I hope there's a limit of six characters on launch. Just so I don't feel obligated to make more.

It starts off fun because dopamine, then you get competitive and to stay ahead you must have these alts, then dopamine declines and you find yourself a daily slave because you’re too invested

Just chill, I'm almost tier 3 but haven't done the weekly raids a single time because I don't wanna stress about it lol or feel the progression rush.
"They want you to have fun with all the different classes" also you have to pay for character slots.
For total beginners I will do a basic gear progression and how gear works video soon, so you understand what weapon and armor upgrade materials are!
The Cube and Boss Rush are dungeons that need tickets to enter, these tickets drop from Chaos Dungeon bosses at random, but guaranteed 2 Boss Rush tickets & 2 Cube tickets per week if you do Chaos Dungeons diligently. These dungeons have matchmaking and group queue. They drop very worthwhile rewards (at T3) as quickly mentioned in the video.

It's something my bf wants to know about a lot because he's trying to figure out how much time someone needs to commit to the game day to day so he can figure out whether this will work for him. I've got loads of free time while he has set hours so our schedules are very different.
Hello zeals just a quick question is there any benefit to having multiple characters of the same class?
@@Tek21502 You can optimize(min/max) each char easier if you have the same classes because they can share account bound materials.
Warrior class for beginners is always the go to. I led with paladin and having fun.
Is that 2 guaranteed Boss and Cube ticket a KR only thing? Cause I haven't missed a Chaos Dungeon and saying that you get 2 of each guaranteed is most certainly cap.

@@koffee3816 you can do almost everything in this game with a party lol besides the quest instances which I don’t even know why you would wanna group to quest in this game because it’s just go from point a to b and maybe kill or pick up 3 things along the way
@@Irovetti its a MMO, sharing quests and questing with your friends is part of the game.. having to rush to 50 to join your friends is silly... the game is practically unsocial until you hit 50, then if your mates haven't reached it yet, tuff leave them behind and find Pugs, because you cant help them...
@@koffee3816 ive quested with my friends to 50, it is extremely slower, but its definetly do-able if you just want to chill and level with them. there are some things that only you can go into, but you guys will complete them in about the same time and then be with eachother right after it. but i suggest leveling on your own to 50 and then you all start end-game content together, thats where the real game actually starts. and if you can't do that then i dont know if mmos are for you, because in all the mmos i played, end game content is where the actual game starts, questing is just a big turtorial to better understand your class and the game itself.

I'm glad you touched on alts feeling like a job at the end, I can only play about 2-3 hours a day and I have 4 alts already, can confirm it quickly becomes unfun doing the same stuff over and over lol

I agree that the point that you start playing your alts is when progress on your main gets to the point of diminishing returns in terms of gold and time. Even in Korea, I only have 4 characters that I actually play. I work and have family so I can only play like 5-7 hours a week. ofc I'm just a filthy casual and I've only spent like 100,000 won in 7 months now but I can still go do the legion raids with my main. I main Striker(raid), and alts are Blade(chaos dungeons and income stuff or sometimes raid), Demonic, and Lancemaster. I started with Berserker and Holyknight but scrapped them (not pley them except for the passive income stuff).

2 weeks in, i enjoy doing the bosses, so im just going collect dailys and slowly scale up. dont find a need to grind 12 hours or pay alot to enter the next pay wall lol

Finally someone is being strait to NA audience. No alts "fall behind" ty. Ofc u dont have to play alts but this is the truth - more alts faster progression and benefits. Ofc it is doable with 1 main but with slow pace. But telling u dont need alts to compete with hardcore players (what ever p2w or nolife)bullpoop.
sure u can play just 1 character but without alts and if you don't pay you will be at such slow progression you kinda never will catch up to other because new stuff will come out before u do so you are always behind.
@ yes i understand t1 t2 alts are not needed. But we all know t3 is comming up and there are going to be bunch of updates so game pace wont w8 for slow pacers. Ty for ur opinion. Really didnt like when other streamers who i really like to watch tell ppl only about "u dont have to have bunch of alts" without explaining what actually they bring.

