I tried microdosing mushrooms and I almost cried when I tried it. 20 years of failed treatments and at least 8 prescription medications with no to minimal effect. And after only two microdoses of mushrooms and my chronic low grade headaches almost completely evaporated, and I can now go multiple days without any pain in my head at all. I’ve never tried that since my early teens. I still get migraines on occasion but it has been reduced by at least 50% if not more.
I have episodic clusters. Beginning in 2016/2017 I had weird auras now and then, had no headache when I had them. I haven't had those for 6 years, but in March 2018 I had my first attack. That time I insisted that the dentist filled my healthy root canal :(💸 the next time I had cluster headaches was in February 2022, this time I got diagnosed by a neurologist. The episode was over before I got my hands on sumatriptan injections, and I was prescribed Isoptin retard + pills that helps on stomach sores. Let me tell you I never began with it, it affects blood pressure and what not, it's hard on the stomach and yeah, not happening. I even had mushrooms laying around, but I was so ill that I chose not to try it. Which I should have dond, rather than suffer! 👇🏻 My now latest attack started early March this year. Tried 3 sumatriptan injections on three different nights, about a week into the episode. The first one gave me more headaches, and the other two had some effect, but I felt it in my face, chest and veins in the head too. It only took that attack, nothing prevented the next attack from coming. I'm also sceptical to side effects, giving me longer episodes and shorter remission time. Finally, after 14 days and nights of complete terror, I took one gram and finally felt relief. My then 3/10 headache faded out, and my shoulders, neck and back released the tension and I could finally lay down and relax. I cried too lol. That night I had 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep. The next day I took two separate doses, same dose as the day before, and that night I had 12 hours of sleep, not waking up in horror. Truly amazing, looking forward to the autumn so I can find more of these godly badboys.
That’s amazing ! Care I ask how old are you ? And do you get dizziness from your migraines ? I have vestibular and wondering if it will kick it to the curb
@@laydegagaluver123 I’m 34 years old. :) I don’t always get dizzy from migraines, but it depends on how severe the pain is. If it’s very severe, then I get dizzy if I stand up, and it can cause me to vomit. I mostly got dizzy from all the medications I took to prevent migraines. I still take some medications, but I’ve reduced the doses by 50% because I don’t need them as much anymore since I’ve started with mushrooms. I’m just a bit scared stopping entirely, because I don’t know if the migraines will come back, or if it’s a combination of mushrooms and the medications I take is what is helping me. I’m currently in a very good place, so I don’t want to mess it up by adjusting medications and such, lol. You should try if you are able to do it safely. It’s illegal where I lived so I grow them myself. Start with 100 to 200 mg (0.1 to 0.2 grams) every 3 days, and adjust as needed. I take 250 mg (0.25 grams) every 3 days. Mushrooms are so under-researched that there is no knowing what they work on. We have conclusive evidence that they work on migraines and cluster headaches, but more so on cluster headaches than migraines. Some say low doses help with mental initiative as well, which I’ve definitely noticed myself. I’m much more focused and able to work right after I’ve taken a dose.
Migraines often co occur with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory processing disorder etc. I have traits of ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. I also have chronic migraine disease.
That was tres appreciated. Thanks much to you both. After 10+ years of severe brainstem migraines/treatment limitations, I am READY to go with the flow of nature 🍄.
LSD was profound 8n curbing my consumption of alcohol. I spent years trying to cut back and while it was possible, I had little will, despite bit bothering me. One day, I had an uncomfortable LSD experience where I found myself pondering the two things that were bothering me most. Alcohol and finances. I decided there and then what I did and did jot want to do any longer, and that was that! No struggle. Just a decision. These things can be profoundly positive. I'm now researching microdosing for migraines. Grateful for any genuine information I can find on this, so thank you for the work you are doing.
I’ve been suffering migraines recently and it has been completely debilitating! I seen a study years ago about this so today 4/20/2023 I was in the middle of an attack and remembered I had a magic mushroom. So I took half of it and I was absolutely astounded my migraine started to ease up immediately! It was completely gone within 10 minutes! But again this was only today. I’ll have to see what happens in the future.
Dr. McAllister thank you for your excellence as a clinician and for advocating for your clients who suffer regardless of currently available medications.
