Foggy when you came to our factory with BBC news i told you then that the triple was not good enough. Why oh why didnt you take notice ,the bike is great. But the engine !!!! Sorry didnt reply earlier, you know why. Best wishes.
I had a long career in Motorsports. I opened an email one morning that started out “ I have a Foggy Petronas project and need parts” I could not help but smile. I was a big fan of that project, no help with parts. Shame, we had made the originals. Made my day to see a few pics he had.
Richard Jeffrey- thanks for the videos, looking forward to 04 BSB. Love that SBK era... any idea where might get full season/highlights of early naughties WSBK or BSB? I made it to WSBK Laguna Seca in 02/03 and would love to watch those in particular but all of it really... Bayliss, Hodgson, Edwards, Chili etc etc. Not to mention the bikes... what a great era... thanks again.
Remember watching this back in the day.. It was a shame how the project failed. The bike looked and sounded great, but the engine design, power and then the change in 2003 allowing 1000cc 4 cylinders basically sunk the potential of the bike. It’s great to see the bikes they built for homologation finally seeing the light of day.. Edit. Just remembering the first time I saw the FP1 bikes out on track.. they did a demo at Brands Hatch, Foggy was riding one.. I distinctly remember the noise it made and the flames 🔥😄
I'm glad that they put rider safety 1st, rider safety is alway'z #1, everything else is #2. What a great show thx guys for bringing us along for this ride. 🙏🇺🇲🗽🇬🇧🙏
@@robertcranney2022 Yep. Corser drops a few in there as well. They can't seem to help it. Another thing I hear rather a lot is the "yeah no, blah blah blah..". Listen to Haydon when he's on Eurosport. And, for that matter, Shane Byrne. They typically get a few in just about every sentence. :)
All this ended because of rule change making all that work/money go down the toilet. The documentary was quite sad. Delays, mmechanical ans electrinic failure, people failures. Sad story ❌
Can't believe how delusional all these people were, I know you have to believe its going to all work out but come on in the time scale they had set, micky mouse in comparison with ducati and Honda who they expected to beat, Foggy would have done better with privateer ducati bikes. FP1s looked nice though.
Against all odds? it looks like they should have gone racing instead of worrying about how the machine shop looked inside, about their catered meals, about their matching shirts. What a bunch of spoiled money wasting pansies.
All that stress for fk all, who the fk wants that, LOL, not me. Time moves on and once you're out its hard to catch up. Notice they didn't say why the engine smoked....I bet a simple tin baffle over the breather exit hole cured it, so many fk ups., too much pomp and ceremony.
I was there with my 10 year old a the time in the paddock and just wanted to get his hat and poster signed and it seemed like it was far to much trouble for him to manage that feat
Still a gorgeous looking and sounding bike
Doesn’t even look dated by todays standards
To this day it is such a beautiful looking bike!
i used to love watching Foggy racing Worra Champ!!!

Back when the WSB has Vtwins, the sound of thunder.
Should have got Alan Millyard to build the engines.
Is there a part 2 showing the 2003 season?
53:18 min “That (recessed screen) looks a bit goofy”. What an extremely professional remark. 🤤🤪😂

“Aerodynamics are not important”. The bike became a beauty in the end. Still is. But such remarks certainly presaged the lack of results.
i wonder how much money was put into this whole project...damn
Money laundering.
i have been looking for this .... thanks

Yeah rules didn’t help but Ducati with one cylinder less still did well
i love it. thank you sir.
12:45 ... nobody rolls his eyes better than Carl Foggarty! :)
awesome docudrama
So how did it give him a charisma bypass
What's up with Foggy's left eye, it often seems dilated?

Aero dynamics after style? Ducati not Aero...hmmmm
thanks Rich !!
Didnt foggy do the isle of man. Yup a rare breed.
Perhaps its just selective filming/editing but all the focus seems to be cosmetics first, structure will work itself out somehow.
No wonder he went to the jungle... dolls head Missus.
Since 1994 to 2012 was a great Superbike.

Techno techno techno. You either love it or hate it. You are obviously in the very small group who hate it. Very good documentary techno or no techno.
using an engines full performance becomes limited by aerodynamics and down force, ultimately form must follow function.
