Jeeeeeez talk about an informative video. Thanks a ton for this it made it super clear. Also I know I'll never feel this way once I start but right now... wow engraving looks fun lmaooo
nice, i just got my very first stones and had no idea what exactly was going on witht he % and how to go about it, 5minutes of watching in 2x speed just fixed that lol. good content
Very, very, very informative video. Probably the best explanatory video about what to aim for while cutting stones. Thanks a lot, enjoying your content and subscribed!
I used to love enchanting in L2 on multiple items at once with failsafe items on top of that in case of bad luck and this works the same way just without the extra investments. I am gonna love this.
I think that many people get this wrong but, the percentage of "red" skill is inverted. 75% means that You have 75% chance to get outcome that is good for You -> cracking / not filling the red skill. When the percentage falls to 25% it actually means You have 75% chance to fill red skill. So the red skills should be used with high percentages. My tests on crappy gems confirms that. Just start filling "red" skill with 45% and You end up with almost full red skill.
ive been pretty much only pvping on RU and in beta, but i did blindly start clicking on things at the npc to upgrade these stones. i didnt really know what i was doing. now it all makes sense. so thanks for that.
Thanks for the video and sacrifice !!! I feel for your loss of crystals... but it's for the good of all of us... thanks to you ! I now better understand the process :)
SavageRoast sent me, I'm his friend irl. So cool he knows you, I've been watching your stuff for a while and didn't even know you two played BDO haha. All the best to you, I really enjoy the channel
So if you are rolling really good on a stone don't you want to at times use a high percentage roll on the red area because it says "FAILURE RATE" so you have a higher chance to fail when you need to fail. I noticed you used low percentage rolls on red (failure) at times and it didn't fail. 8:19 for example
Hey Kanon, another great video! Thanks so much for uploading these with the Western release coming so soon. I'm looking forward to playing a Paladin on the release and want to quickly get to the point where I can actually be a good support for my team so these Engravings are pretty important. Do you know of any video or guide or someone that you know that has some sort of Tier 1 gearing guide for Paladin? I can usually only find things for current endgame or deeper into T3 and onwards so I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to be looking for early on to be efficient. I know Paladin support can be kind of lackluster early on until you get certain Engravings and enough Specialization, but I'll be playing with a pretty big group of people and just want to make sure I can utilize them as much as possible to help me get to that point with the Jewelry and the Ability Stones.
So you can save a strong tripod and the. Move it to crappy gear to theoretical have multiple attempts at level 3 or 4 if your adding to a set with other good tripods?
As an NA player who just lvled a guy up to 50 on russia to understand a little whats going on - my question is direction of progression with gear. I Acquired a full blue set of 302 gear by running chaos dungeons and completed the first raid with Urinil boss guy. Do I start upgrading my blue gear to higher GS? Do i wait for purple gear? If you could put together a video(maybe you have and i will be looking after this comment) about hitting a fresh 50 and putting yourself in a noobs shoes about what direction to go with gear thatd be awesome. I upgraded my blue weapon to a higher GS and replaced some of my 302 blue gear with higher quality 302 blue gear but unsure if I should be using material on this? Anyways thanks for the vids Kanon...been watching a bunch of them.
question on this, could you eventually get perfect 10/10/0? Is 7/7/4 the best reasonable to get for a build because going for a god tier 10/10/0 would overcap you on points and be a waste?
I think 7/7 is the best you can get. To my knowledge it is also possible to get 10/4 but that would be less practical. So you can only get 14 positive points. I only played the beta and a bit on the RU server. I'm not a pro at this
Hey how expensive is the upgrade system? I see you have 6m balance, will a f2p player ever get close to that amount? I'm worrying that i will spend a month or so to save in-game currency and then dump it all on a single stone
I'm new and know nothing but wouldn't that 5-7-4 stone with 7 Grudge be worth something? Can you sell it or is it soulbound? I would think a newer player who just wants 15/15 Grudge would use that until they could cut something better, no?
