Im happy to see more people begin to realize how much of a disgrace Schefter is to the sports media profession. As a packers fan, I am a bit too familiar with him than I would like to be, and it gives me great joy to see him being called on his bs. It also gives me a bit of cause for concern that ESPN is tolerating his behavior, which sets a bit of a dangerous precedent for the future of sports journalism moving forward. To me Adam essentially is wanting to protect the league at all costs instead of being an unbiased journalist. The entire landscape of journalism worldwide has been tarnished so much in the past few years that many don't respect the trade and Adam shows how so many sports have tried to become the modern day TMZ to break news first and such. I understand wanting to be the first to a story and journalism school teaches many that not only if it bleeds it reads but getting a story out first matters so much. He's to me a guy who reminds me of a person like Jen Pshaki with the kind of heat that his actions has brought himself. The NFL has struggled so much with conduct for their players to owners while hoping his like Adam can make noise in other spots to get people not to notice the real issues. Its another reason why so many don't respect sports anymore because of the soulless nonsense we've seen from players to breaking stories without merit. Adam has done so many bad things yet he's given more passes than so many and I don't understand why however let's not forget the NFL is in the entertainment business not essentially sports at first so guys like Adam is a showman first then journalist. But again another reason why so many have walked away from sports as fans and such. I would like to see Adam to have to eat his words but also I think again it shows how low the NFL has gotten in the past few years. Its sad but again this is the NFL and ESPN (Disney owned) so what credible or respected views do they really have in the first place?
Honestly though we need to hold all media outlets more accountable. They all do CNN, Fox and etc. Its like nothing is truly neutral with nothing but the facts , no agenda tied to it.
He's the type of guy to just keep going regardless of the what he's told or asked. He said it himself, it's an addiction. He HAS to be the first one to break the story and doesnt care who it hurts or how it's received. In his mind it's all about him cause he's been rewarded for doing so. The way he broke the Brady retirement news that forced him to "fake" retire as well as the Haskin's tragedy was just insane.
When I was in college I was in a few journalism classes. Back then the biggest rule to always remember was: "It's far more important to get the story right than it is to get the story first." Guess that isn't the same rule people follow these days...
A lack of indictment absolutely implies innocence. Because in this country we are all presumed innocent until proven guilty through the proper court of law. Anything anybody else says contrary to that is fallacy.
ESPN chooses to ignore his mistakes because his knowledge is more valuable to them than his slip-ups. Glad you made this as a form of accountability. It's important to recognize how easy it is for someone with a massive social media following to shape perception of sensitive topics.
Hey man keep up the good work. I’ve really enjoyed your last two videos. I know it’s been a while since you last posted but keep working man - your content is great!
Please don’t think I’m on Watson side on this one, absolutely not. I do have to make a point in the phrase “a lack of indictment doesn’t mean he’s innocent.” That happens to be exactly what that means, because in the American Legal system everyone is innocent until proven Guilty. No one is ever found innocent, they are found “not guilty.”
The reason ESPN hangs onto him is because he has dozens of the best connections for hearing news first in the NFL. ESPN is struggling enough as it is with their best voices leaving for FOX. They won't get rid of Adam unless he does something beyond forgivable.
Incredible commentary on how sports media needs to show more humility, at the end of the day athletes are still people and deserve the same respect and privacy as anyone else!
I don’t think Colts fans would have reacted so poorly if Andrew had been allowed to control the narrative from the beginning. Many of us understood why he was retiring, but Schefter breaking the news before the Colts scheduled a news conference shocked everyone. I also think Irsay and Ballard hoped the could talk him out of it. Fans booing sealed the deal.
omg I'm subscribing, this was so awesome! you took the words right out of my mouth about Schefter. Not a fan of the guy by any means, it's one thing to be the first to report, but there's a way to do it. I like the reporters that CHOOSE to be classy.
This was such a thorough look at Adam Schefter and reporting in general. I'm a full-time reporter and I can't tell you how many times me or other reporters have made some of these same mistakes and were obviously embarrassed by it. Hopefully he changes, but something tells me it'll take something drastic like more lawsuits or personal fines for that to happen. He's still great at his job, but sometimes, as you pointed out being a good human being runs contrary to being the fastest reporter to leak info
He reminds me of the episodes of The Simpson’s, where Bart would phone Moe’s Tavern and get him (Moe) to ask and shout out random stupid names out to his customers and he’d say it without thinking. Well, to me, Moe is Schefter; he literally tweets anything, without appearing to think about what he’s posting, or if it’s the right thing to post (informatively and morally).
