With all of your other videos I was expecting something crazy and complicated, but this is actually pretty reasonable for most skill levels, it's quite doable and seems very practical, I (as a somewhat less experienced drummer) will definitely give this a try! Thanks, I really appreciate this style of video! :)
Great exercises man! Having an exercise where you can improvise is definitely something that we have to do more of, gets our creativity going for a bit. Keep up the consistency with the videos👌🏻🎶
This is awesome - thank you so much for putting the overhead cam in so we can see what is happening with your thumb and fingers on the left hand. I am always experimenting with different ways to bring the fingers/thumb in and back out, and it is hard to find videos like this where others demonstrate it and comparisons are possible. I've got all the Tommy I. videos, but the camera angles make it tough to see everything. THANKS again for the overhead and the trad grip videos. Awesome!
It's interesting that you use that as your warmup - I was just doing flam paradiddles in the music store I go to. These are trickier than people think.
Damn, wonderfully explained. Didn't even have to watch again because perfectly explained and demonstrated. The moller stroke obvious by the camera angle. Watched again though just for the fun of it. The work I've to do us to clean up my moeller at higher tempos but that's my homework. Love this drummer not holding my hand through his explanation. Gets to the point and let's his demonstration speak for its self
Thanks for sharing this! I’m a big fan of your playing. The angles of the camera and the speed of these exercises allows a good look at your technique. I appreciate all you’re doing for music and the drumming community.
The flam paradiddle exercise was very fun to play! I found my hands adding in some flam taps in between to spice it up. All flam rudiments are great for coordination and consistency :D
I am a drummer and go to jazz festivals all over the World and seek out seeing great drummers and bassists, hope to catch you at a jazz festival or jazz club on the West Coast. Do you have any dates scheduled in California this year? Love your drumming style and technique.
I got hip to alternating flam paradiddle-diddles many years ago from a Steve Gadd instructional video ("Up Close" I think it was called). Great chop builder, for sure. And like Gadd, you are equally awesome, sir.
Great Lesson; I always believed that the rudiments were the foundation of stick control….and of course incorporated into parade drum solos like JS Pratt Drum Corps on Parade and others. Thanks for the excellent demonstration…..
I am embarrassed to say that I was just introduced to this crazy 🤪 Kat, man! It's incredible to watch a person such as Greyson go to work ! I guess this is what they mean by "a prodigy "! He is the best drummer by far on UA-cam! How about the theme song for the Spiderman cartoon from the early 70's! Flintstones was amazing!!
Greyson....I would like to see you do a tutorial on your jazz ride cymbal technique, in particular for fast bebop. And also cover any rudiments that help with this as well as dexterity with the snare drum/ accents while doing fast bebop ride cymbal, and again any rudiments you think helps develop both of those techniques......thanks man !
This exercise is sick, will definitely be trying it. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Also I think the link in the description to your website isn't working properly.
Great video, ever try pipe band sticks on the kit and the pads? Bigger area for your hand makes it so much better. Dont think ive been this impressed since i saw Dave Weckl play. If your a drummer you know.
Awesome video! I feel good about myself because I was pretty much already doing all of these except I do Swiss Army triplets but they are very similar.
You have amazing Focus and this exercises are really usefull to update and keeping the abillity and relaxed combining the triplets in our grooves!! Great Work Man and you figured perfectly!!How old are you?
Can you go over your left hand??? It’s so so so open and all of my drum/percussion teachers have told me that it’s poor technique? But your chops are crazy?
You welcome! Thanks for sharing your warmup routine. Do you spend a certain amount of time for each exercise or is up to what yo feel doing? :) Feel like doing a video about your practice routine aswell? I can't be the only one who's interested in that! :D Anyone? ;) Just saw you on Drumeo the other day and it was really inspiring. I'm really happy I found that video! It made me push myself today for a longer session but still stay focused. The whole thing about "fueling" on the past, was SO GOOD man. You are really really good at what you do and I'm very amazed and super impressed about how much you work for it everyday. I want to do the same... but my own way ;)

If I learned one thing from this guy, it's don't overcomplicate things
in 50 years from now the books will talk about the Nekrutman left hand technique
I gotta say, you are the reason, why I got into jazz drumming a few months ago. Really impressed by what you're doing!
Thank you!
Watch his videos and pick up the Stick Control book.

@SipidiCimcikki is going fine, bro. how do you do?
You’re a big inspiration to the drumming community 🔥

After 20 years of playing music, I’ve never seriously thought about learning how to drum until right now 👍
It's interesting that you use that as your warmup - I was just doing flam paradiddles in the music store I go to. These are trickier than people think.

The flam paradiddle exercise was very fun to play! I found my hands adding in some flam taps in between to spice it up. All flam rudiments are great for coordination and consistency :D

Thanks for cool exercizes, just love flams and groupings 👍👍👍
Haven't watched yet but I'm sure that I'd be playing like Greyson if I know the right warmup exercises.
Amazing the way you Play and speed
Great Lesson; I always believed that the rudiments were the foundation of stick control….and of course incorporated into parade drum solos like JS Pratt Drum Corps on Parade and others. Thanks for the excellent demonstration…..

Would you be able to help a brother out?
Thanks for the videos man, I'm a huge fan!
The warm-up involving the flam Paradiddles and the flam accent triplets can you use swiss army triplets in place of....thxs!
Why this man doesn't have more views. He inherited all the traditions of Buddy Rich, our Guru.
This man scaled up way too fast at Buddy Rich levels.
Wait a minute, this cat isn't even 20 yet? Whaaat.
Привет. Давай побольше таких уроков)
Who are your influences on the drums aside from Buddy Rich?
TA BUMM BUM
When you can really enjoy some top drum lesson/exercises even though you’re not actually playing the drums…☺️
As a total beginner: we need more of that!!! 😃 Although this "not to play as fast as possible" for me is too fast yet 😂
Amazing!
Muito bom parabéns
Dude, you are absolutely killing it with everything you do!!! Great great stuff!!!!! Thank you!!!!
I got a paper cut looking at this mans jawline
Great!
thanks!
Hi, what number are your drumsticks?
Really good drum warmup technique 💙❤️🔥🤙✌️🤘💝💕💗 What I Like about you is your personal self 💕🎵👌🥺😘💕💞
Random question, do jazz drummers get annoyed when they see drummers using matched grip when playing swing?
Can you go over your left hand??? It’s so so so open and all of my drum/percussion teachers have told me that it’s poor technique? But your chops are crazy?
Awesome tutorial
Thank you so much
Thanks greyson sir
My shuffle rhythm Warm Up: (/ = 1/4 NOTE REST)

Everybody plays shuffle rhythms loose in a different way, so I don't practice this with a metronome... IMHO
Can you play wring that neck by deep purple
❤️❤️❤️
Is that a Camco snare drum in the corner????
You welcome! Thanks for sharing your warmup routine.

TOP!
Where did you get the Buddy Rich poster?
The sideways “AA” lettering looks like the Bitcoin logo.
I hardly recognized you without sweat pouring off of you.
Oh and I'm pretty sure we share a birthday. Too bad we don't share the same talent!
Excelentes !
