We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.
My one and only Dead show, which I look back on as a religious experience. Truly grateful to have stumbled upon this high quality video after 30 years. 4 of us drove 3 hours from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to attend. Only a few short weeks later, we loaded up on the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2 to go to Desert Shield/Desert Storm. What a period in my young life at that time. Very blessed to see Jerry and the gang. Now I’m almost as old as Jerry when he passed way too soon. Life flys by. Seems like yesterday. Grateful is such a wonderful and profound word. God bless you all.
OMG what do we do now 😭😭. Kevin McCarthy
Hey, Semper Fi. I saw my first dead show in 1976 at Winterland. I was also on an LPH as a CH-46 mech ( USS Okinawa LPH 3 ) in 1972. Be safe
Larry Mackereth Jr. thank you for your service
I met an army Ranger at this show who had been in Panama and was pretty traumatized by what he saw and did there. We had a long heart to heart after the show and wound up corresponding for a couple of years after that. He did his hitch and got out right after Desert Storm, he was glad to be moving on. I've lost touch with him but hopefully he's still out there and at peace with himself.
My first show - of many - but wow this was something special. The girl I was with - Anneka Foushee - has since sadly died from cancer - but we had a beautiful time at the show - even after realizing our ride had left us after the show was over - got a ride home with a random dental hygienist who was super nice - all the while Anneka's fingernails are dug into my arm cause - of course - we were trippin balls. Ha. Good, fun, beautiful times - glad you got to be there too Larry - we even got down on the grassy area before the cops rolled in and blocked it off!

thanx
I have been tempted, on almost every song, to jump in the comments and just go off on how top notch the playing and the band's energy and moods are. What a fantastic show to get such good video, this could be a great DVD.
Thanks!! (~);-}
Thank you for the set list🥀⚘🌷 and the time codes😊
RIP Brent Mydland, my favorite keyboardist in the band!
Me too. He could tear down the house with his B3.
I seen pigpen right on through all of them and Brent was definitely the best by far
ABsolutely. I always used to say fat man sweats, thin man spits, young man ROCKS
check out @playbrentsongs on instagram for some sweet Brent stickers made by my buddy

That '72 Candy Man is a thing
out of 300+ shows and still to this day this was my longest trip in a car....I was living in Palm Beach FL and drove from South Florida to see them in Louisville, KY and then after that show I drove my friend to Memphis to see his family. I then turned back on I-40 and headed east all the way to North Carolina. Saw the show, went back to Memphis to pick up my friend and then headed back to FL. About 3000 miles I drove during one week to see the band in two different states!! man, those were the good ole days for sure
I was there. On the floor. On a quarter of shrooms and a fith of tequilla!
An absolute magical experience!!!
Killing it on most of the set list, space jam and drums.... not so much this night.....
Jeez my guy lol how many times you puke 😂😂
god bless you brent. he was just starting to peak, and then he left us. sometimes he is overlooked with the death of jerry, but he should be remembered in his own right. rip...
Love and Miss Brent
Best fills and harmony ever
@Mookie Blaylock i just never was a Vince fan. if it wasn't for Hornsby i don't think you would have that many good shows after brent died. brent seemed to pour his heart out onstage, and watch the chemistry between jerry and brent. they seemed like they would feed off each other the last few years before brent died. i think jerry lost a part of his magic after brent. i wish i had the chance to see brent. if anything brent was very talented.
@Mookie Blaylock jerry just seemed different to me after brent died. i can't really put a finger on it, but they seemed to feed off each other...
I saw 21 shows with Brent and one with Vince and Bruce. That's all I need to say.
Man... These jams are real tight. The guys we 're feeling it for sure. Jerry looks somewhat healthy, Phil was shredding,Brent obviously was going through it but still rippin, just very cohesive. Learned a lot tonight because of this show. I knew 90' was the year Brent died, so I was curious about the Bruce sit ins. Found that Brent left Earth just 2 weeks later. These are the last days of his life. Special moments in Dead history. Thank you Brent!
I loved Brent. Wish I would've known this was the last we would see of him. He left it all out there!
They don’t bring back his music either , so sad ! ❤️🐇🐰😢🥲😥🥵😰🥶how mad I got when Brent left us because they didn’t celebrate his life at all that I know of ? 😍🥰😘🥲😢😥
I was there. That lightning bolt came so close to the stage. It's a miracle no one got hit. Crazy crazy show. Iko is killer
@@lakecrazy I was wondering WTF was going on when the music suddenly stopped.
