I think CMM is cute but he’s not that great. He plays a good bad guy but his portrayal of Bundy is way off. He comes off as a creep in the film. Ted was fun, likable and charming. That’s part of why he was so dangerous. And he certainly was not like that with the police. Again, he was very charming. He was like their rowdy rambunctious little brother who always had a joke to tell. Ted was one of the scariest serial killers of all time because he did not overtly act like one. He was a true wolf in sheep’s clothing.

With a story that has been glorified and recycled over and over, we Eventually become numb to the facts of the case. We know what he did but we forget how terrible it actually was. This movie did a great job showing him in a new light. It really wasn’t focusing on the romance or publicity or how our justice system failed but just the cruelness and evilness of the crimes. As someone who has seen a lot of the documentaries/movies, none of it made me feel so sick to my stomach as this movie did. After watching content that glorified Ted and tried to pull sympathy for him, it feels important that someone came out with this to really remind how grotesque this human was. That being said I think reviewers missed the point. The message and point of this movie was clear to me, no one should feel sympathy for Ted Bundy. This was a big middle finger to any person or content that was sympathized with Ted and I loved it

Many kill, y’all just focus on the “psychopaths” because they create it into their own art, at the end of the day they’re being creative and painting a picture. Clearly everyone knows what the picture is and is so interested, yet still shun because their crimes were “grotesque.” Someone had to die, so that another can be born.

So instead for others to understand him he created art with his ideas for them to understand better of his persons. Same with these killers. Y’all won’t comprehend what they do and why, so they create an art out of it, so it could be better understood. We now have people that can live in the mind of a “psychopath” to better understand the crimes they committed and why. We create art, we’re human. Who cares about the foul and grotesque things that happened with the bodies, it’s all about the creativity and art that was created. There’s beauty in it even if you don’t want to believe it. “On July 14, a dark haired man in his late 20s or early 30s was seen approaching several girls on campus.”
On July 14, 1974, he wasn’t on any campus - he was at Lake Sammamish State Park.
Interesting that it’s from the producers of “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” . It’s going to compete with that one and “Bundy: An American Icon” for the title of “Least Accurate Ted Bundy Film”.
Also, I do agree that Kathleen McChesney’s role in going after Bundy has been very much under appreciated until recently. But if this trailer is any indication, this film is going too far in the other direction and exaggerate her role. There were five detectives who deserve the most credit for Bundy’s unmasking - Jerry Thompson (Utah), Mike Fisher (Colorado), Don Patchen, Norman Chapman and Steven Bodiford (Florida).
    Update (12/24/21):
    I watched it.
This movie will NOT compete with any other Bundy movie for the title of "Least Accurate Ted Bundy Film".
This two-hour laughfest RUNS AWAY with the title (although I do credit Chad Michael Murray for an otherwise excellent performance).
Quite frankly, this film seems like it was written by a bitter, man-hating "Women's Studies" graduate during her breaks at the only job such a degree qualifies one for: burger flipper at McDonald's.
    Where to begin:
    1. Kathleen McChesney
As I said in my original post, it's about damn time Detective McChesney got her due. And she does in "Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes" and "Ted Bundy: Falling For a Killer" among other recent films and documentaries.
    But this one?
They didn't go overboard. They jumped the damn shark.
    1. McChesney did not trail Bundy around the country.
    2. She did not successfully predict Bundy's every move.
    3. She didn't work with Bob Ressler (he didn't come into the Bundy case until much, MUCH later) until she became an FBI agent.
    4. She wasn't brought into the case by a ragingly "sexist" Herb Swindler (she was brought into it from the CHECK FRAUD Division by her MALE mentor and friend Bob Keppel (where the fuck WAS Keppel in this movie, anyway?)).
    5. It was FBI profiler John Douglas, not McChesney, who coined the term "serial killer".
    6. Neither she or Ressler had ANYTHING to do with Bundy's interrogations in Utah (that was Jerry Thompson. Where was HE in this movie?) or Colorado (Mike Fisher. Again, where was HE in this movie?).
Most importantly: McChesney had NOTHING to do with Bundy's capture in Florida, and she wasn't there for his execution (nor were Ressler, Linda (often misspelled as "Lynda") Healy's mother, or Carol DaRonch).
As far as I'm concerned, rather than highlighting her, this movie turned Kathleen McChesney - a well respected, dedicated and highly skilled LEO - into a third-wave feminist "Dirty Harriet" joke. The producers owe her - as well as all of the dedicated MEN like the late Herb Swindler (he his son were viciously slandered in this movie) who, like McChesney, spent several frustrating YEARS hunting and finally capturing Bundy - an engraved apology.
    2. Florida
First, the Chi Omega SORORITY (sorority: a college fraternal organization FOR WOMEN) did NOT rent rooms to WOMEN who weren't members, let alone MEN. Bundy got a room nearby at a rooming house called "The Oaks", which has since burned down. The oak tree that gave it its name still stands, the building site is now a parking lot.
Second, Bundy blitzed-attacked the girls at Chi Omega. None of them woke up, screamed and ran around like they were in a B horror movie. Bundy took no chances (although, thankfully, two of the girls - Kathy Kleiner and Karen Chandler - as well as another who Bundy attacked a block away after being spooked into fleeing the sorority, Cheryl Thomas, survived).
Third, Kim Leach's murder occurred two weeks AFTER - not BEFORE - Chi Omega (it was for her murder, BTW, that Bundy was officially executed.)
Fourth, there was no attempted strangulation in a car committed by Bundy in Florida.
    3. I'll end it with this: The final scene at Louise Bundy's home - portrayed as involving McChesney and Ressler - was actually a meeting between Louise and Johnny Bundy (Ted's stepfather) and authors Stephen Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth ("The Only Living Witness" and its companion "Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer").
Ted's last-minute confessions (which, again, neither McChesney or Ressler were involved with - the FBI agent involved was SA Bill Hagmaier (see the excellent film "No Man of God")), with BOB KEPPEL (not McChesney) representing Washington State did NOT lead investigators to ANY bodies. The only body part found was one of Debra Kent's kneecaps. That's it. The "confessions", such as they were, were merely a final, desperate ruse on Bundy's part to escape justice.
The declaration at the beginning of the film was insufficient.
It should have read "This movie is an ENTIRELY FICTIONALIZED account."

Can't wait for his take on the JonBenét murder, only done like "Candyman" or "Phantasm".

I was emotionally involved for I lived through that. I have to say this was by far the worst movies I have ever seen on Bundy. They got so much wrong. I don't recall the female detective hearing screams and closing in and shooting him, OMG where did they get this info from? Then they had her coin the phrase Serial Killer, it was Kessler that came up with that. get your facts straight.

Ted Bundy is extra special in criminal history, He had that stereotyped personality with charismatic, charming ,skillful, well spoken quality, and his behavior patterns and double life never exposed in these movies to the point.
And any actor on earth can't ever resemble real Ted Bundy i guess. He was way better than all ppl and unique. Don't get me wrong i'm not glorifying but it's true fact!!!!
