I think it’s a loosing battle with them. There both toxic to one another in different ways. Tessa is controlling and wants everything to be here way. While Hardin is the same way controlling and wants everything to go his way, Tessa forces Hardin to get a relationship with his father when he clearly doesn’t want one and when she gets told why he doesn’t she doesn’t feel bad for forcing him she feels like she can’t look at his father the same and says he changed. I hate that when someone says they changed as why they should get a relationship. Hardin gets maps and angry easily but Tessa also does antagonize him so much, he wants to keep Tessa out of the party she goes to the party. She does the oppisite of what he said to do and then is like hey are you mad. She knows why and still asks. Hardin is very possessive over Tessa but I’m some way he isn’t. Tessa is nice to everyone which half the times she is literally flirting with the other person. But at the end of the day the movies aren’t like the books and there both toxic.
Y'all should read all 5 books maybe your perspective might change. I'm into this type of "FICTIONAL" novels so the toxicities of the storyline didn't bother me, then again like I said I like this type of FICTION. I understand people are in toxic relationships like this, I know better than most because I have been but this story isn't real. Why be so judgmental about a fictional story it's just stupid. If it isn't your thing then fine but you might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome of book 4 & 5, I know I was. It was the ending I'd hoped for in my own life. I believe the whole reason behind why Anna wrote their relationship like this is to bring more attention to the fact that not all relationships are always happy, constant, and stable all the time , so it was to bring awareness to the fact that all relationships can go through different hardships.
I'm a fan of these books but i will never defend toxic relationships. We shouldn't romanticize emotional abuse like we all know but i will defend the statement how these books inspire negativity. Because i don't think it's true. Hardin from a toxic person became a mental health advocate. From someone who had mental issues he became someone who helps others. That's a positive thing to me and important to state because that means there's hope even for someone like Hardin.
This is the Hardin I’ve been waiting for. I know without Zed and Hardins old crew it’s not all going to be the same but this is one of my favorite books in the series and they better show the important things. ❤️

Steph and Molly played a big role in a part in this book too but I’m not gonna say it for anyone who still wants to read the books. I have a feeling they are gonna leave it out of the movie. Pretty sure the crew is only needed for that messed up scene regarding Tessa. Zed is in all the books. Not making Zeds character work was one of the biggest mistakes they made.

Agreed. The 1st movie had a bit more depth to it than the 2nd, plot wise, but the 2nd movie was more like the books than the 1st. Both films did not impress me. I had high hopes for the 2nd one as this was the “are you ready” turning point for the new era, new cast, new clothes, new “sexual” plot etc, but it was a let down with no actual developing storyline. THIS film, THIS director, really seems to know what she is doing! It already shows!
This is Book Hardin. This is what the fans have been begging for from Day 1. Finding a balance between the Steamy and the softness. If you still doubt Castille Landon I don't know what's gonna change your mind. This was the best trailer we've gotten so far for all these movies. Loved seeing Stephen Moyer, Louise Lombard, Chance, Carter, Angela Sari(Lilian. Look in the background of the scene where Robert/Carter walks to the table.) Of course our bbys Jo and Hero are coming to slay as always. Bring on September 30th for the US cuz no matter what we're not gonna be ready no matter how many warnings we get. This looks easily to be the best of the franchise. This looks Forking Great. The cinematography, The costumes. Everything. We're not ready.

i'm not a fan of the book, or the movie. i genuinely find them mediocre. (i only read the first book and saw the first movie). but to be fair, i don't think it's necessarily bad to portray toxic relationships for entertainment's sake, it's okay if it's fiction and we recognize that in real life this is wrong. (i do wish they'd make it more clear for the impressionable young audience though).
It’s not celebrating it. It’s showing the realities of it. They literally both know it’s toxic, but it’s that toxicity that causes them to keep trying because they love each other. It’s important to show that in film because it’s even worse to pretend that all relationships are healthy
I think they are primarily terrible communicators. Instead of just saying what they think and feel they drink, lash out, self sabotage, give the silent treatment, run out,etc. A lot of it is caused by Hardins child hood trauma. He’s so afraid of getting hurt again and failing that he ruins things before anyone has a chance to hurt him, but ultimately he’s creating a self fulfilling prophecy. Childhood attachment and trauma issues are heartbreaking. It’s the fight or flight response.
Its more of a reveal of how modern society sees relationships. Marriage. And their own definition of love. As well as exposing how many of us are raised. How we deal with those situations. I was raised in a single parent household but not by my parent's choice. (Mom passed away) But I can sympathize with the difficulty in only seeing one half of the love story. And only hearing about the other from other's point of view. Many children are raised with single parents. And as much as this is going to get an uproar. Its true. The divorce rate has skyrocketed immensely. It doesn't mean those children won't find love or don't know love. But its harder when you dont have a early on understanding of what it takes to make a relationship work. And what a healthy relationship is. The very definition of love is an act of the will. Meaning to sacrifice. To lay down your life for your love because they are infact not just a lover. But because they are your best friend. Everyone comes to it differently. And me being an optimist at times. I hope everyone does eventually. This movie has a deeper side to it, if one looks through a magnifying glass.
Harden and Tessa have changed a lot since first movie, they both have grow as individuals and as a couple but sometimes it feels like they going backwards instead of forward Hardan needs to trust her and Tessa needs to figure out either she wants to be with Harden or not 'Cause it's seems like one minute she wants to be with Hardan and the next she grows further and further away from Hardan which actually kinda his fault 'Cause I mentioned already, trust is everything in a relationship with no trust relationships just falling apart. I really love Hardan and Tessa I want them to be together since first movie but sometimes it's feels like what they have is just fan with passion which is not a bad thing but passion is not everything you can have passion but no love or love But no passion but some people have both and sometimes it's feels like they do have both and sometimes not really. But I can see that Hardan loves Tessa and he becoming a better person which second movie showed us but he needs to be better because He wants to be and not because of Tessa or for Tessa. And obviously that Hardan not really had the best role model what a good man looks like or a good relationships but he needs to try and Tessa needs to be better and not flirt with every man she sees that How she changed in first movie she would never be like way she is now which is good she is who she always was or who she wants to be. Any way the point I trying to make is that Hardan and Tessa need to be better they need to do better if they want this relationship move forward and not backward. I really love them and I know this is a book but I really hope they will figure things out and they will be together. But Sometimes I think that maybe Tessa needs sometime of to figure out what or who she wants.