By having alts, you can enjoy and have fun playing other classes and at the same time, you can earn mats and other resources for adventurer’s tome esp silver which is really impt endgame. Once your alts are in the same tier or ilevel with your main, you can do all the dailies to help out your main for mats and vice versa. Your alts can do towers for honing mats but make sure to research the stronghold thing tho and abyss dungeons for engraving accessories! You dont need to spend real money or gold for your alts unless you want the best for your alts.
One more thing, for alts you can do transfer knowledge anyways but you need gold for this one tho. I would suggest to transfer knowledge them for vern only then do all the main quest from there to feiton so you can earn silver and some rewards. This is also a fun way to learn other classes’ skills esp if you are into PvP. This is mainly my opinion about having alts! Currently, I’ve got 4 alts. Tbh, it is a bit tough rotating with my 5 characters but as zeals mentioned, you dont need to do chaos and guardians on a daily basis if you dont want to.
Does knowledge transfer work the same as the power pass?

Yes it basically the same thing but transfer knowledge does cost you 600 gold for vern and 8 hours waiting time so better do it when you are about to sleep while vern pass is free and your character goes level 50 straight away with some rewards like pet and cosmetics.
Yeah I found, with my available time, I can sustain the main and three characters, all of them do the chaos dungeon, main always do the guardians, and on alts I make a rotation, one each day, so is more manageable for me. Maybe in the future I will do more but the extra time goes into horizontal content.

I see it as, the more you can manage the better, and remember the rest bonus, cuz if you got 6 alts, you do chaos dungeons and guardians with 2 a day
In a way it’s good for the game I feel for people to explore other classes, however I’ve always been one to find my favorite class and try to master that class, min/max. Not to mention the time to manage several alts… I just don’t have that kind of time anymore. I personally hate the fact that it feels like a necessity to manage alts.
Jokes on you, for me, that harem on selection character screen is the ultimate end game. I'm 100% buying this idea of having as much alts as I can.
So I recently had burnout to the point where I would only do unas and maybe some weeklies. I have a main and 5 alts. I got hooked again when something in my brain clicked. With a lil perspective change, I viewed my roster as a crew, the alts were working for the main trying to reach them. Once I started treating the alts as a group instead of individuals, the game hooked me right back in lol
I got to T3 on my main and leveled 6 more by playing them. Didn’t use the knowledge transfer yet. I enjoyed playing them. I want the new classes to come out so bad.

I love the fact that you need alts because it gives you a really great reason to continuously try other classes that wont burn you out on your main
Tbh this kinda reminds me of Destiny and I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Basically in Destiny if you want to be endgame quickly you need 3 characters and need to play all 3 to progress quickly. I do like it cause if let’s you play different classes etc.
FFXIV does it better. Alts should be optional, not mandatory. Let players decide if they want to play alts, instead of forcing us to sit through a mediocre generic Korean MMO plot with flat (and rare) voice acting and wooden writing 10 times over.

From my perspective, you're boring af for playing the same shit story 12 times to experience all the class-based content a game has to offer instead of just playing a good story once so that you can actually pay attention AND switch freely to try something different at any time, which is intelligent game design because everybody gets what they want: boring people who want to burn themselves out on alts + the same story X times can do so, and the rest of us can spend our time on better content than a story-repeating prolonged leveling process* (which itself is not, and has never been a strong suit of MMOs).

It could be great to have a video about parking points (ilvl) and stuff like that. Like when I need to park my main and then work on the alt char's parking point. Which points I need to park them at and etc...

