_I CANT STOP LISTENING!_
This video is my Roman Empire
Anyone else watch this almost daily?
110%
Yes brings me peace
111%
Me. High school art teacher. My students always ask me to put it on for them
This is the new Stop Making Sense.
I'm still here for this. Every time I have a new favorite thing - the way the drummers find the off-beat rhythms together, the solos and the harmonies, the way some songs breath and others maximize and fill every space. The dancing, the tears, the silk suits and the bare feet. Thank you all for each note, it still carries me.
me too! I play this through while I work over and over - it has a happy vibe, and the quality of every moment is brilliant. Still finding magical and new gems like the increasing pressure on the percussion at 23:53 - it's always something.
I watch this five times a day.
Not at that level but at least once a week.
Same
At least twice a day haha
4 times yesterday, twice today
THOSE ARE ROOKIE NUMBERS!!
❤❤❤🥰
That drummer is a beast though!
PPPfffffthe fuckin band is crazy.... Drums, is insane. honestly wtf... saxophone is ON THE FUCKIN POINT... Back VOCals are like PERFECt! and there's the actual band Amelia and Nick ... the best fuckin thing.... feeling every bit of that magical moment!
Whoa. By accident put Ferris wheel on .75 speed and not mad at at lol. I’ve watched this 7 times already. Please don’t stop.
This is what total commitment sounds like.
Mind officially blown.
Sylvan Esso could make robot shed tears anyday.
After every song I scroll down to click like then remember it's still the same video that I already liked.
isn't music the most magical thing
Fr.
Hi Sylvan Esso ~ i used to work for the military and have PTSD. I just wanted to thank you for having such lovely songs. Its helped me cry and release some stuff... Your songs have given me great comfort thank you. Have a good year ahead, all the best, Kieron UK. ~ ~ ~ much love
I've listen and watched the like honestly like 50 times. It's such a masterpiece. Thank you to all.
"I'll just watch one more track, then I'll go back to work.."
You know the feeling when you climb atop a mountain on a grey day and see a ray of sunlight piercing through the clouds lighting up a patch of the valley in front? That s how their music makes me feel
So glad the secret service were able to spare an agent for back-up vocals.
I tried not to laugh, but I laughed. 10/10 joke, nice job.
Fell in love most momentarily.
That was near slander on the queen known as Daughter of Swords, but funny enough we'll have to let it slide
I kept thinking, "either Amelia is feeling cold or Alexandra must be feeling really hot"
She could be blind?
the Mountain Man synergy is truly UNBEATABLE
this is a FACT
I had to blink twice! I am so friggen happy they are all singing together again on this.
I love that the Mountain Man ladies are in this.
Meg Duffy is nothing short of divine perfection. That Rewind solo is out of this world.
When one of the first people you see is Jenn Wasner, you know things are going to be top shelf.
This. She has talent in every cell, unbelievable. They all do.
I have been watching this at least twice a month, since its inception.
I hope, artistically (in the future) you return to a format like this.
Love Sylvan Esso... Just a fan sayung more fan stuff, i guess. Peace
The guitar solo in the second last song makes me cry evertime. I never cry. Thank you.
I regret that I have only one like to give... so amazing
It’s like watching a delicate spiderweb being constructed. All these elegant little strands being weaved together to make something strong and beautiful. So inspiring.
So eloquently put. Couldn't agree more. Beauty takes on a lot of shapes. But this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed.
THIS 100!
I keep watching and 5-second backing to soak in the synthesis of everyone's unique contributions.
in the level of collective musicianship, song crafting and sound engineering, this reminds me of the Silkroad Ensemble. wonderful, over and over and over again.
This video has seemingly followed me around UA-cam for months. I've regularly seen it in my suggestions but had no idea who Sylvan Esso was so I never clicked it. A couple weeks ago I rediscovered the band Wye Oak, which led me to the band Flock of Dimes with Jenn Wasner from Wye Oak, which led me to the band Mountain Man with Molly, Amelia, and Alexandra who sing with Flock of Dimes, which led me to a Tiny Desk concert with Sylvan Esso, which made this video pop up in my suggestions once again. Sorry UA-cam, next time i'll just trust you.
Similar story here!
Sylvan Esso is like an old friend, that always makes you smile, even those days when you don't want to get out of bed. I fucking LOVE you!♥
damn thats a lot of heavy hitters in one room
Right! One silver lining of the pandemic, as Nick says, that they could actually get everyone together. It's an incredible group and combination of characters and talents.
i like the bra too. lol
It seems very unfair that one woman can have that voice, that face, and fill out that bra. The weird thing is, I'm a cis male and I'm not supposed to be jealous or catty about this, but I feel my claws coming out. That bitch!

@@andrewking071 dress is from their 1st album, "Sylvan Esso"
rewind is from the second one "What Now"
I would have SO loved another rendition of Die Young in here too. But it was all amazing anyway.
@@FrancisBarton Have you seen this? ua-cam.com/video/OvW2a7mcVG0/v-deo.html
@@singingzoo yeah I have - but thank you! I love every second of it.
