They knew that the Birmingham six and the Guildford four were innocent but they did'nt care , the Brit police punched and kicked confessions out of them and poor Giuseppe Conlon died in an English jail an innocent man and The rest had a lot of years taken from their lives in English Jails as innocent men and there is no amount of compensation that gives that time back...!! #ATL #Saoírse #EíreNuá

'There are many more innocent people behind bars; not just Irish, English as well.' The words of Billy Power outside the court of appeal on his release. The Birmingham 6 were victims of the infamous West-Midland-serious-crime squad and were innocent. The Tottenham 3, M25 3, The Taylor sisters, Stefan Kyszco, The Cardiff 3, Bridgewater 4, I could go on, and were all wrongly imprisoned, none of whom were Irish.

Just watched the tv series about Jimmy Savile also the one about the Yourksire ripper. Wasn’t much justice in Britain back then.
Not sure if it’s any better today.

My auntie and her husband were in the Tavern In The Town that night. Luckily they were amongst the survivors, but they did suffer some injuries, as well as mental damage which it would wouldn't it - a bomb going off in was was essentially a basement cellar. If you look at the Tavern, you used to have to go down some stairs to get into the bar, so there were no big windows for the blast to escape and the whole power of the bomb hit that pub a lot harder.

My Auntie was also at The Tavern in the Town that night but she wasn't so lucky. I thank God that my Parents did survive it, I was just 4 years old and so nearly became an orphan. They had planned to go out the night before but my Dad had to work so they went on that fateful night instead.
I hate how the 6 Men are seen as the victims and the innocent Brummies are not. 🇬🇧💔

I remember when it was called The Yard of Ale back in the late 2000s. I used to watch soccer in there on their sky sports big screens. It was only years later I found out it was the scene of one of the attacks. I was born 6 years after the tragedy so obviously don’t recall it. You are right it’s obvious why the IRA chose it as it was so confined with no windows and no natural light, downstairs. The only exit was that staircase you alluded to. Quite chilling really. I remember watching some games packed in like sardines. God knows what the victims went through that night

@@jamesobrien1440 I moved from the midlands in 2001 and you've just made me remember the name changing to Yard of Ale mate. I never went in there myself, whenever I went on a night out in Brum I went to the Hummingbird.....come to think of it I'm sure I remember a club in 1970s Brum called the Night Out.
It still affects my auntie and uncle to this day and they're in their 70s now. I can understand it too, trapped in a dungeon basement is terrible.