Technically a 5/6 could be enough if you have 2 +12 from books (40 from accessories 24 from books and 11 from stone = 75 = 5 * 15) However the books are very expensive and 7/7 is the stone you want if you "only" use a +12 and a +9 from books Now, for the 9/5, with the system (as explained in the video) it is simply less likely to get a 9/5 compared to a 7/7 even if a 9/5 would work as well. Stopping at 7 also decreases the risk of a 8/6 stone (which could have been a 7/7), while having the same amount of points as a 7/7 the 8 is just bad to work with in this system since there is no clean way to reach 15 points with an 8/6 without wasting a point which would force you to 2 +12 again. Since it is expensive to get the right 7/7 to begin with, going for 9/5 is even more so. Also, you don''t really save anything by doing it. A 7/7 stone forces a +5 +3 for each engraving so 2x +3 and 2x +5 to reach max. A 9/5 forces 2x +3 on the 9 and 2x +5 on the 5. So you aren't really changing much in terms of requirements, you just shift it.
@@NanoNaps Perfect, thank you so much for this detailed answer. I really appreciate you taking your time to help me with my question and laying out all the details. Thank you ^.^
@@Vapoor oh, I meant just the engraving in general, not the gems that boost the engravings levels. So the engravings are account wide but the gems that boost them are character only then?
@@Jasta85 This system with engravings is based off your gear and the stats on them. So if you can wear that gear on another character then it can unlock those engravings on that character. But some engravings are unless for certain classes, so you would need to get a whole new gear set with the stats you need for the engraving build for that specific character.
You need 15 total “points” or “crystals” for level 3 effect. From one slot I only had 9 points for that engraving so by equipping two it put me at 8, 3 over what I need.
You all have it wrong! Really! Please check the "Question mark" next to Reduction ability. The Failure Rate is the percentage that it will break. So if its 75% failure rate, that means it has a 75% chance to NOT add +1 to it.
there has to be a mathematical equation that tells you exactly what gives you the best odds and not this "last time 55% failed, so it will fail now again" bs. but thanks for showing us the video how it works and how its not done.
I don't understand this "bad" stone thing at all. You can't just take them off? You're stuck with them? Is the idea to cut stones up to a point and let your gear provide the rest of the remaining stats?

@@KanonXO Sure thing!
engravings are essentially the same concept as monster hunter perks
To include the rng..lol.
Wow, seems like this could be an incredibly frustrating system. I'm all in for this game, but the RNG of this system seems...challenging.
It's monster hunter 4u charms but for all your setskills
upgrade systems with abilities to fail and being very grindy - is the heart of an eastern mmo. nothing different tbh.
thats why im so confused on the hype of this game, like where does it come from? The gearing system seems retarded
MoodyWanderer as much as it is annoying, the Rng aspect of upgrading equipment is what keeps people grinding the game.
@MoodyWanderer This doesn't seem near as bad as black desert though
That looks pretty cool ngl, good vídeo
Can you not use the 5/7 stone until you get a 7/7 then replace it?
in this case grudge has bad effect for all tiers 1 2 and 3, so you ideally want to only use it when its lvl 3
where do you get the stones? i know you said you bought them but those people had to get them from somewhere right?
So you can save a strong tripod and the. Move it to crappy gear to theoretical have multiple attempts at level 3 or 4 if your adding to a set with other good tripods?
I dont get, on which character you decide to go either engraving books, this thing or trying to get the trinkets?
That vid actually thought me a lot thanks m8
Thanks for the guide, I get this is for T3 but what happens to T1 and T2, should not care about engravings until I get to t3?
Definitely gacha hell right here trying to min/max this.
Great content, thanks!
One thing I couldn't understand is... why is 7/7 so important? Is it because you get +8 from other slots?
7/7 is the minimum you need for 5 maxed engravings with 5/3 accessories
its easier to get to 15 point due to 7+5+3. so yeah stone is better having 7+ or 9+. not 8+. its all math
Lmfao I was just clicking them randomly. Thanks!
Any tips for a noob sorc? I get engraving now, what should I look for :)

Are the engraving like Cursed Doll/Grudge shared across all the classes or are they class specific?
Shared. Each class has 2 class specific Engravings.
Asmongold just watched this on stream to 300k viewers
So essentially you can only buy them for better build results or is there a way to just acquire them?