Would have been interested in how this slightly different band make-up and the energy on that day would have interpreted it. But it's an older song, and they were focusing more on the newer albums I know.
Jen Wasner on bass with the Mountain man crew! Molly's last record is one of my all time favorites. Wye Oak is another favorite band of mine, This is just beyond amazing!
When you're on the fourth successive replay (rewind?) you realise life has become that little bit more complete. Thank you.
The last few seconds of the last song, you can see Jenn on the piano, and the tears leaking through. Beautifully emotional performance. Brilliant.
Would love to see a festival lineup with Bon Iver, Kevin Morby, War on Drugs, Mountain Man, and Sylvan Esso but the last set is WITH. Or just to see WITH on tour.
How I would have loved to be sitting on a seat in the middle of this happening ☺️
not to be dramatic but i'd take a bullet to protect this art
sylvan esso with the Mountain Man gang backing, YES PLEASE
I'd love to be sitting in the middle of them all playing here, truly amazing. The first song I ever heard was Coffee and everything since has been a magical journey... Thank you, I hope to hear your music for many years to come.. can't wait for what you do next 🙏😊
71...new fan love your music/thanks
LOVE the 'Poland' synth ... !!!!
The last time I saw Amelia, Nick, and Jenn in a room together was when Sylvan Esso was opening for Wye Oak. This is like an arboreal class reunion.
yes this lineup is insane! Meg Duffy, Jenn, plus the Mountain Man crew!! This is going to be on repeat all weekend!
Meg Duffy’s solo during “Rewind” is absolutely breathtaking- I come back to it constantly, replaying multiple times every time.
With Love and so much Gratitude to Nick, Amelia and every member of the band, sound, and film crew and anyone else who made this gift possible. This pandemic has been so depressing with the loss of concerts for us music lovers, but Sylvan Esso has been so caring and full of life and sharing their amazing friends’ musical talents is such a gift! I’m in tears...this was so much fun. I felt every bit of it. I could feel the love and admiration you had for each other. So lovely to see! 👍❤️
I feel the same!
Great comment
YES
YES. These live performances the last year has given me so much life during such a dark time. Infinite thanks to them
SAME 1000% well said!
Talk about getting sunken in and subversive; they're ALL so focused and in tune with each other it's on another level! 🍺
Every time
I listen with tears in my eyes,
Because I can hear that loving sound.
It's playing now.
It's playing now.
Beautiful
@Paul Rylan nope nobody cares... but it’s cool that La Blogotheque is here
I never get tired of listening and watching this!
Train has HUGE Steely Dan vibes and I am loving it.
'Mountain Man' in full, 'Megafaun' member and 'Bon Ivers' drummer . Woooow
I think I love this too much.
They look like how I feel when I listen to their music. Makes me feel so connected to them and the music.
nicely put -me too!
I am a 40 year old man. I just threw my back out horribly dancing to this.... thanks Sylvan Esso.
That solo at around 36:00 is one of the best I have ever heard.
@Brandon Bodenstein guitarist there is meg duffy, their solo project hand habits is suuper dope so definitely check it out 🔥
@@th3lo oohhhh thank you!
I remember when Adam Duritz said "We feel like we really know how to play our songs now" about Counting Crows. This little live concert makes me think of this. Sylvan Esso have always been a favourite of mine but WOW! This demonstrates how a band can completely understand each other's moves and produce some of the best music, techically and emotionally, I've ever heard.
I don’t know why this popped up on my feed. I wasn’t aware of any of these people before this. But the thumbnail intrigued me, i wanted to know what music would make someone look like that. What an extraordinary performance from a gifted group of musicians. I couldn’t stop watching and have now clocked up six full views so far. And by virtue of all the people involved I’m now going down lots of branching rabbit holes discovering new stuff. As an aside, and I feel bad singling out one person amongst so many incredible performances but Meg Duffy’s guitar playing in Rewind is sublime - it made the hairs goes on up on the back of my neck. I genuinely don’t think i could be without this now, thank you.
I love when that happens. If you haven't already seen it then check out the NPR Tiny Desk concert.
@@richardhall5489 Thanks for the heads-up. I watched and loved both of their Tiny Desk Concerts. And then I watched their NPR live concert as well. There’s always further to go down the rabbit hole right?
@@Deferret Don't forget to check out Mountain Man (start with their Tiny Desk concert?) and Jenn Wasner's solo project Flock of Dimes as well as Wye Oak.
I also keep coming back and re-watching the whole thing. It's a phenomenal moment from a really special group of people.
Dude, I feel the exact same about that solo. Insane.
Meg Duffy's solo during "Rewind" is just absolutely perfect. I could've listened to that jam for an hour.
So beautiful .. can’t get enough of this 💛
It's so damn good, I hope they release the live cut.
Jenn getting everyone choked up on the home stretch there...
Sylvan Esso is still making musical happiness in a world that's so ugly for so many of us right now. It's so wonderful to see. Thanks.
This is the light in the darkness.