The thing that makes me the most frustrated is there's never any correction. People still use the Rodgers Draft Day news against him in arguments, even thought it was proven to be made up by Shifty.
No reporter should EVER say “a lack of indictment doesn’t mean innocence” That is editorializing. An accusation already Carries weight with a lot of people. False accusations are virtually impossible to escape. We don’t need a “we don’t know it isn’t true”. People lie all the time. Don’t talk about what “we don’t know” Stick to what you actually know.
I agree Schefter is incredibly wreckless & unprofessional, but it's equally as wreckless to start with with an assumption of guilt in the Deshaun Watson situation. He doesn't need to be exonerated, because an individual is innocent until proven guilty. The entire framing around the criminal justice system sucks & it's a far bigger problem than anything a D-bag like Schefter can do. I don't particularly like Deshaun Watson, Schefter, or ESPN, but I don't like the perception of needing to be proven innocent, or "exonerated", wayyy more. Smh.
He should have also mentioned how much of a failure he was at not walking into a highway and getting hit by a truck, something which is pretty darn easy to avoid, especially when you're a millionaire.
Woj is somewhat the same way when it comes to the NBA. He’s so hell bent on being the first to drop his “Woj bombs”. A good example is the Lakers firing of Frank Vogel. With how the lakers season went, there was a good chance the lakers would be moving on from Vogel in the offseason. Going on a more than likely to happen outcome, Woj capitalized on that probability to be the first one to report it even if it hasn’t yet been decided. The reason he does that is because if he’s right, a Woj bomb dropped of a coach firing before a game is even concluded is celebrated as exceptional reporting. He’s never called out for a take that is incorrect. Nobody ever remembers that Woj actually reported Kawhi choosing the Lakers right before surprising everyone by signing with the Clippers later the same day. Correct takes equals brilliance, wrong takes equals 🤷🏽♂️ on to the next take.. That’s sports journalism for you.
Schefters the kind of friend who would go after a girl you just broke up with.

shame you weren't questioning any of that before the redskins leaks
@@SFTaYZa Not everyone can be such an awesome human being as you
Great video, well spoken.
The Brady retirement was clearly a negotiation tactic to force the owners to get rid of Arians so he gets a pass for getting that one wrong
I was just thinking about how you haven't posted in a while. Good to see a new video
Great to have you back Sir.
Honestly though we need to hold all media outlets more accountable. They all do CNN, Fox and etc. Its like nothing is truly neutral with nothing but the facts , no agenda tied to it.
Which is what happens when the people covering the sport are bought and paid by the ownership class in thew dynamic
Back then the biggest rule to always remember was: "It's far more important to get the story right than it is to get the story first."
Guess that isn't the same rule people follow these days...
I really wish they would reinstate the law making it illegal for any news format to report things that aren't true.
@@BeboRulz I wish people would respect the law of "Innocent until proven guilty"
We're in america, not japan.
I thought this channel was dead with no posts lately. Glad it’s still kicking!
Thank you for calling out his Aaron Rodgers lies; everytime I’ve brought it up on Twitter people have denied his wrongdoing.
This is by far the best football UA-cam channel
ESPN is going to be among the first of "Legacy Media" to go belly-up IMO.
another top notch video! Set the Edge is setting the standard!
FINALLY a schefter vid
It’s about damn time
Another banger
A lack of indictment absolutely implies innocence. Because in this country we are all presumed innocent until proven guilty through the proper court of law. Anything anybody else says contrary to that is fallacy.
Preach it brother
There's a difference between legal innocence and factual innocence. Oftentimes they overlap but sometimes they don't.
Well done sir. Thank you for doing this.
He definitely seems like more of an NFL PR guy and he does a journalist/analyst.
Great media critique! A media landscape where sensationalism and quickness is the name of the game, Adam Shefter is the Dealer of Information.
