Installing a GT3 Body Kit on a '99 Porsche with 7,800 Miles!

- Our good customer Steve has tasked Fred with painting and installing a Porsche factory GT3 aero body kit on his '99 996 Carrera 2 with only 7,800 original miles. The old body panels will be removed and the new kit will be test fitted before they are painted. After the body kit is installed, the Porsche will be on display at a concourse show coming up in the next month and the body kit needs to have the paint finish match the factory paint exactly.

Fred cracking job 👏 there nice paint job Fred I have a ford focus mk3 titanium x and iam putting the original bumper on from ford it comes primed mate Fred would you blend it before the base coat paint goes on mate as the bonnet clear coat paint pealing as well
Blending is the best way to match colors. Butt matches are never easy.

Fred the keys man!!! The keys need a new home far away from the front of you're pants when your leaning over cars. The anxiety it gave me seeing those keys dangling off the front of your jeans with the fresh bumper and disassembling the original. Otherwise fantastic work guys
I always know when Fred is near because of those keys.
I can't blame him for not taking out in the rain - that's the only reason I won't buy one here in the UK, it does tend to rain every now and then.

I though it would include rear quarters. And thought dont cut it up its so clean. I thought the kit would have more parts.

If i can make a suggestion put foam padding on your posts so when you open the door they won't hit the post.I hope that helps cool car and greaat vid

Personally, I would black out the white around the headlights. Either way it's a beautiful foreign car.
Why not sir the side skirt install? Did you need to drill and didn't want to scare the owner?
I have a 99 C4 with a couple of cracks in the front bumper cover. I have alway liked the 996.2 look with the larger openings on the sides. I have seen 996.1 GT bumper cover that has the cutout for the extended front lights and am considering it. any suggestions on the various suppliers of good and poor products would be appreciated.
I will speak to the owner of this car sometime over the weekend. He is the one that researched and found the parts. I will get back to you when I have some info for you.

The OE kit from Porsche was close to 10k. That's just the kit no installation or paint.
Why put the convertible model aero spoiler on and ruin it. Should have bought the correct coupe taco wing.
