Together with the Guildford Four, this still stands as one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British legal history.

I've heard this from both sides. I'm a Murphy born in England, being in the middle allows you to see both sides perspectives. There is good and bad words from both.

They were scapegoated. It was known from the start that these people were entirely innocent. Just another ugly chapter in British colonial history. Disgrace of a country.
It's disgraceful that the cops who framed those innocent people were never brought to justice

My family lived a matter of doors away in Third Avenue. We knew the Maguires. Annie and my Mum (Patsy) were good friends. They were a good normal family. Hard times for the Irish in London.
The Irish people even when tormented by their oppressors occupation never forgot the Palestinian people and never will.

I do think the british governments handling of this contributed badly to the horror. As it has in so many other conflicts globally. I hope one day there's revolution here. But the public are too apathetic it won't happen in my lifetime

I think annies Daughters anger towards the Guildford four is entirely misguided. They were as innocent as your mother so I've no idea why you'd still be angry at them.
It should be directed towards the police who framed you and the judiciary who covered it up!
Being Irish means your guilty, so we're guilty one and all. Funny thing was i used to drink in the bar called "The Plough and the Stars" at the bottom of 3rd avenue on Harrow Road This was 1994,i had great times in London and met some great Irishmen along the way... Then go to Harlsden to the "Mean Fiddler"
