Oh my. Bless her and you. Interesting how the music keeps us all alive...literally and. Figuratively. Peace to you and yours. Gail in Central Florida Thursday, January 27, 2022.
That's cool your mom was there.smart lady. Sorry about your great. Loss make her proud as I'm sure she is. keep going on you'll join up with her later in heaven. Take care.
@@freeamerica4760 and look at the lineup. It's not just Tom. It's Leon. It's Dr. John. It's John Prime. It's Prince. It's John Lennon It's on and on and on and what a hell of a jam it's going to be I can't wait to yell and holler. Peace.
Sexy and that infectious smile of his, along with singing/songwriting! Perfection! RIP Dr. Tom Petty. You rocked us passionately and we loved it! Always remembered. Never forgotten 💘💘💘💘
Oh..What Happiness in Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers..Taken but Never Will I ever Stop loving All his Music..R.I.P. ..Surely your in Paradise..You made Our Lives So Wonderful..Talent Beyond ..Words..
Tom sure is excuberant and full of joy during this show. It's heartwarming to see him happy. I have a strong feeling that he has that sweet joy now that he is on the Other Side. Bless him.
I loved Tom Petty from the first time I heard him on the radio, and I marked every epoch of my life by his new albums. Wildflowers is my favorite, and his spirit is with us forever. Greatest American band and Tom was the greatest songwriter ever. Now I imagine him playing with Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Howie Epstein and all the greats who've passed. Thank you for posting this amazing concert. Wow. Sends me to heaven . Right here on earth. ❤😢
This is an extraordinary document of an integral moment in the history of the Heartbreakers. New energy with Ferrone in the band, and Howie still performing at the peek of his abilities (and looking like an absolute bad ass). I love this band so much. they were never quite the same again without Howie. I love Ron Blair, but once Howie was gone, there was always a massive musical void in the Heartbreakers for me at least.
I love the Wildflowers era Heartbreakers. The early to mid 90's were like a second wind for the band. Not many bands continue to write hits into their mid 40's. Name another group that achieved their initial success in the 70's and were still performing relevant and exciting material in the 90's!
What I notice about Tom during this time, at the early nighties, is that he looks so happy onstage, often flirting with the audience and looks healthy. Howie was a big big loss. His voice.. my god. And always so humble (like the rest of the band).
I was at this concert as a AYS guest service representative aka a usher , He was a great performer and will be miss. Tom Petty , we love your music. Thank you for a great memory... 😍
Mike is the King of double stops and triads. He is just a master guitarist. I can only wish to play some of these songs at all, let alone play as good as Mike Campbell. He is always focused on Tom, because you never know what he's gonna do.
so hard to take it in. I keep forgetting. more like i still can't believe it, or I keep forgetting. he brought so much life to me and to so many with his music and that smile and that sense you get that he's up on stage but it's no big deal because really he's right there next to you. it's been hard to deal with losing so many of my heroes but with tom its a whole other level of familiarity and respect and the love of his directness straight through the heart. he's just so alive, he just embraced it so easily and so well that it's just makes it that much harder to take it in that he's gone.
The Energy of This Band,,,Makes up The Whole Sound of Tom Petty &The Heartbreakers,,,Sooooooo Much Talent Here,,Awesomely Wonderful,,,Thanks Guys,,,You Rock,,,🎶🎹🎼💥❤️💥
Tallinn8786 I was just thinking the same exact thought. Wow. One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I never got to see him live in concert. Here he was, right here in Chicago....just 40 minutes away from my house....and I didn't see this concert (or any others)....😢💔
Hapax007 yes....ppl (like me) are scouring UA-cam for anything Tom Petty. I can't seem to get enough myself. God, he was just SO good. Still so sad, even almost 2 months later....😢😢💔
I love this testament to Tom and the Heartbreakers' amazing live offerings but I hate watching Tom try to engage with Mike at this show. Tom is so high and Mike isn't having it. I really hate that I read about Tom's death on the bus thinking "life support" was a new album. We all share the struggle, but not all of us survive it despite our best efforts. Thank you for these slices of beauty:)
I don't know if I could pick a favorite Nick Cave song but this is in the top 10. Some people have amazing musical talent but if they can't write they'll never be in this category.
Yes.....I saw that....and I thought....and too many people dissed Tom for his smoking.....I think in all the videos I've watched I've seen ALL of them smoking.....Howie clipped his on his guitar while performing...
@BKD Vickers Bun E Carlos. Stan Lynch was hanging around them for a little while. Dex Neilson - Rick's son even let him play on his drums at a couple of gigs too which was pretty nice
God I love "American Girl"😭😍😍😍. Does anyone know....did they always end their shows with that song..?? Seems like many of the concerts I've watched here on UA-cam ended with American Girl...❤️
I know that Tom snd the ♡Breakers did not end their concerts in the '70s, '80s, with American Girl! He must have begun doing that in the 90s sometime that I'm not sure of the exact year! Maybe someone here knows what year that tradition begin?
Thanks. I guess many of the concerts I've seen here on UA-cam ENDED with American girl .....but I can also understand opening with it. It was one of the very first tunes that put TP & the HBers on the map, so to speak......so it makes sense he might end or even begin with it. During the concert I just watched, he said "this is an oldie, one that started it all for us....." :). Funny. I could always take or leave that song, it was never one of my REAL faves, but the more I listen to it, the more I truly love it. I think it's because I picture them singing it when they were VERY young.....late 70's....and it makes me smile every single time now :) ❤️ God bless 'em all.....and RIP Tom (who's with Howie now). He is so sorely missed.......
I know "American Girl" was the last song in his last concert. So, It was also the last song of his life😪And, he still sang it as well then as 40 years ago. Never lost his ability to sing forever.
I know this is going to sound weird but thank God he finally realized not to comb his hair back. Just let it hang down and be Tom Petty. My goodness. First I didn't realize it was him. Oh my oh my oh my.
My mom was here! She’s passed now and it’s so nice to watch this knowing she was somewhere in that crowd, thanks for posting!

