As I was loosing my wife to cancer, I discovered Sylvan Esso when I was watching/listening music one of those nights on UA-cam(tiny desk). From that night on, I have been listening and watching this beautiful music produced by these two very talented artists and I have seen them live in a few places. Every time that I see this video, some memories of those difficult days come to my mind but it also makes me so happy to hear this music to the point that I just start crying. So to me one the good outcomes of those difficult times is the discovery of these extraordinary musicians , I love everyone of their songs. Congratulations Sylvan Esso on your new album, and I can't wait to see you back on the road.

slack jaw is the ultimate song for me, I literally teared up when it started playing. I listened to it a lot during the period where I was losing/lost my mom. What I always feel when I'm listening to it is how much I've been set up for success by my mom, my family, and the people I've met in my life so far and how frustrated I am with still being so melancholic and how I always seem to be missing something when I know everything I need I have. I kind of feel like that meme where there's this really poorly drawn dude crying about drowning when he's just sitting on the ocean floor lol. But you walk the dog back and life goes on and somehow that's really unbearable and comforting at the same time
I love how the other voices are the two other members of Mountain Man.

I have never experienced full body goosebumps so many times in one hour and fifty three seconds. This is everything.
I woke up today feeling bored and isolated. Single Dad and I miss my kids half their lives. Needed Some tunes to cheer up the empty house for Freya, my puppy, and me. Had this saved for later for eight months and finally decided toss it on the big screen while I sipped coffee and did some finances.
by the end of Come Down the finances were set aside; was frozen in awe (in spite my my body's desire to groove) to Radio; got to happy cry and feel hugged during slack jaw; and danced the rest of the way through.
Amelia and Nick: The world is a better place today if only because I finally got around to watching a simple video. A video available to billions and billions of people. You aren't just sharing songs here. Keep it up. We need people like you to remind us we're the same, to unite us, and to give us something to gently march to as we take back our future as a human race.
Anyhow, I can be long winded so I'll stop here. Besides, my daughter plays violin and I have to make her a Grammy before she gets home.

There are no words to describe everything this makes me feel.
I was there in 2019. I was there at the DPAC the first night of the shows. I was there to hear the _incredibly_ electric crowd, but I'm _not_ losing my edge.
This was everything. But my husband and I both agreed we need more "making of" content. I would watch another hour just of studio sessions and interviews.
Funny because, as much as I enjoyed the "making of" content, I was just hoping I could find a recording now of just the concert *without* the commentary.

Joy and music. Thank you WITH. Seen you live 4 times since the Troubadour and when you opened for TuneYards in New Orleans. Had to sell my tix to WITH at the Disney Concert Hall because of work. So thank you Amelia and Nick for letting us see this show while we shelter.

Saw the two of you absolutely KILL it at Shaky Knees a few years ago. I haven’t danced that hard before or since.
I’ve seen some crazy good music performances, but each of the Sylvan Esso shows I’ve caught make a play for the king of the mtn. So this tour at the Walt Disney Opera House in LA. Unforgettable. Immaculate.
Slack Jaw is one of my favorites. The hook always reminds me of Karen O for some reason. Beautiful.

The experience of watching, listening and feeling this beautiful creativity... It is what has dispelled the lackadaisical nature I've always carried my music about with. Because, when I see how happy the two of you are doing what you love... I am confronted with the horrible absence of musicality with likeminded souls in my life.
I've bought a couple of decent microphones. I've carried my songs with me, but I'm gonna get those fuckers out of me now, so that I might be able to one day hang out with you guys for a jam and some kitchen dancing one morning!

This gig looks like it was absolutely amazing. Been a fan on Flock of Dimes and Wye Oak for years, great to see Jenn doing her thing(s) here. Recently discovered Mountain Man, which led me to Sylvan Esso - I can't believe I hadn't got into them before. The big band sound really works for these songs, but the quieter Slack Jaw is just beautiful too.
This was everything. You meowed at me once while I ate a burrito. I loved it. You then signed my arm and I tattooed it later that week. I adore your joy and creativity, but your community is everything I search for.

Just wow! Discovered Sylvan Esso while deciding whether or not to go to the Eaux Claires festival and thankfully we bought tickets and saw them live after a beautiful summer rainfall in 2017. One of the best live performances I've ever experienced. Watching them live here is so special. And Meg Duffy on guitar is a fucking gem! Thank you all for sharing your gifts with us.

the confusion around the Coffee intro is literally too real omg the “seven five seven five seven five” and they’re all triplets ugh
I'm unreasonably disappointed that they became triplets for the full band version, as opposed to the dotted eighths or quarters or whatever they used to be, that phased over the backbeat in this subtly off way. Still love the song- just miss the little extra weirdness it used to have.
@@robinchestnut1029 yeah on the record they are so subtly nudged off time but it works so well - they sound "sticky". Trying to play that onstage though would be pure nightmare
and on the close-up the guitarist's fly is un-zipped....whoops!