The books are so good (even though it romanticises toxic relationships and toxic personalities), I found the books really intriguing but the cast, the frequent changes in the directors and storylines, everything is such a mush. I wish they had made a Netflix series of 4 seasons with better cast that could actually act and give the audience the experience of the very same emotions that they felt while reading the books for the first time.

I had high hopes for the 2nd one as this was the “are you ready” turning point for the new era, new cast, new clothes, new “sexual” plot etc, but it was a let down with no actual developing storyline. THIS film, THIS director, really seems to know what she is doing! It already shows!
This is Book Hardin. This is what the fans have been begging for from Day 1. Finding a balance between the Steamy and the softness. If you still doubt Castille Landon I don't know what's gonna change your mind. This was the best trailer we've gotten so far for all these movies. Loved seeing Stephen Moyer, Louise Lombard, Chance, Carter, Angela Sari(Lilian. Look in the background of the scene where Robert/Carter walks to the table.) Of course our bbys Jo and Hero are coming to slay as always. Bring on September 30th for the US cuz no matter what we're not gonna be ready no matter how many warnings we get. This looks easily to be the best of the franchise. This looks Forking Great. The cinematography, The costumes. Everything. We're not ready.

It amazes me how Hollywood is so proud in celebrating "Toxic Relationship"
i'm not a fan of the book, or the movie. i genuinely find them mediocre. (i only read the first book and saw the first movie). but to be fair, i don't think it's necessarily bad to portray toxic relationships for entertainment's sake, it's okay if it's fiction and we recognize that in real life this is wrong. (i do wish they'd make it more clear for the impressionable young audience though).
It’s not celebrating it. It’s showing the realities of it. They literally both know it’s toxic, but it’s that toxicity that causes them to keep trying because they love each other. It’s important to show that in film because it’s even worse to pretend that all relationships are healthy
I think they are primarily terrible communicators. Instead of just saying what they think and feel they drink, lash out, self sabotage, give the silent treatment, run out,etc. A lot of it is caused by Hardins child hood trauma. He’s so afraid of getting hurt again and failing that he ruins things before anyone has a chance to hurt him, but ultimately he’s creating a self fulfilling prophecy. Childhood attachment and trauma issues are heartbreaking. It’s the fight or flight response.

Its more of a reveal of how modern society sees relationships. Marriage. And their own definition of love. As well as exposing how many of us are raised. How we deal with those situations. I was raised in a single parent household but not by my parent's choice. (Mom passed away) But I can sympathize with the difficulty in only seeing one half of the love story. And only hearing about the other from other's point of view. Many children are raised with single parents. And as much as this is going to get an uproar. Its true. The divorce rate has skyrocketed immensely. It doesn't mean those children won't find love or don't know love. But its harder when you dont have a early on understanding of what it takes to make a relationship work. And what a healthy relationship is. The very definition of love is an act of the will. Meaning to sacrifice. To lay down your life for your love because they are infact not just a lover. But because they are your best friend. Everyone comes to it differently. And me being an optimist at times. I hope everyone does eventually. This movie has a deeper side to it, if one looks through a magnifying glass.

Harden and Tessa have changed a lot since first movie, they both have grow as individuals and as a couple but sometimes it feels like they going backwards instead of forward Hardan needs to trust her and Tessa needs to figure out either she wants to be with Harden or not 'Cause it's seems like one minute she wants to be with Hardan and the next she grows further and further away from Hardan which actually kinda his fault 'Cause I mentioned already, trust is everything in a relationship with no trust relationships just falling apart. I really love Hardan and Tessa I want them to be together since first movie but sometimes it's feels like what they have is just fan with passion which is not a bad thing but passion is not everything you can have passion but no love or love But no passion but some people have both and sometimes it's feels like they do have both and sometimes not really. But I can see that Hardan loves Tessa and he becoming a better person which second movie showed us but he needs to be better because He wants to be and not because of Tessa or for Tessa. And obviously that Hardan not really had the best role model what a good man looks like or a good relationships but he needs to try and Tessa needs to be better and not flirt with every man she sees that How she changed in first movie she would never be like way she is now which is good she is who she always was or who she wants to be. Any way the point I trying to make is that Hardan and Tessa need to be better they need to do better if they want this relationship move forward and not backward. I really love them and I know this is a book but I really hope they will figure things out and they will be together. But Sometimes I think that maybe Tessa needs sometime of to figure out what or who she wants.

Hero (although he's very hot and handsome), he doesn't bring the character of Hardin to life and Josephine as Tessa is so boring. They both really don't know how to act. The books are so good (even though it romanticises toxic relationships and toxic personalities), I found the books really intriguing but the cast, the frequent changes in the directors and storylines, everything is such a mush. I wish they had made a Netflix series of 4 seasons with better cast that could actually act and give the audience the experience of the very same emotions that they felt while reading the books for the first time.