Thanks for this video. I would love to find out more. I’ve had migraines for about 50 years. I’ve tried many pharmaceuticals, but I still have about 2-4 migraines per month. They aren’t just headaches. They seem to affect my whole body. I’m seeng my neurologist next month for a re-evaluation. I’m going to ask her about this and possibly refer her to this video.
I'm a migraine sufferer iv been referred for botox I cancelled it as nit sure as its a poison full of toxins, I do have chronic migraine and fed up being ill so new discoveries like this is good to hear. Wondering if it will become a thing.
12:55 - Chronic cluster, 7/365, not depressed but only solution is suicide. Still able to research, discover, and self-advocate for psychedelic treatment, and find it. Problem is that doctors can’t legally recommend it, let alone prescribe. Schedule I. Unethical? Or immoral?
Thank you for your endless work on this subject and for this video. Let's all pray they make it legal for us sufferers....or should I say "warriors"? Stay well 😊
One of the acting ingredients in the "triptans" that are normally prescribed for cluster headaches is psilocin. That's why they work best and are somewhat effective for most. Unfortunately, the other compounds found in the triptans are really quite dangerous and produce a long list of side effects. Some potentially serious if used for long periods of time. That's why their quantities and use are so strictly regulated.
Very small amounts, i usuallly find half a gram dried is enough to stop a migraine but must be taken when first signs happen, do not wait till it gets too painful. The wild british type is what i use. liberty caps , but cubensis works just as well.
Did you ever try it? I use the Cubensis species. I take between 0.2 to 0.3 grams (200 to 300 mg) every 3 days. I take it right when I get out of bed in the morning on an empty stomach, and then have a two day break and then take another capsule on the 3rd day again. I’ve dosed the mushroom powder in capsules, so it’s easier to take. :)
Even at micro doses, wouldn’t it be unsafe to operate a vehicle or some machinery? Many of us with chronic migraine are not just looking for a way to get out of pain; we want control of our lives back, with the ability to do normal things that the non headache symptoms of migraine has taken from us. When these studies do take place, I hope that they will include hemiplegic and vestibular patients. We get left out of the studies so often, such as with the Emgality trials, and so there is little our neurological teams or personal research can tell us about potential efficacy, side effects or dangers specific to our types of migraines, to help us make informed decisions in our treatment plans. Replacing a pain level of 7-10 with pink elephants on parade has zero appeal for me, but the options that do not have a hallucinogenic property are interesting. It’s unfortunate that potential long term consequences (assuming that this isn’t being proposed as a cure for the disease) were included in this discussion.
You won't hardly notice. I've had a harder time driving after two beers. As a matter of fact, you just might question the micro-dose is doing anything at all. I had clusters. They will make you go to the ends of the earth to find relief. It works for me and it's totally SAFE when compared to the nasty pharmaceuticals they prescribe for severe headaches.
If they have any noticeable effect at all at that dosage, it would be more likely to _improve_ a person's ability to operate machinery. It helps to open up mental channels we often lock off due to trauma.
@@DustyPockets I take between 0.2 and 0.3 grams of Cubensis mushroom powder dosed in a gelatin capsule every 3 days in the morning on an empty stomach. One day on the substance and a two day break. This is a slightly larger dose than an imperceptible microdose, but it in no way impairs your functioning at this level. I only feel a very slight buzzing in my body for a few hours and it gives me razor sharp focus and clarity. Having a migraine and operating your day to day life is much more distracting and dangerous than an imperceptible or slightly perceptible dose of mushrooms. I’ve tried maybe 8 prescription medications for my chronic migraines and they are mediocre at best, but the first week I tried mushrooms I didn’t have a single migraine episode and only two episodes of a regular headache which was cured almost instantly with an aspirin. I normally have a constant low grade headache, but that is mostly gone now.

How do I get in this study? Most meds don’t agree with me or work.
Psilocybin is legal in Brazil and so I hope that some studies will be forthcoming.

I am basically that "63 year old accountant." Is there data on the effectiveness of legal magic mushrooms on chronic migraines?
Well I’ve done my fair share of mushrooms and well they help but after about a year my migraines are back so I think I will dose soon again

Brilliant, thank you 👍🤙
17:00 Most people don’t have a “connection” to obtain. Therefore: No access for people with intractable pain and suffering.
Wondering about serotonin syndrome and if you have it from taking say SSRI’s (relpax) is still psilocybin safe??

You also will hear ergots which is a precursor to lsd
Now psilocybin is becoming ‘more legal’ maybe it’s time to do an update on this video

you wont see elephants on a microdose, it would be the same as taking a pill, no visual effects. Its unnoticable thats why they take microdose