I was there up close on the right side. I remember the storm getting close and lightning in the distance but did not see nearby strikes or hear thunder and was confused when the music stopped. Was told by a stagehand later that a generator blew up after a surge probably caused by lightning in the area.
legs of lightning
I was on 6th row middle just gettin that liquid going on when the lightning hit, still a Vivid memory
@@lakecrazy that was one of the most incredible moments I remember from any show.
My first show!! I was 15 years old. My brother took me and it changed my life forever.
Jack Straw's last chorus makes clear why Brent's Era had the best vocal section of GDs history. Damn Brents, Bobbys and Jerrys voices matched just perfectly.
I so wish that there was video of Jack Straw from Europe ‘72. Was there ever a more magical rendition?
I wish I knew but sorry I don’t , that’s in the hands of the recorders !
Speaking of Brent, the backing vocals in Brokedown Palace will bring a tear to your eye.
Yeah, it’s amazing how much Brent is a part of this band I love him
He's got no way of losing this time....wow again - love his voice
Summer '90' was a great tour!! These Shakedown Streams are really coming through for us fans!!!
Many heartfelt thanks to all involved in bringing these shows to the masses!!!.
as if the spring wasn't an all time best!
I agree..I think fall of '89 and spring/summer of '90 were the best Dead shows of the modern era!
I agree. I cant get enough...although us real heads have been doing shakedown stream for years now. Thanks to David for the HD footage.
@@christophercumming8351 Late '89 and '90 was the Peak for the band for several reasons. The sound was Incredible with the latest of tech at Healy's fingers, Jerry was relatively healthy and playing well (he was more inconsistent during the Vince era)and Brent was becoming a major force in the band with more of his songs and covers like Gimme Some Lovin and just taking over sometimes.
@@christophercumming8351 I'm gonna say 84-89 (right up till about the time Standing on the Moon came out), for the simple fact my- 1st was in 84. Funny that their "peak in sales and popularity" was just getting ready to explode (90-91). To Other Respondents: Feel free NOT to correct my fuzzy memories of dates. Thanks. I won't remember anyhow... BUT, do as you will.
My first show. It changed my life.
Brent was so great, I absolutely love what he offered to the sound
“Thanks Bruce Hornsby for sitting in with us. We’re bringing him back later on.” Prophetic words right there.
Damn. Jerry knew. Haha
Well Jerry did say he saw it coming in the ‘91 RS interview. Sucked. Still not over it.
I remember the '90 tour. So glad I got to see and hear Brent live. Hornsby opened for the Dead.
WOW
No kidding.
“Listen to the river sing sweet songs….” ⚡️
I was there in person, what an amazing show it was!
I didn't go see The Grateful Dead so many times just because I love them
But because I needed it.
I needed to feel the vibe the deepness
The love
Ringing in mY ears. My body needed this sound so much like a drug.
that was one heck of a we can run every unappreciated song more relevant than ever. Classic Barlow.
I really wish all their live stuff was mixed as well as Europe '72, where a lot of the nuances and interplay came out awesomely. Here's to all the folks out there listening. A thread of sanity in an insane world :)
My first concert ever
I can't believe it was 30 years ago I was at this show. A young Gen-xer who went on tour with a deadhead buddy the summer before starting college, this was some experience for this guy. I'll never forget it.
Had the same experience. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Oh Brent we loved you so much, of course still do but miss you dearly
Bruce and Jerry sharing a mic.. PRICELESS
Thank you for sharing this! Wow, what an experience being there and now those memories flood back like it was yesterday! The first show for me, I was so elevated in the moment. The 100 degree heat, too much tequila before The Dead hit the stage, had a heat stroke. My girlfriend that was with us got to the first aid station where they cooled me down, and I good to go. Add the Thunderstorm, power outage, guys came back and keep jamming. Watching gate crashes and hill sliders and wondering WTF are these State Troopers going to do! It was like a religious experience for me. Wore out my concert t-shirt over the years, where the blue fade to white, bears barely recognizable, see through with holes. Passed the music down to my son's and we jammed over the years down on our river with our friends.
Six days later my life was changed forever for good.
What a solid show. I was there and I appreciate this show more now then actually being there. I can’t say I didn’t have any fun that day, but I was too uptight that day, perhaps, plus I was a different person then.
I am appreciative of the upload and grateful to have been a part of it then and now. Thank you!