Hi Zeal, thanks for the informative video. I have heard from people that when making the alts, it should be the same class as your main, but it hasn't been well explained. I think the idea of many alts of different class could keep things fresh, but if they are all going to be the same..... that surely feels boring. Could you explain on this?
I’ll make a video on this it was supposed to be part of this video but it was already too long
Making same class alts would save some resources for setting up that alt. This is because gems are transferrable and read engravings are account-wide. When ur alt gets to t3 legion raids, you would have to get them minimally set for raids. If u have a main of the same class, you dont need to spend gold and silver for setting t3 gems as u can just transfer gems from ur main to ur alt whenever needed. Also if you read engravings relevant to ur main, ur alt will use them too (esp class specific engravings), so u save gold for buying accessories for ur engravings.
But as you said, you might get bored by playing one class for multiple characters. So you would just create alts of another class to keep u more engaged in the game. Basically a tradeoff between freshness/fun with efficiency.

I played lost ark on jp server with only 1 character back when jp didnt have catch up boost in tier 1 and tier 2. It took me 2 or 3 months of casual playing to catch up to the end of tier 2 no problem. Have never been behind a single time ever since and all that was for FREE. Like, Japan didnt even allow me to buy stuff cuz I was overseas.
I’m assuming there will be catch up boosts when tier 3 come out? I also hear tier 3 is a lot better, is that because it’s easier to gear on main? I’m a new player and don’t care to rush ilvl since there are other ways to progress your character/account.
@@Juvaugn i also do believe there will be a catchup boost when argos comes out in a month. No need to rush and it might even be a good idea to sell or stock your mats for later instead of honing your gear now

Just a heads up Zeals roxx confirmed we will have knowledge transfer at launch. I'm guessing it will cost the same gold to boost a character to 50 like the other servers.

Doesn’t change a thing, 600 gold is the price for first stage and we don’t know if it’s going to be same as Korea. Also 600g first week of release is mad expensive it’s not the same value per dollar for gold for West and Korea

If you only have time for one character, then one is fine because with the amount of time you have to play per day, you won't be playing the very end content anyway. I got sick of playing with 6. SO considering time vs progression, I found 4 reasonable. With the other 2 I just got bused since I didn't have the time and getting bused you still earn more gold overall than not doing it.

This reminds me of maplestory and the whole legion mechanic but instead of getting skills and bonus stats; this game allow you to get more currency /materials. In a sense rewarding the player for trying out more characters. Can’t wait for the game to come out and experience everything and start making mules

Thanks for the great video! One thing I'm confused about is having characters across different servers in the same region. Is the shared stash region wide? Is the account XP region wide? Can you share gold between servers?

I have some opinions of this game on NAEU release and Lost Ark as game in general, so can you please confirm my statements?
1. T3 release, instead of T1 only, just makes life easier for both casual and new players, and nolifers have something to do atleast with T3. So it's a win-win situation!
2. The "REST" system is damn awesome, so casual+ friendly, nothing do add more, great system!
3. Making this game so great in many aspects with all this classes, 99.9% of players will at some point try other class or more of them simply cause they like the gameplay of it, and devs made the system great by REWARDING players for playing with more alts, NOT MAKING YOU to play alts if you want to progress, cause casual players will anyways spend like 2-4 hours a day and play at their own pace, not rushing anything and just enjoy the game.
4. Devs made "pay for convinience" for those who cant play the game 7+ hours a day but want to taste that 1400+ end game, and they gave them that option but not for free, in my opinion it's great. It's not P2W cause every thing that's in the shop, you can farm, just needs time.
In general, developers made the game for everyone imo, or am i wrong at something? And btw, i think the game will explode on release and at some point in time reaching top 3 mmo's.

Hey I was just wondering what that ability on your S key in rifle stance for your gunslinger was. I've looked everywhere but can't find it for my gunslinger. Do you think they'll ever add it to the Western servers?
Probably target down. Every class has a skill that needs to be unlocked at trixion after hitting 50 along with an awakening skill.

I had four accounts before the changes to gold coming from endgame raids in the Western launch we don’t know if we will have that but we don’t even have endgame raids off the bat so doesn’t matter just yet

Nice video. One comment though: To get a Level 10 gem, you would need 3^9 = 19'683 Level 1 gems, not 3^10.

Pretty sure if you’re an mmo player, the chance that ppl can clear it about a day or two. Could take a week to level all classes if the game has a farmable content
