As much as I love Nirvana I have to agree with you on that one. He should’ve at least met Axl especially if Axl loved their music. He complimented them and he was met with nothing but unprecedented insults. There’s no need to be rude to someone just because they don’t agree with you and music is meant to bring people together not for bands to act childish like this.

Bought first guns when it came out in 87’ bought bleach in 90’. I loved those bands. They both saved rock and roll. Guns was street rock. They scared radio until sweet child was pushed. College radio would play guns as alternative rock - college rock because they were underground. I first heard welcome to the jungle on college radio. Because they didn’t get any play on rock radio when that album came. out. Guns opened things up for grunge. So did Janes addiction

Regardless of his methods and messaging, I'm glad Nirvana never toured under GnR.
As a fan, I always prefer to see the band I like most, last.
Faith No More, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana, are 3 of my favorite bands ever. The first 2 got buried for years under headliners like GnR and Metallica for crowds that were hostile to their very existence.
While Nirvana got to headline for crowds that were there to see them, while promoting opening acts that they liked and got along with.