What a great memory, went to many dead shows but this one was in my back yard. I lived off Clark Ave in Ral and we walked there and floated home. I met a girl named Michelle and we had the best time, never saw her again. It was perfect.
My wife’s first show. Hot, hot day and a smokin night. The Stella broke me down. We all had a great time.
This was the best concert I ever went too, not only because the Dead gave the best performance, but because all my friends were all there and I was bumping into them everywhere the whole show. I had a field ticket and was trying to get down when Jack Straw was playing. It was so congested with people and security wasn't letting us jumped down, a bunch of us jumped down the second Loser came on, which the security in the back didn't like. Later on almost the entire hill charged down the hill overwhelmingly security, which we heard was the reason for the power out. Maybe it was the drugs, but I swore at the time that the Dead took control of the storm, but I now think they were just feeding off the storms energy.
Yes.
It was people like you that ruined the shows and the dead hated
In Italy we are grateful :)
Listen to Brent singing - he is so happy - run run run - he is into the music - I don't think he knew what was happening - he loved Jerry & jesus so much.... listen to him - watch him - he is into the music
Can't believe I get to relive this show 30 years later what a blast was there a 1990 and I'm still here in 2020
Wish there was a love button, 'cause I don't like this... I LOVE it!!!
Just what I needed on this lazy Saturday night chilling with my cats by the woodstove. Waiting for my love to come home. I really love the grateful dead and this is why.
One of the best Dead shows that I saw live.
You can run!!!! But you can't hide!!!! And remember people you can't run away from yourself!!!!! Peace N Love to all my Family out there!!!!
Same to u Rosebud ! 🩷🐇🐰🎶💀☠️⚡️☮️🐦🔥🐉👽🪐🛸🚀🩷🥲😥😢😰🥵🥶🕊️🪽👻Jerry has come to me as a ghost !!!
This was my 1st Dead concert - 30 years ago! Forever thankful that I got to catch a show with Brent before he passed away. I was 15 years old and had just finished my freshman year at Apex High School. OMG, I'm so excited to tune in for this tomorrow! I've always wanted to watch a re-play of this show - esp since it was a good one with lots of excitement! Thanks for selecting this one for tomorrow!
this was my 1st Dead show too!
I'm a year younger and didn't see them until I was a freshman in Charlotte in 91
Glad you got to see Brent, such a prodigious talent!
My first concert ever
Saw them in 74 for the 1st time. Love to see the posts above from the folks coming in much later. Amazing!
I was at this show! Hotter than Hades heading into the stadium. Local fire trucks spraying water up in the air for folks to cool down. Later the rain and that lightning bolt that struck so close behind the stage! Really enjoyed the show and grateful for this video.
I was at a show in Cape Cod , the same thing happened but no problems with the electric power but the lightning ⚡️ was hitting all over the place but they kept playing , nothing was going to stop them ! ❤️🐇🐰🎶☮️💀☠️⚡️🕊️🪽🐦🔥🐉👻👽🪐🛸🚀friends
I live in Raleigh and was at this show. It was HOT AS HELL, A RECORD BREAKING TEMP DAY, BUT......
The Music never stopped!
Killer Show!!
Great Memories!!!
89/90 the Dead were at their peak imo. Absolute 🔥
Great show, thank you Shakedown Stream for the share💀⚡🌹
late 70's were great also
I also believe that 1989 > Summer 90 one of their finest eras. Summer 89 through Spring 90 in particular.
However 70-77 each had momentous. 1975 - 1978 were perfection. 1980 > 1983. There isn't a bad era, it's just a matter of when you happened to start seeing shows, age, etc. As long as you got to bond with Jerry & the boys, you are one of the lucky ones. We saw the greatest band of all time & knew it! We were so fortunate! We lived while Jerry lived!!!
Best of the late era. But 72-74 perfection.
@Brian Baker love late 71' through 74'
Do u prefer Keith to Brent? For me I think that's the difference.
I was there I still have my ticket stub I was 17 my first and only Dead concert,I was tripping balls and doing nitrous balloons 🎈 the crowd looked like 1 big tye dye wave 😆awsome concert
If I could trade places with you then hahaha
bobby's hair feeling the ELECTRICITY!
!god damn phil is the most "lead guitar" gifted bass player I've seen
Oh yes! I love Phil! So unique in that way. I love focusing on how he and Jerry play off each other!
No Phil no GD
Lesh is more
Phil Lesh is a musical genius. I don't use that term loosely.....
