I honestly have never played Hitman, though it looks fun, but I get a huge kick out of the very convoluted glitches and techniques that people find. It also makes me wonder how certain glitches and techniques are found, especially with how some of these have no visual or audio feedback upon performing them, so it really is just... well, faith.
Congratulations on getting the WR, and thank you for an entertaining video whose only notable flaw is that it does not quite put down Miami as much as it deserves.

Imagine for me if you will, a small nightmare of mine.
It may not be something as scary as getting caught in the wrong part of Sapienza, or actually just being in Sapienza in general.
But, you know, it's still pretty terrifying.
My nightmare is a world without boosts, a world in which the diminishing state of Sappi attempts is no longer funny but terrifying.
A world in which I can't make a pretty violin skip like I normally could so easily by just throwing it out.
And these may not be the worst things in the world, and I'll admit they probably aren't.
However, boosting does a lot more than just releasing runs attempts on our streams through throwing and has a huge amount of unappreciated complexities.
With the power of boosts, we can address sensitive time loss, we can gain a better acceptance of runs. And finally and most important, I believe, is we can gain a huge amount of POGGIES into what makes other people tick.
Now, imagine a day in this nightmare for me. I wake up, see a mess on my floor and have a serious and uncomfortable awkward talk with my coworker Pablo.
Instead of just telling him that if I see one more brick on this floor, I will put everything he owns into a boat fashioned from wood, soaked in kerosene, and set it aflame off the waters in Mill Bay.
Now after this awkward encounter with my coworker, who being a new exchange agent from Mexico, just nodded along and smiled with everything I said and didn’t actually understand it. I head down to the briefing room.
I noticed a fellow agent Xander is holding a violin in his hand, and I bluntly and rudely tell him to conceal, instead of just bantering with him about the fact that he has the world’s best chair stepper in his hand.
After this I’m heading in the briefing room for mission briefing and sit down with a large group. And I, as previously stated being a Sappi attempts runner, make a few inevitable speedrun mistakes.
But without the power of boosts, I can’t come back from them, I can’t learn from them, and I may get labeled as something like Slowspecicor or a Atrioc’s raid leecher, which I’m sure you all know it doesn’t actually exist on Twitch.
This may seem poorly phrased, but boost is the speed lubricant for the invisible wall that’s going to occur. And if you can’t use boost to make up from mistakes, including missing shots, how are you gonna grow as a speedrunner? This is also pertinent for Chongquin boost.
So, after the mission briefing, I head back to my office, clean it, damn it Pablo, and pass a mandated inspection by Diana.
I then head off to my loadout block and I notice a girl I find rather attractive is sitting right beside me.
And not unlike real life, myself and pretty girls initially it’s terribly terribly slow. However in this boostless reality, I’m trapped. If I say something dumb or make a speedrun mistake, which I’m pretty apt at if you didn’t know that already, I can’t come back with it from like the power of boost.
And then the real time loss sets in that we all know and hate, a “Back to Paris” response has initiated, your time loss rises so Livesplit gets all red and sad, and you have trouble throwing propane, and then the target leaves the area, your guns get red. And the same part of your brain that’s activated when you break a bone is utilized in the terrible awkward reset that follows.
Can I make a boost off anything, even off myself to convey the admirable quality of clutching and break the reset loop?
In this set parameter of reality, the answer is unfortunately no.
See, clutching is obviously an important skill in our society. But it doesn’t just pertain not sucking for about one second, it also includes the uses of self-improvised distractions shots to accept your own flaws and check your own skill.
When people are acting in a delusional or overconfident manner, they’re often trying to make up for something they don’t feel good about. This concept is called “COPIUM”, and it’s demonstrated beautifully by all the “COPIUM” emotes in the chat.
They visually show the fact that people brag about what they’re secure about, to make up for what they aren’t. And I’ll be honest, if I couldn’t use clutching to accept my own flaws and check my own skill, I could very well be one of those people who hypocritically, and of course metaphorically, inhale COPIUM.
But besides using COPIUM for this purpose to accept yourself or to address sensitive topics, I believe the most important usage of COPIUM but ironically the most underappreciated is the insight it gives us in other people’s lives.
Many of you at this point is probably toned out because you don’t think you can get any boosts after this feature, at the very least any boost-ready looking like my colleague Xander.
However, if we simply observe the usage of COPIUM by others, just as yourselves, then we can learn a lot about somebody.
If I took you for example, to a speedrun stream, notice what you find COPIUM and what clutch you Pog at, I could learn a lot about you.
And if I took you to the death of a run and noticed you OMEGALUL while everybody else Sadged, I’ll probably extrapolate that you’re a bit of a doubter.
And if you’re anything like one of my ex-girlfriends from back home, I might notice you OMEGALUL at both and make you the reason I check the level of my COPIUM flask every time I go live.
But, in all seriousness, by simply observing the COPIUM from others, which doesn’t have to come from us, we can learn what they find Pog, what they can and cannot FeelsOkMan, and therefore what their peepos are.
I believe one of my greatest skills is being able to POGGIES with people, and often people don’t realize that I can utilize and appreciate COPIUM to find out people’s common values and find common ground.
Our culture is fluid and COPIUM can be as well, and by utilizing and/or appreciating COPIUM, we can exemplify these traits of adaptability as well.
I would ask a few more important things of you today.
Firstly, understand that I’m not asking you to try and boost yourself or boost-ready looking like Xander. I’m simply asking you to appreciate boosting when used by others and, when applicable, yourselves.
Don’t be afraid to take yourself lightly and use COPIUM humor to accept your own skill and accept your own flaws. Utilize boosts in awkward situations, or if you feel like you can’t surround yourself with people who can.
And ladies and gentlemen, realize the benefit of insight COPIUM gives us, use it, appreciate it!
Because, ladies and gentlemen, you can learn a lot and it really isn’t so bad when the OMEGALUL’s on Us.
    Thank you.