Yeah, that Haskins thing was so out of bounds. I wouldn’t say I’m out on Schefter, but it definitely changed my perception of him a bit
What a pest
Already out with him admitting to make up the Rodgers drama last year.
ESPN chooses to ignore his mistakes because his knowledge is more valuable to them than his slip-ups. Glad you made this as a form of accountability. It's important to recognize how easy it is for someone with a massive social media following to shape perception of sensitive topics.
Who's here after Schefter did it again by breaking Jason Kelce's retirement 🤦♂
Hey man keep up the good work. I’ve really enjoyed your last two videos. I know it’s been a while since you last posted but keep working man - your content is great!
Please don’t think I’m on Watson side on this one, absolutely not. I do have to make a point in the phrase “a lack of indictment doesn’t mean he’s innocent.” That happens to be exactly what that means, because in the American Legal system everyone is innocent until proven Guilty. No one is ever found innocent, they are found “not guilty.”
Great to see a video from you. I hope everything is going well in your life, been missing your videos.
The reason ESPN hangs onto him is because he has dozens of the best connections for hearing news first in the NFL. ESPN is struggling enough as it is with their best voices leaving for FOX. They won't get rid of Adam unless he does something beyond forgivable.
So glad to see another video! Missed you bro
The way he reported Haskins death was absolutely disgraceful
Incredible commentary on how sports media needs to show more humility, at the end of the day athletes are still people and deserve the same respect and privacy as anyone else!
It feels like a lifetime since set the edge dropped.
Sportswriter here. Thanks for making this. Important to show the difference between journalism and…this.
8:52 I will forever hate what Schefter and the Colts fans in the crowd that day did to Andrew. Never deserved to be sent off like that.
Thanks for making this video, needed to be said and viewed as an “accumulation of information” on Shefturd
As long as millions of people keep following him, he'll keep getting paid.
omg I'm subscribing, this was so awesome! you took the words right out of my mouth about Schefter. Not a fan of the guy by any means, it's one thing to be the first to report, but there's a way to do it. I like the reporters that CHOOSE to be classy.
Adam Schefter is the type of guy who answers the phone with “hey you”
This was such a thorough look at Adam Schefter and reporting in general.
Shefter works for espn, why are you holding him to actual journalistsic standards?
Exactly, they’ve long since become entertainment-not news
Yessir, thank you! I mean THANK YOU for this video!
Thanks for this video I didn't know I needed
Just like athletes, you can have incredible skill and work ethics but character and growth can be lacking
Damn its so good to see one of your vids again. Don't leave bro
Him and Mel Kiper are my least favorite part of watching the NFL. Great breakdown video!
Adam “don’t touch me my dad will sue” Schefter
High quality video. Great job.
That’s why I follow Ian Rapoport.
😂😂😂. Ahh that shit is funny lmaoo
Ayyye nice video, and playing Veridis Quo (Daft Punk's top 3-5 songs) near the end is a vibe
Mr Editor isn’t gonna like this video
Video is so well made I love it
The thing that makes me the most frustrated is there's never any correction. People still use the Rodgers Draft Day news against him in arguments, even thought it was proven to be made up by Shifty.
Using veridis quo as the background for your synopsis, such a great choice. Once again a great video.
Great video...
The breakdown was on 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
I agree Schefter is incredibly wreckless & unprofessional, but it's equally as wreckless to start with with an assumption of guilt in the Deshaun Watson situation. Smh.
Preach. Innocent until proven guilry, civil court dont matter in this matter as they should be thrown out after... no charges
Watson isn’t innocent he just had enough money to escape
It’s been so long, glad this man is back
As an Adam myself, why can’t there ever be a good Adam talked about on this channel? (Also random note, ironically I’m an Adam G).
Well done. Great video
Yeah, once he mentioned how much of a failure Haskins was DURING A TWEET REPORTING HE FUCKING DIED, I gave up. Dude has always been slimy but JESUS.
He should have also mentioned how much of a failure he was at not walking into a highway and getting hit by a truck, something which is pretty darn easy to avoid, especially when you're a millionaire.
@@FuckUA-camAndGoogle careful bro, that edginess is dangerous. 🤦♂️.
@@CronoXpono lmao
Amazing video man.
