What Aaron said yesterday - that his answer to an odd question being mis-quoted & then used in court - would be only the beginning if they release all the e-mails. Every single lawsuit brought by anyone for anything involving the NFL, any players, any owners, etc would be opened back up if they were to do so. As an IT guy, I can tell you that there is WAY too much confidential information relayed via e-mail for them to do that. Even if they redact them, you'll have people screaming about what's been redacted.
Schefty has no god damn culpability here. If anything, “Mr. Editor” is a passive-aggressive dagger at Bruce from Schefter for demanding to see the whole story and making him compromise. Involving Schefter here, based on what we currently know, is idiotic.
I've been studying journalism for four years. One of the first things we learn is not to send information back to sources for approval. I’ll even take Tom Pelissaro over Shefter
Honestly, these people's emails are none of our fuckin business
This ain’t gonna go well for the NFL
@5:07 YES AJ!!! Why isn’t this asked more widely across media for sports, news, media, politics, entertainment etc.
The Gruden and Schefter emails are going to seem really silly and petty when we get to the WFT emails about the Costa Rica cheerleader sex trafficking party. When is that finally coming?
Well that escalated quickly...
Yep
@@xthaking Well it's been known but NFL isn't looking into that issue
No way. LGBTQ people are more important than that. We gotta make sure they don’t get “offended” 🤦♂️
@@smokeyjoe127 don't be that guy. It's easy to prove grudensaid from a email. It's an instant win equivalent of guy walking into police station and giving himself up. An investigation into sex trafficking requires witnesses, statements and evidence. It's a lot longer to gather evidence. As for gruden, sounds like he offended everyone to make his job untenable. He outed himself as a racist and homophobe and sexist AH.
His integrity was underfire when he made up the Roger's story on draft weekend
Agree
His little golden boy image has certainly take a hit over the last year.
for sure
Put all your text emails, comments. I’m sure you’ll understand
Especially after his Aaron Rodgers reporting on Draft Day
My respect for him has gone up. We all talk that way with our boys in private convos.
Started for me when he started being a prick towards Shannon Sharpe for breaking the Julio trade situation
Real “journalism” wouldn’t have gotten Schefter where he is now
It’s almost like people have flaws and are human
Amen! Preach funny all these people acting self righteous like they don’t have closets full of stuff….
Leaked Lucks retirement before his last game was when I lost all my respect for Adam.
In the middle of the preseason game. My god shoulda let him be till game was over. Wasn't that crucial.
Shefter always did seem a little dirt-baggy to me.
Journalistic Integrity has been an oxymoron for at least the last 30 years.
I didn't know that Shefter still had journalistic integrity.
Underrated comment
My thoughts exactly
Damn right a couple slurs are worse than a couple fingers!
-Urban Meyer, probably
Pat McAfee is the only one with credibility now.
The idea of calling this a “scandal” is beyond idiotic and yet so normalized in our modern times. Using derogatory language in a private email to someone cannot be considered a scandal by any means. Morally degrading sure, but not a scandal
If this is a scandal then what did Dementia Joe just do in Afghanistan? There are still hundreds of abandoned Americans there and his fucked up state department won't rescue them, and neither will they allow ex-SEALS rescue them. And we're taking our definitions for the word scandal from them? The scariest part is how many sheep really think this is a scandal.
How high up does it have to be for it to be a scandal? Cause a few years ago I remember Clinton got dragged over emails and it was framed as a scandal.
@@zeppelinmexicano
Stop it. There are hundreds of Americans still in Afghanistan because they want to stay there. Many have taken local wives and
have families who would be totally out of place in the USA. Many others have local friends they don't want to abandon. Still,
others don't want to give up reforming Afghan society. This is still a free country. People were advised to get out and chose
to stay. You can't force people to leave if they don't want to leave.
@@diypictures Uhhh yeah. Emails containing classified government information shared over an insecure personal network IS a scandal. Having a personal conversation where you’re using mean words IS NOT a scandal.