WOW, I was there WITH my mom! Sadly, she passed just a few months ago; we went to tons of shows together. Thank God for the memories 😂

I hope Tom was as happy as he looked during this concert. Hope he is now blissfully in heaven. Sending love up to heaven. RIP dear Tom Petty.

That's a great comment I'm watching this in February 2023 seen Petty a few times live. Some of the best times of my life 😊☮️

I love this line up with Howie and Steve. Class act 💕

I already lost the only two children that I gave birth to, and they both died loving TOM PETTY. THEY are both in heaven with Tom .
Hugs 🤗. My son left this earth loving Tom Petty also. Alex’s mom forever 29 ❤️
God bless you. I'm so sorry you lost your two children. I know it brings much comfort knowing they are in heaven with Tom. Sending my condolences.
Wildflowers are actually one of my favorite flowers ever! A beautiful, vibrant mix, a beekeeper's paradise...

He was a great performer and will be miss. Tom Petty , we love your music.
Thank you for a great memory... 😍
Good job for that one! Peace out.
"I woke up in between a memory and a dream"... 💕
Isn’t that just tattoo worthy? 😉 I mean come on that is just as great a line as anyone has ever written.
Steve Ferrone is just what Tom needed then.
Tom really proved he could make hit records in the 90s like he did in the 70s and 80s.
RIP Howie and Tom.
WHY DO WE LOSE THE GREATEST?
Steve Ferrone saved the Average White Band in 1975 when Robbie Mckintosh died. He did the same thing for TP and the Heartbreakers.
I was at this show. HBD. Still miss you.
Can't go a day without listening to the legend 😢

the drum sound is amazing!
I can feel his love pouring through
I attended the February 28 show in Louisville. Their first concert in awhile so they opened in a smaller venue.
