This has to be one of the clearest and best demonstration videos. No useless yakety yakking! Thanks.
Thank you.
Totally agree
+1
this guitar, i mean, this model, wether it is fender or squier, is the most underrated guitar ever.....wide range pickups are damn good, i love them....awesome clean and amazin' crunch
real wide range pickups are good, those are PAFs
Excellent revue, playing the same riff through the different settings really allows us to appreciate what the guitar is capable of. Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
Amazing video, fantastic tone and playing, as well as chill demeanor during the explanation of it's features. High marks and thanks for posting! 🙏❤️🙌
great playing! Love hearing all the different styles through the guitar- sounds and looks great
Thanks so much Kuba!
Love this guitar. Even with humbuckers it still has that twang you kinda expect from a telly.
Man that neck pickup sounds fantastic. Excellent video, thanks foe sharing.
Awesome demo! Just got the loaded pickguard on ebay with this setup! I'm stoked to slap these into my Tele '72 build!
I just bought this an hour ago and let me tell you. This is a freaking awesome guitar. Been a Strat guy all my life and this Tele is easily going to be my go to guitar. Just need a few setup from the box and it’s all good
Was the neck glossy finished?
@@Miyazuki3 the necks are glossy yes.
Loved mine so much I bought a second one!!!
I agree this axe is more than the money I paid
I just ordered this last night on a hunch! this video was perfect!! i can’t wait to play some jazz with it. thank you!!
Enjoy!
probably the most jazzy fender guitar...it works great with flats....how are you goin' with it after two months???...did you swap to flats???....i'm gonna buy this same model, inexpensive and fine....
A hunch? Wow wow wow. I've never heard that one b4. I tink your hunch is crunch!!
@@mytelecasterworld3336 what do you mean by flats?
@@popeskill flatwound strings instead of roundwound...i use them in some of my guitars...great to play jazz, blues, funk...
Nice guitar, also great playing 🤘🏾, I can only imagine what great things I can come up with once I get this guitar. Thanks for the demo.
Amazing! Despite having a humbucking pick-up it still has the twang!
That's illegal man! No way can a guitar at this price point sound and look that good you must be a great con artist you rascal!
Dang! you caught me!
Thank you for this démo , that's give a good idea of what this model can offer, it's very explicit ; )
I have this model - it is quite superb. I've always been a Strat-man but this Squier Tele has trounced the Squier Standard Strat by absolute miles. I suspect they come fitted with 9's but I've recently moved to using 11s or 12s so will change to one of those when I need to restring. Great demo - the tones you get are very accurate and match exactly what I hear on my thinline played through a DV Mark amp. I also find that (again unlike the Squier Standard Strat) the tone control on the thinline really does provide an extremely wide range of tonal changes.
10/10 for a very well balanced review and demo. Good job.
I too use 11's on this guitar. Love the sound as well as the action!
Why the heck does this channel not have a lot of subs? This was great!!
I have one and I love it...
Great video, thank you!
I bought one some years ago. Although quite affordable the overall quality of the Thinline is nothing else than fantastic. Especially the neck and low action are outstanding. The stock humbuckers leave room for some better replacements. Since the stock "reissued" wide-range humbuckers do not have a standard humbucker size you might want to buy another pickguard for standard-sized pickups (for having more options). I settled (after having tested 12 different humbuckers) with a set of humbucker-sized, cheap no-name P90s from China. I also switched the bridge saddles with massive brass saddles what gave me better sustain. These mods added less than 100 bucks to the purchase price but improved the sound in a phenomenal way. Verdict: I highly recommend this guitar for players who are looking for a versatile guitar with a low weight and top-notch playability.
Those Fender/Squier humbuckers are so underrated...
So much more versatile than the PAFs fitted to 335s.
Lovely playing. Good review, thanks
Thank you.
Amp dialed in nicely.
it still keeps the telecaster tone with both humbucker pick-ups
What’s humbucker is that like a cheaper version
@@langman194 humbucker is a different type of pick up, telecasters normally use single-coil pickups
@@snouuuflake thank you
I have one and it is great. My only quibble is the action - a tad high and my guitar whizz repair guy did a few things but still higher than I like. But hell for the money it is a terrific buy and I love the sounds I get from it.
i just got one and i want to lower it does it not work well lowered or can it just physically not go that low?
I'm sold ,,, very nice geeetar ! 😁🖒✌
how great it is the thinline '72 telecaster, its tone is unique.....it works its best with flats or worn rounds and better 10's or 11's gauge
Very good demo, LES
Thank you.
Hi my friend? Just what I needed. Someone to play it so you can see what it will do, thanks. I really thought this guitar with the natural finish is a beauty and now I know what it can do. I already have a Squier classic vibe stratocaster '60's so I need the humbuckers. There's only one other guitar that I also like and it's a Yamaha Nexstar standard. It's going to be one or the other. Great video 👍
Great demo, really showcases the juicy sound of this guitar. I'm starting to seriously consider buying this, ome thing I noticed was that the neck was strangely thick (which I liked). Dont know if it was an illusion cause the specs say "C" profile, but it was pretty thick, especially on the sides.
What amp are you using in this demo?
Hot Damn, I'm sold. :)
hows the neck feel for a squier??
I can hear some compression in the clean tones. Were you using a compressor?
I really enjoyed this video of the Squier Classic Vibe Thinline Telecaster Demo. What size strings strings does this guitar come with new, and what size are the strings that you are using in this demo?
Sweet guitar. What overdrive pedals are you using? Thank you for posting this.
OMG SOUNDS
Much Tones!
