. I wish it was like $100.00 less, but I like that I went for the pedal anyway as I have found so many cool sounds. It seems to be the kind of guitar gear that is top tier in both sound and construction. It is very dimensional. It certainly has it's own vibe. If your budget allows it, and your passion for making distinct guitar sounds drive you heavily, you should go for it. It is inspiring and I have created some cool sounds from both thinking before manipulation of the pedal and then also after just spending lots of time dialing up interesting sounds for original material. It is intuitive. If you are a delay fiend, you should investigate.
I think it is available already. Suhr stated that they’ve already sent to some dealers at the time of launch. I ordered one a week and a half ago with estimated deliver the coming week…
You have the best demo video I have seen on this Suhr Discovery, convince me enough to buy one! Can't wait to get it Monday! I had a Future Factory, but it wasn't my thing, just the digital thing, I guess. The Suhr pedal has everything I need and more, sounds incredible without getting in the way. Great video....
Rabea, I like how you made it clear that this is your opinion of this pedal based on your specific gear and your playing. Most pedals, can be made to sound good with specific gear...it takes a bit of patience and deep tweaking.

Taking a hard look at this vs. the DM-101 vs. the Brig. I've caught the analog delay bug. The Brig sounds fantastic, but it's almost its own thing, doesn't do the really gnarly 'analog' degraded tone, but the tones it does do are beautiful in their own right and its light/small as a feather. I really love the screen and design choices of the Suhr Discovery and filter controls. Basically I'm debating if I'd prefer the sound of the DM-101 (which doesn't have filter controls, no screen, and is a larger footprint) over this, as otherwise this seems great. I don't think I'd used the stereo in my setup, as at most I go wet/dry.
great review, thanks. I was soooo close to getting one of these, precisely because of the expression mapping and control. I hope in the future many other [delay] pedals will have this feature. (I got a delay llama extreme instead, incidentally, coz of it's 'playability')
The into Delay sounds like the the same sound I use to get when I ran my delay though this pedal called Analogizer by electroharmonix I guess now you can get this sound out of one pedal this is pretty sick

He's already writing new music by the time we all start thinking "Oooh shit, that sounds nice!". That's when I hit "Buy" anyway.
When you mentioned the expression pedal controlling any function being unique to this pedal, the Strymon El Capistan can do it as well. Just the primary functions mind, but any knob on the front can be controlled which is handy. Love that tape sound 👌 It's also near half the price with many secondary functions for toneshaping- bass/high cut, dB headroom etc. But then it's digital not analogue like this, so horses for courses I guess. Edit: My mistake, I should've watched the rest of the video! The El Cap can only control one parameter at a time with expression, rather than everything simultaneously like you can on this

The part at 19:20 where Rabea is demonstrating the expression pedal( where he calls for other developers to take inspiration) is getting into Tom Scholz of Boston fame. That PBS segment where he(Tom SCholz) demonstrates that crazy similar effect has yet to be truly replicated. And...Tom developed that in the "70's! Anyone who knows how to do that today please tell me!!!!!🙏

Must have watched every single delay pedal review from this genius and I have to say the £600 price tag Suhr have put on this is ridiculous. I know not all guitarists are created equal but from the sheer number of delay pedals Rabea has reviewed for us we have a pretty constant barometer of what one is capable of and he 100% makes pedals 1/3 of this cost sound better.
I've just received mine, plugged in a footswitch to cycle through pre sets and it does nothing. Any ideas/ help with this? Do I need to go into a menu so it knows its a momentary footwitch? Thank you!
This is an amazing pedal, the price is well kind of insane. However, j rockett has one that just came out nearly the same price but a fraction of the features. If I didn't have my Mr Echo from SIB that I bought in the 90's I would get this one. That Mr Echo just fits me perfect. It sounds just like real tape echo. IMO even better than this. It has just delay though .If you try to find one used they are also 500 sooo i did good, got mine for 85 dollars in 1994.

OK, good, I saw what I already knew about clean. Now please do a video with high gain. Show us how this delay react to the Soldano SLO gain at 8 on shred from hell. I use delay for soloing only. The best delay I have found for the SLO is the Recoil by Mojohand FX. A kind of Boss Dm-2. The Way Huge Echo Puss, witch sounds awesome on high gain, especially in the loop of any kind of Rectifier, doesn't work with the Soldano SLO. So I nee to know, is this Discovery delay is able to surf on giant heavy waves of metal ? And no strat please, keep the PRS, or your black LesPaul. Please ! Do it.
Yeah but not multiple parameters on an analogue delay surely? I know strymon do it but that’s 1/2 params and it’s digital? I know volante can do more though
@@RabeaMassaad Ah yeah, for analog, true. I'm not sure if Chase Bliss pedals can control multiple knobs at once, or just a chosen parameter, but you're right, if not CB then it's really cool and unique!
This looks dope… but getting the Empress or Strymon or the Eventide Space vs this? Seems way expensive just to say the pedal is actually analogue and not an algorithm.

I got this pedal last week. Absolutely beautiful tones, it has a lot of nice sweet spots and sounds great with cleans or heavy gained out sounds.

I think a lot of modern pedals that have expression pedal inputs work the same way as this pedal.
I think it would be fun to have this pedal just to play around with, I thought is was pretty cool.