Phil kicks ass. He's in my top 4 musicians of all time!!
Holy Shiznet, poppycock, and balderdash, that set was awesome. A few words forgotten in the winds of time while, keyboards played, the drummers rolled, and the guitarists took us to heights untold. The Grateful Dead an American Beauty !
With you. Transcendent.
Three years later I still say the same thing...
Brent and Bruce together on stage.. PRICELESS
Looks like Bruce was a guest for 6 shows prior to joining the band. I was at this one and the first - Buckeye '88. Introduced myself to him many years ago at ACC Basketball tourney and was able to shake his hand and tell him I was at Buckeye, and to thank him for the great music.
www.agitators.com/gd/bruce.html
never been to a show, being gen xer that didn't have any decent older musical influences for this sort of thing until it was too late. so this is just from listening and such the past 20 years and really digging it the past 6 or 7. just wanted to say it's amazing how i started off being only a 70s fan for years but now seeing these late 80s and 90s shows the past couple months has opened up a whole new appreciation. it really is a never ending journey.
My cousin started taking me to these things when I was pretty young. I'm grateful for that. I'm 45. He passed away in '96 up in Colorado. Take care
ua-cam.com/video/aSiwB5Xkvi4/v-deo.html
The Brent era is 🔥🔥🔥
summer 90 is amazing stuff
Late 70’s into 80 and late 80’s into 90, that’s where it’s at imho
I took my brother Kevin Hill to W & M show in Va. It was his first concert at the tender age of 11. My first Dead show was Roosevelt Stadium and 38 other shows over the years ( 39 Dead shows) and at least attendance at almost every show from 75-85 at MSG, NASSAU, BBA, Capital theater, RCMH, Bottom Line. The front row was home for me. I’m in the fence at Englishtown show right alongside of Michael Becker my college buddy who introduced me to the R & R lifestyle traveling up and down the East Coast. And we had 16 seats in the first two rows for The Wall at the last night of 5 at Nassau. Caught 2 of the 3 year drop guitar pics thrown by PF to me when the Wall came down. The 3rd hit my chest and I lost the battle for it to some other scalper while I controlled possession of 2. What a blast that was!!! I would have went every night if I’d have known how great it was.
Has anyone ever seen (heard?) Jerry sharing his mic with anyone? Jer is having so much fun with Bruce and Brent, as always. I firmly be.ieve this show and experience with Bruce is what brought Bruce on after Brent. High energy and excitement from the storm. So many good things about this show. My 1st, and wow. You don't listen to Grateful Dead music, Grateful Dead music happens to you.
I was 4th row center, right in front of Jerry. Keep hoping to catch a glimpse of myself!
My very first Dead show. Cant believe this just popped up in UA-cam. Thank you so much.
Jerry having a great time makes me happy!!! He was the real Deal !!!♥️
And it was is a religious experience millions feel the same as I do 300 shows later so happy you had the experience to
Let us know that music is vibration and has many powers to heal love forgive etc
My first show !! And I'm still on the bus!!
I just hope I get to see myself sliding down the mud hill in the back of the stadium. Summer ‘90 was killer every single night.
That was you? I hope you didn't get hurt; that looked like a nasty fall.
I remember cheering the folks sliding down the hill. Great show
How did you folks get up there.
@@jhobopopo2yo209 that was an icline behind the end zone on the side of the field opposite the stage. It was roped off to keep people out. During the 3rd song of the show a big ass thunderstorm hit and it was raining like crazy, so it got really muddy really fast. There appeared to be no footing because when people tried to enter that area, down they went. It looked like some people might have been injured, can't say for sure, after all it was 30 years ago. Anyway, that's why the audience was so loud during Masterpiece. Nobody was watching the band at that moment; everybody was watching the show on the hill! 😂 You can't blame folks for wanting to be in that area, because it looked like a great vantage point to watch the show, and that rope sure as hell wasn't gonna keep anyone out. Apparently security just said "screw it" and people were allowed to stay there. All part of what made this a memorable night.
Me too!
Especially Jerry - I absolutely love that man
When Phil cranks the knob in Jack Straw the boys all take it to another level
Look at him - watch his face move as he sings - he is wonderful - I love love love him - no time to lose this time - wow is all we can say for the whole group - there will never be a group like them again....
