ive had chronic migraines for 4 years and i got a nerve block last february and i regret it so much. it helped my head for like a day and the injection site was very sore, i couldnt lay on my back for like 2 months and even after that i still had very big bumps from where the injection sites were. i went to a new neurologist a couple days ago and he asked abt the nerve block and why i didnt like it and when i was talking abt it my mom literally like interrupted me and said “she has bald spots now” when she never told me that before and i actually got so emotional. i was dizzy for months and i still occasionally get pain from where the injections were.
Did they use Lidocaine? 4%? I am supposed to be getting my first injection through my nostrils this week. Thank You. Did it work the very first time???
The nerve block you mentioned has lidocaine in it. That has epinephedrine in it which gives me a massive migraine. Is there another agent that can be used in nerve blocks without any epinephedrine? thank you.
Lidocaine with epi is used when the practitioner doesn't want the lidocaine spreading beyond a small area as epi causes blood vessels to constrict, and epi also cuts bleeding at the injection site. I think that dentists, for example, use lidocaine with epi. I use lidocaine without epi for topical SPG self-blocks. At least ask your clinician why they would use lidocaine with epi for anything performed on you and if it is necessary. I'm not a doc, but a migraineur.
Any success with TBI + abnormalities? Migraines for 10 years constant + GI problems from medication; yes narcotics work but must be used sparingly - Cannabis is the best prevention I’ve found but, it must be a specific strain, Sativa. They seem to come in waves aligned with gastric issues or feeling unwell 🇦🇺✌🏽
Nerve blocks don’t work always, maybe epidurals are better because it’s injected into the dura which spreads the medicine to your dura matter that surrounds your brain

Oh how I love the nerve blocks I have received. Thanks for sharing.
Do they hurt?
What city are these doctors located in?
What about the sphenopalatine ganglion block? The doctor gave me back my life with these! She has retired and I can't find anyone else who does it.
How long did it take to work for you?
It's been a few days and i still have headaches
is there a difference between nerve block under ultrasound and without ?
I've had migraines for 51 years and I'm almost 57. Right now I've had this migraine for over 3 weeks. Nothing is working. I need help
Nerve block injections saved my sanity.

Lidocaine comes with and without epi in it. The type used for blocks is usually without epi.
@@dmedlin8118 Thank you. This is very helpful to know so I can ask my dr.