I may get this or the Fender modern player with P90
I have the 1st version of this guitar and it's my number 1!! Amazing :D
what amp do u use in this video? interesting chanel! cheers
That mid-distortion song - "Down the Boulevard" by Jackson Browne?
I got mine new for $200. Slickdeals promotion for $300 with a $100 visa cash card rebate.
Best guitar deal I've ever bought even counting the Fender American Elite I got for $1200 new.
The amount of guitar you get for the money these days is incredible thanks to automation. My Korean made guitars were more flawless out of the box than the Fender American Elite.
I tried the 60s single-coil version of this, and that was amazing, but I worry this would be muddy, since lots of people say squire humbuckers are way less worthy than its single-coil pickups
I don't have any muddy issues with mine. If they do sound muddy, try lessoning the bass setting on your amp. That will help clean up the muddiness a bit.
@@johndashuta7826 thanks, it’s just internet, you know, every opinion exists😂
Apparently, the pickups are the same as the fender version, the just put a squier branded cover on them.
Great... sounds great. You say its very light... how much is the weight of this guitar?
Thanks Peter. These are right around 5 1/2 pounds.
@@YandasMusic Ooo thanks.
Bought the white version yesterday. Wanted an American to match my strat but for the price of $450 I couldn’t say no
Which amp are you using with this?
Sorry I don't remember what we used for this video. Mesa a Rectoverb maybe? We really should do a better job of noting that in our videos.
Thinking about getting this and upgrading with the new Fender CUNIFE pickups. Any thoughts on if they would really be any better than the standard wide ranges?
I know this comment was from 10 months ago, but the CUNIFE pickups are true to the first wide range humbuckers and will not fit a regular humbucker routed cavity. You will have to route it out to fit those in there.
@@keithconville5460 I appreciate your info all the same. Thanks!
@@keithconville5460 oh wow, I thought these had the same dimensions as the cunife! Thanks for sharing this.
@@haysfordays take the pickguard off and measure the route. The newer ones are just routed for regular humbuckers from my understanding. However, my VM 72 thinline has the same cover dimensions as the CuNiFe. So, I could be wrong with these. The mounting lip adds some length to them, though.
How does this compare to the 60s version? I'm split between the two 😪
If I'm not mistaken, the '60s-style version has the normal Tele single coils so you're gonna get a slightly more biting "traditional" Tele sound, whereas the humbuckers on this '70s one make the sound a little "fatter" and a bit warmer, although as someone else noted here it's still definitely retains some of the Telecaster sound. The humbuckers might be a little bit more versatile depending on what kind of music you want to play, but the traditional tele set-up might sound better to you. Both are supposed to be pretty good guitars though, so while they are different, you won't go wrong with either of them. Good luck!
Hi Rafael,
I am in the same situation, I can’t decide.
Which one did you go for? Are you happy with it?
Thank you.
Pete.
What's the weight of his guitar? My Squier Standard Strat comes in at 7lbs (nearly 3.2kg). Love the sound and flexibility of this semi-hollow Tele.
alan sturgess around 5 1/2 lbs
@@jacobslater7762 Thanks for that Jacob.
Has anyone ever spilt coil a thinline and if so how did it sound?
@Ben Hackett hey thanks that's good info about the bigger screws.
Is it a short scale or regular?
25.5 scale length
@@HaraldEngels Hi!!
The vintage modified thinline squier is different from CV ?
My G string is whining horribly on this guitar even after I changed the strings. What can I do about it?
sounds like you need a truss rod adjustment or saddle adjustment.
@@YandasMusic Thanks.
Did you experience any 'neck diving" when playing standing? Curious as its a semi-hollow...
No it feels great!
I actually bought this a week ago as my first telecaster - I was going to get the fender version but heard good things about the classic vibe series so I figured I'd I liked it enough I'd upgrade. Returned it after a couple of days. I wasn't impressed one bit with the wide ranging humbuckers. They were much too weak. It's put me off telecasters even though I know the fender variant would play much better.
That sucks don't give up on teles though they are awesome I have two squiers and two amrican fenders. I'm thinking about selling the fenders cause the squiers I just never put them down
@@christopher8664 As you posted, Bro my new Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s Goldtop just arrived as a direct replacement for the Telecaster I returned. Thanks for replying. I hope this guitar is worth the value like I've been hearing. I'll let you know my verdict.
@@EricCPOP How you doing so far with it bro?
@@ricardocalmza Hi Bro. You know what actually? Upon receiving the guitar I did an immediate inspection and it became apparent that the guitar was in a pre-owned condition. There were all sorts of scratches and dents. I called GuitarGuitar (a large and popular UK Vendor) up to complain and they admitted they had sent me a pre-owned guitar such that I should have been made aware. I was not pleased in the slightest. What made it worse was that they told me they could refund me a mere £30 if I wanted the guitar as there wasn't another one in stock. I wasn't having it. I did get a chance to play it though briefly before returning it. The pickups were good but not great. Mids were creamy but highs were low I thought. My SG Epiphone standard actually sounds more even in tone and just has that pop though I guess the 50s pickups have something to do with it sounding not as hot.
Anyway, I decided to fork out for a Gibson albeit a Tribute Les Paul model (the modern variant with the trapezoid inlays). Now that's a guitar. The pickups are better sounding and it's so clear. It's so evident how much in a different class Gibson is to Epiphone in terms of tone especially when bending. The clarity is there on a Gibson and it just sounds fuzzy on an Epiphone.
Got that nasal spank...
Sounds awful distorted just saved me buying one
They're not genuine wide range humbuckers, only in appearance
Is there in the market the true wide range hums?
Are they humbuckers? Or are they single coils?
@@Airsoftdude1100 I don't know exactly..
But they're common known..as hums