So true. Just the fact that every live show was tons of improvisation. They would leave open areas for Al the solos and communicate during the song when to go back to chorus, etc. plus, Jerry was the best guitarist of our generation. He literally solos like most the time. And improve solo are the Uber max! As you said, never again will we have the honor the experience the Grateful Dead. Absolutely unique. It started from the acid tests way back in late 50s. They played all night with no prepared set list. Then Augustus Ozley Stanley kind of adopted them. A unique set of experiences. All through the 60s and 70s if you around the band and drank anything they have you, you were dosed with the top notch Lysergic Acid Ozley Stanley style!!!
There will never be another guitarist like Jerry. People say he was good and all that, but people don’t realize he was a master. Good enough the improve solo in live performances. Yes, that good. One of the best ever and matches Jimmy.
This was my first show. Jack straw opener rips. Loser is fire. Such great memories. So excited that there’s video. Can’t wait.
So Jer's big run at the end of Loser, why the hell did they have the camera on Phil? What a shame.
He didn’t want to b there anymore but they wouldn’t let him leave because of the cost of the money it cost them ! 😥🥲😢😰🥵🥶💔🐇🐰💀☠️⚡️🕊️🪽👻☮️Jerry would want us to b ok but how in hell could we b ? 😞😟😕🙁☹️😖😫😤
Summer tour 1990 was so intense! Never missed a show that summer tour... Could have went to Europe as a high school graduation gift, but I went on tour instead... It was a summer that helped define my path both good and not so good! Wouldn't change a thing. 30 years later when I get confused, I still listen to the music play!!! Thanks for another great show!!
Same here
Wow, would’ve been a hard call for me, even if I could travel back in time knowing what I know. Better lineup with Brent, but I might still opt for Europe ‘90. Ah well, at least it’s all on audio and video !
Had the same choice in 1988. Went to Europe. Came back and saw them in Sept at MSG and then over 100 more including full Spring Tour in '91. Saw Rome and the Captain. Europe is a must! Go! (Well, once this dickweed Trump stops getting us banned)
Ted, m here 30 years after this show to say they’re the best at what they do. Keep on truck in’
Grateful dead played europe in fall 1990..so you could have seen the european tour if u had chosen to goto europe!! Win win...lol
I was there 30 years ago. This is incredible to be able to watch it again. I remember the lighting and the crowd running down the field in Masterpiece. Over the years I have heard tapes of this and when the crowd runs down the hill you can't hear the band over the crowd cheering.
I do remember the taking of the hill it started with one he tried to stop but the grass was wet he hoped the bottom fence that started the crowd egging is on then another then another then all ..the memories of summer 90 are truly magical
This Promised land and how they handled their technical difficulties sums up why this is the best live band ever
So f**** cool
Best live EVER. Anyone that knows the dead knows they made albums because they had to. The live shows was where it was at. Every live show was different. Different solos, different improvisations. The live shows were completely different from any of their albums. The live recordings by the “ tapers” is where it’s at. Jerry would cry sometimes during the most beautiful solos. The Lyceum, that’s all I gotta say.
The bus come by and I got on...
I just took a little green gelly wilh a small black x or spider and im laying on my back in the hollywood hills by the hollywood bowl and across fron the ford theatre with a beautiful view of the cross and downtown Los Angeles in a mountain with no homes just humming bird a lizards doing pushups all around me not to mention the 2 big red tail hawks and listening to this whole show but currently on stella when i text this. Wow totally relaxed!! :) great visuals added in this show from the screen as well as possibly added special effects! And Hornsby. Wow. And the show just raised 20 thousand for people with covid or suffering. The show helped me today not to suffer but to Shine and get back Truckin on!! What a long strange tripp it been!!! 🌻 the tripp this 🌄 has just begun. I bid farewell tonight to al the PHAM PHAM!!! Peace Love and Happiness and 😂 Joy to all!!! ;)
God bless America and the Grateful Dead. I am so blessed to be a citizen of both communities.
Summer 1990 was fucking HOT!
I wasn’t there but I don’t like the usa because we killed off most of the Indian tribes plus we bought over the black folks to b slaves
We need the dead more than ever..
Chills during We Can Run.
Those of us following those tours in the l80's to 95 we're a special breed and damn lucky to be able to witness Brent and Jerry live.
Can you imagine what a thrill that was for Bruce as a deadhead sharing a mic with Jerry at the finale of Masterpiece?! Awesome
1990 concert = jammin' real instruments, rockn' crowd, no cell phones! It was a different time!
And an incredible show as well!!
@@dwc7325 Not at the shows! If you were there, you would have known the difference.