So how do you deal with the server disconnects, do you get to pause the timer when that happens or is it just something you have to live with?

    • @Aspecticor
      @Aspecticor  Рік тому +2

I think the auto-split uses the in-game timer, which automatically stops on disconnect :)

I find the logic in the game rating/conclusions funny. Like how is it an accidental death to have a gas bottle explode in the middle of a fcking Golf course?! :D
Gas bottles do explode, but the question authorities would have will be why was it there in the first place...
I am a fan of the old series, but the price tag of the new ones compared to the silly AI mechanics is just an insult to the players. I mean the older games had better AI in some of the cases.

The authorities aren't present at the time of the 'accident' kill and Agent 47 escapes before the authorities arrive

"Knocking her into the water for an accidental drowning kill" because clearly the reason she died was due to the drowning and not the half inch wide chunk of flesh and bone missing from her shoulder lol.

why on colorado do i have to get into to the shelter aster killing all 4 of my tergets?
and on hokkaido i dont get a gun of spawn

you don't have to use the basement (at least after 1st colorado run) and since hokkiado is a highly secured area (according to game) 47 cannot bring items unless level 20

How are these routes discovered? At any given point they could branch out into 50+ different paths that might be fractions of a second difference.
Do devs secretly reach out? Or is it a monkey-typwriter situation where 1000 speedrunners eventually get the route correct just because of the odds?

fairly sure its just a brute force "try everything until something sticks" kind of thing going on here- so many tools and weapons that speedrunners can use, so there is often an alternate strategy (which may or may not be viable in runs) discovered. Atrioc has a great demonstration of how different hitman speedrunners approach a task with his viewer contract challenge series, where his audience is tasked with completing a certain custom made hitman contract in the fastest time possible. the absurd level-breaking strategies that develop in those contests is nothing short of amazing. There always seems to be a faster route, it's just that someone hasn't put the pieces together of what tools to utilize yet- that, to me, is what makes hitman so exciting