I can't count how many times I've listened to this set. I never want it to end and it brings me so much happiness. I'm listening to it on the beach today and it makes the day so much more perfect. Thanks too all you beautiful souls who put this together ❤️.
I feel the same
My gosh I’ve clearly been Ferris wheelin
And it’s
AMAZINGLY
BEAUTIFULLY
MAGICAL

Уау!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck I love it when Meg Duffy inexplicably just shows up to shred.
Please tour with the whole crew! This is next level shit. I can’t emphasize how much more the songs come alive
Yes I feel the same way!
Absolutely agree
Fourthing this idea
Fifthing it! :-)
Do they normally not tour with the whole crew? What parts of the band do come?
Producers, thanks for all the closeups. Very intimate. Wonderful edit, lovely.
Cameras really captured some intimate moments. Truly a lot of affection and passion in that group. Love this video!
Rooftop Dancing is absolutely stunning. I love all of the specialized percussion. So beautiful.
The Drums on rewind are insane, big ups to the drummer! Edit: Also the guitar solo wtf its so good
Kind of feels like a gang of friends except the drummer who is a ringer.... nothing wrong with that
I've been a fan since Tiny Desk but this is another level. Sublime.
Xd48 la
In case you did not know: the guy playing saxophone has his own band called Landlady, which is amazing in its own right.
Daughter of Swords looking painfully cool here. Beautiful video. Thank you!
It was a little early putting out the best live concert this decade. Goddamn, that was beautiful.
It really doesn't get better than this. Thank you all dearly.
Molly's shirt makes me want to go thrift shopping ASAP. I am also responsible for at least 300 of these views. Love listening to this as I work late nights while the kids sleep :) Thanks, much love
i used to have the same socks the sax player is wearing, so i'm practically in the band
Oh my god oh my god… when I got to the end. Oh my god. Tears and goosebumps.
We all know how lucky we are to tune into this magic any ole' day of the week, right? Cool, cool.
Sylvan Esso sang me through the first half of a masters degree, so many hours researching with them in my ears. I’m so happy I saw this today...oh yeah and...whip it, WHIP IT GOOD! Anyone else excited for St. Patrick’s day?
Thank you Sylvan Esso!!!! You're the best and every song makes my soul happy. You're the best. 🧡💙💜❤💓🦋🦋🦋
My face hurts from smiling for the last 43 minutes. Such a stunning band, so much fun being had, so much talent, so original and enjoyable. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's such a treat, pure pleasure. I just love the collective respect and energy, the smiles, Jenn Wasner being just lovely, Nick just basking in the wonder of it all, Alexandra and Molly off on an interplanetary journey of some kind, and the polyrhythmic intricacy of the drums and piano and bass... I'm overflowing.
Love your comment. 😊
This live session is one of the very best I've seen from any artist ever. All things. Thank you thank you.
who knew all it would take is these 43 minutes to cure my pandemic blues? this was absolutely everything I needed!
Feel exactly the same. Best wishes!
Mesmeric.
I truly fall in love every time I listen to this band..
FANTASTIC..............Greetings from Manchester, England. Stay safe and healthy.
Nick has clearly perfected the art of dressing for comfort and it makes me re-examine my life choices. I love you all! Thank you for this absolute gift of a concert.
This piece has been my jam for over 6 months now. I sit here today, crying tears of joy and awe while I watch and listen. The layers and coordination are outstanding and I'm still so enthralled each time I listen. Thank you again
It was clearly a phenomenal moment, a ton of sheer talent arriving in the same place and time. It's inspired, and astonishing.
They're like an Electronic Contemporary Steely Dan! Sooo intracit and deep🍺
Omg what I just was!
Seeing that percussion played live was beautiful, soothes my soul.
Thank you for your music.
I am so OBSESSED WITH YOU ALL. you make my heart, soul and beyond... just tingle and feel the best. I listen to you not even joking every single day for the last few years.
Every time I watch this it gets more magical.
An amazing performance. The guitar solo in Play It Again is one of the best ever. The emotion Meg evokes from that instrument is incredible. Thanks all!
Couldn’t agree more. I’m usually not a big fan of guitar solos, but that one was perfect. Gives me chills.
I'm in a band and haven't been able to perform more than once since the start of the pandemic... Seeing this incredible group of musicians makes the world a little bit more tolerable. Thank you all so much for sharing your art. It really is so magical.
Make it easy, make it plain
Make it simple, make it rain
Lift me up and out again
Like you did back when I was ten
World was smaller, but you knew it then
Play it again...
*starts concert from the beginning, playing it again*
i'm less than halfway through rn but that performance of Numb is just astonishing. I'm especially impressed by the drummer.
One of the best guitar solos I've heard.
are talking about the solo after @35:40 ?
@@marcusfoto yes
This is the best live show I've ever witnessed.
Apparently I needed a cry today. Thanks all.
Loved their music before but this elevates them to the next level.. Eargasim!
This was all new for me. What a treat.
There aren't a lot of things that make me as happy as Sylvan Esso live with the full band. Thank you, beautiful people ❤️
(and Alexandra looks so badass here 😎)