@@korlu01 Yes, you actually made that clear but you didn't answer the question. If they are no examples a hypothetical is fine, was just wondering.
AJ smoking a cigar all the time is the most metal thing I see daily
If you say that's metal you are cringey af bro
Wow, then you live a very sheltered and boring life
Metal heads love cigars
This whole thing is stupid. Gruden shouldn’t feel bad, shouldn’t have had to be put in the position to resign
Pretty sure the last thing a sports writer would call his actual editor is “Mr. Editor”
Pretty sure the tone of irony being displayed in that email is obvious, he probably calls him that because Allen is always wanted to edit emails
@@michaeltribbet9213 that was my point
I hope with all of this happening, journalism goes back to what it was.
Put out all the emails that run through NFL servers & the League would fold haha.
I find the Adam situation really funny bc Adam was on nfl live and reported about the job gruden emails
Fire Adam
Another person who wants somebody fired. How original
@@Eagles2020 why so grumpy
How many people are gonna go down before they get to Snyder?? This feels like watergate for the NFL. How many coaches, journalists are gonna play the part of Whitehouse aides and staffers until Dan “tricky dicky Nixon” Snyder falls
Wait the guy who had breaking news which turned out to be nothing about Rodgers on draft day has a narrative to push. Ever since that day I've seen him as wanting to just have his face be out there.
Love the show Pat. The follow-up question I haven’t heard asked yet is how different was the article Shefty published in comparison to the one he submitted to Bruce Allen.
Those differences are key to understanding the perceived vs the actual influence Allen may have had on Shefty’s reporting as a whole.
This is an interesting talk. Pat is about to make sure justice is served.

The pick and choose thing has made the most sense for me the entire time crazy. As soon as they mentioned bruce allen I thought about how we hadn’t heard anything on that in quite awhile.
It should’ve been called out this past off season !! He’s the one that started the Aaron Rogers drama this off-season. He even admitted he didn’t have a source and created the idea of Rogers vs Mngmt story. 🙄
I'm shocked, this is my shocked face😐
Matt taibbi , Glenn greenwald, Arron mate and a few others are the only journalists worthy of that title these days.
Horse shhhiiiiiiteee. Greenwald hasn’t been a journalist for years. He’s a hyperbolic, childish, score-settling editorialist/evangelist. One of the saddest arcs of any modern great (former) journalist. I think you confuse “journalist” with someone with a big platform that you agree with
I am legit shocked that I'm not alone in the "watches Pat McAfee while also following Taibbi, Greenwald, and Mate" boat. I would venture to guess that the overwhelming majority of the viewers of this show have no clue who any of those three are.
If Shefter showed any type of integrity in the past than people would let this go
Can you imagine how much power George Allen must have had before the Internet …. WOW !!!
People actually thought this guy was totally legit and wasn't a complete scum bag journalist.
"The accumulation of information situation" .. 👍 👌
SELL THE LEAGUE!
To Vince McMahon
I literally don’t watch ESPN anymore… shoot I quit watching ESPN a few years back. But now I have a sports show to watch again!
Schefter makes the news about himself. Let’s not forget the stunt he pulled before the draft about Aaron Rodgers wanting out
I've been studying journalism for four years. One of the first things we learn is not to send information back to sources for approval. Unless you are clarifying to ensure a quote is accurate, whatever is on record can and will be used by the reporter. If this report is true Schefter should be fired immediately. Actions like this make all reporters look bad, and that's the last thing reporters need right now.
let just hope it destroys espn and take out goodell...lets go brandon....
Urban Meyer is truly in great spirits right now 🤣
Lost a lot of respect for him after the Aaron Rodgers draft day thing
i must be the only one who doesn’t know about this; what exactly did he say??
@@romangarcia608 He said on draft day that sources told him that Aaron Rodgers wanted a trade. If later came out that he had no sources and that he was just guessing. Pat did a video on it. If you type in some combo of Pat Mcafee, Adam Schefter, and Aaron Rodgers it should come up