I was there and I now realize the fella I saw holding the hot dog like a phone and seeming to talk to it must have been a foreshadowing.
Amazing show glad it was just a guy with a hotdog.....
Phil's bass in Bird song is phenomenal.
Playin is MAGICAL this night.
Can't wait to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this one! Along with the mudslide and power outage, anyone remember the thunder and lightning show during drumz, or was that just me??? Epic
I remember it, in spite of the 3 hits of acid I did that day. I remember wondering what was the largest amount of people electrocuted st a single time.
Yes I remember vividly some guy in a tree as lightning bolts lit up sky
And birdsong
I was not at this one but wish I was but glad to c it on here ! 😂🤣😅♥️✌️🌹❤️🪐👽👻🐰Jerry the love of my whole life ! ❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️♥️
All the heads dropping out of that Big Ass tree when the lightning struck!
Thirty years ago, O my how life goes by...
It’s 2021 and here I am watching this show. I was there that day in the summer heat, 4th row left center. I’m sure that I speak for almost every genXer that those were the best of times.I miss those days soo much now. It was such a simpler time!!
Bless you and we were a few rows back.
One of my favorite shows of all time. Just want to thank you so much for posting!
like Dean said, its took a global pandemic to get you people at HQ to let out this new video. it is long awaited and so greatly appreciated! cant wait to watch the next one!

@@gratefuldead its so important in times like these, to see the brightness through the darkness. If you get confused listen to the music play!
There is no god it’s all made up fariey tales ! No truth in that Bible , only a little bit !
Now we finally get to see what happened during Promised Land!
They just fell right back in to it.... amazing.
I was there. Thought for sure they would do something strange like start up a different song, but they just seamlessly started right up where the power cut off. Pretty impressive if you think about it. We had a great time this Spring & Summer, saw some fantastic shows... RFK after this with the rain and Dark Star is one of my best memories from 90. Cheers!!
Yes!!!! And to watch the lightning, and see the crowd almost take the hill during uncle, and finally storm it during masterpiece

it was awesome.
I’m so glad for uyall to have been there to c this before things went to hell ! Bobby did great getting Dead + Company together with those new boys who were excellent !
My first show, the heat, the mud, the power outage and the encore.
My first show! And the best one I saw live!
What a great recording. Vid is super-clean, too. Bruce on accordion!
But like I said I don’t like the accordion !

They brought the heat on Jack Straw. I got chills and tears in my eyes watching them, such a powerful performance with everybody in sync feeling it.

@@joanacosta2741 you've been missing some of the most beautiful, powerful, and fun music ever created. I'm glad you're here!
i didn;t even know that they played a show with Brent and Bruce together? Awesome thenks for posting
Glorious show. I rode the lightning bolt this day.
You and me both 😎
I got some orange micro dots from a kid in the lot, sat way up high on Brents side. Thunderstorm was wild, watching lightening strike a tree in the lot during 1st set , and a kid slide into a state trooper on the grass . It was a wild show
From where I was sitting it looked like the steal your face skull with the lightning bolt in the middle of the stage..... It was in freaking tense!!!
Jerry's got two of his favorite stage partners right beside him--Bruce and Brent... I was at this show 30 years ago! Hot, humid, stormy, fun times!
Most beautiful Brokedown I can recall.
Saw them not too long after this. After Brent passed, unfortunately.
Bruce took over for a while and that's when I saw them.
Then 4 more and two jgb shows. Then Jerry passed.
So grateful to have seen him live. What a wonderful experience everytime!
What a long strange trip it's been!!!!☮️♥️☯️
Thank you brother for defending us ann no d this great country
This was peak Grateful Dead...and they really knew how to dress so fashionably! Brett went from the new guy to the heart of the Grateful Dead.
Was a great show. There were lightening wars going on during the show. Those who were there know!
Was such a brutally hot day!
I was 12 yrs old when mom and dad packed the fam to see this show. Raise by the dead, now I rock the ded. Mmfwcl and hippie love...

My first show!
Mine too. I might have your autograph. Bought a poster this kid made. Wandered around between sets getting folks to sign it. Still have it, a little bit wrinkled from the rain. What a day it was.
i think the big river is the best one i have ever heard!!!!
My second show. What a great night!
It was my second show too!
Btw, thank you to whoever posted this with nice clear video that looks like it was shot yesterday, which is kind of like how my memory works also
Iko Iko usually isn’t a favorite of mine, but this one was really great!
