As I was loosing my wife to cancer, I discovered Sylvan Esso when I was watching/listening music one of those nights on UA-cam(tiny desk). From that night on, I have been listening and watching this beautiful music produced by these two very talented artists and I have seen them live in a few places. Every time that I see this video, some memories of those difficult days come to my mind but it also makes me so happy to hear this music to the point that I just start crying. So to me one the good outcomes of those difficult times is the discovery of these extraordinary musicians , I love everyone of their songs. Congratulations Sylvan Esso on your new album, and I can't wait to see you back on the road.
A brilliant reminder of what community and joy look, sound, and feel like in the midst of pandemic-induced anxiety, numbness, and isolation. Bless you, Sylvan Esso & Co. Magnificent.
slack jaw is the ultimate song for me, I literally teared up when it started playing. I listened to it a lot during the period where I was losing/lost my mom. What I always feel when I'm listening to it is how much I've been set up for success by my mom, my family, and the people I've met in my life so far and how frustrated I am with still being so melancholic and how I always seem to be missing something when I know everything I need I have. I kind of feel like that meme where there's this really poorly drawn dude crying about drowning when he's just sitting on the ocean floor lol. But you walk the dog back and life goes on and somehow that's really unbearable and comforting at the same time
You ever watch/experience something and think "I need to share this with someone, who can I share this with??" Because this was so perfect I just have to let someone else experience it
I woke up today feeling bored and isolated. Single Dad and I miss my kids half their lives. Needed Some tunes to cheer up the empty house for Freya, my puppy, and me. Had this saved for later for eight months and finally decided toss it on the big screen while I sipped coffee and did some finances. by the end of Come Down the finances were set aside; was frozen in awe (in spite my my body's desire to groove) to Radio; got to happy cry and feel hugged during slack jaw; and danced the rest of the way through. Amelia and Nick: The world is a better place today if only because I finally got around to watching a simple video. A video available to billions and billions of people. You aren't just sharing songs here. Keep it up. We need people like you to remind us we're the same, to unite us, and to give us something to gently march to as we take back our future as a human race. Anyhow, I can be long winded so I'll stop here. Besides, my daughter plays violin and I have to make her a Grammy before she gets home.
I was playing on the kitchen floor with my 11 month baby with this on in the background and he TOOK HIS FIRST STEP sometime during "Rewind". It was such a lovely moment
I was there in 2019. I was there at the DPAC the first night of the shows. I was there to hear the _incredibly_ electric crowd, but I'm _not_ losing my edge.
Joy and music. Thank you WITH. Seen you live 4 times since the Troubadour and when you opened for TuneYards in New Orleans. Had to sell my tix to WITH at the Disney Concert Hall because of work. So thank you Amelia and Nick for letting us see this show while we shelter.
I’ve seen some crazy good music performances, but each of the Sylvan Esso shows I’ve caught make a play for the king of the mtn. So this tour at the Walt Disney Opera House in LA. Unforgettable. Immaculate.
This was everything. But my husband and I both agreed we need more "making of" content. I would watch another hour just of studio sessions and interviews.
Funny because, as much as I enjoyed the "making of" content, I was just hoping I could find a recording now of just the concert *without* the commentary.
@@rdelwic They released the WITH album on Spotify and probably other streaming services. There are additional tracks on the album that aren't included in the documentary
The backup singers are Amelia's partners in the band Mountain Man. Check them out if you haven't. Sylvan Esso actually by making a remix of Mountain Man's Play it Right.
37:50 coffee. If you haven't already, listen to the complete WITH recording of this song on this Spotify. I thought it couldn't get any better but it did.
filling me with immense nostalgia for seeing live shows. the excitement, and aspect of community just dancing alongside strangers along to music you both love. I guess this is the closest we can get to that for now 🌹
'moving through the pain' - i have never felt my feelings echoed so perfectly. this is what sylvan esso is and I felt this in their songs i heard here and there. until my ex mentioned crying to them recently and I realised i have too, and since then I can't get enough of these beautiful humans
thanks for imprinting this night on the internet. still can't believe I got to be there in person! extra special shout out to Meg, it was the combo of the both of you that made the flight worth it for sure! also spotted a super cool and causal Justin Vernon there, bet yall had a great after-party!!
This gig looks like it was absolutely amazing. Been a fan on Flock of Dimes and Wye Oak for years, great to see Jenn doing her thing(s) here. Recently discovered Mountain Man, which led me to Sylvan Esso - I can't believe I hadn't got into them before. The big band sound really works for these songs, but the quieter Slack Jaw is just beautiful too.
Just wow! Discovered Sylvan Esso while deciding whether or not to go to the Eaux Claires festival and thankfully we bought tickets and saw them live after a beautiful summer rainfall in 2017. One of the best live performances I've ever experienced. Watching them live here is so special. And Meg Duffy on guitar is a fucking gem! Thank you all for sharing your gifts with us.
This was so beautiful-- I cried so many happy tears. Thank you guys so much for sharing this with us and letting us into your world. Sending so much love
I love you guys !!! Your music rocks me to from the perimeter to the core . As I finish the last details on dinner I was soul inspired!!! Season with tears of joy😂 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Dear Amelia and Nick, The experience of watching, listening and feeling this beautiful creativity... It is what has dispelled the lackadaisical nature I've always carried my music about with. Because, when I see how happy the two of you are doing what you love... I am confronted with the horrible absence of musicality with likeminded souls in my life. I've bought a couple of decent microphones. I've carried my songs with me, but I'm gonna get those fuckers out of me now, so that I might be able to one day hang out with you guys for a jam and some kitchen dancing one morning! I'ma pull my finger so I can dance to kitchen music in that houses kitchen with you radiant people.
The beginning of this made my whole body have chills and I had tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for this. My love grew so much more for this band. Thanks times a billion.
Thank u for putting this on UA-cam...so much stale musical crap being put out now days...great to hear fresh creative artistic real songs...such a great compilation of sounds and people....keep it coming.....
This was everything. You meowed at me once while I ate a burrito. I loved it. You then signed my arm and I tattooed it later that week. I adore your joy and creativity, but your community is everything I search for.
Amaze, amaze, you two! Watched this beautiful concert from New Zealand, land of the long white cloud. Hope you can make it here someday when the world opens up again. Thank you for the beautiful magic you create. Chills and dancing from your music--wherever I am--usually in the kitchen. My teens think I'm weird. Shout out to Wisconsin!
I’m so happy I stumbled upon this. I’ve listened to a few of your songs before but woah this took me on a unexpected midnight living room dance journey. Loved all of it many thanks for the good times this’ll bring me
Nice job on the tracks! Coffee was the beez knees! And so was wolf and dress and well everything! Thank you sylvan esso and the others that came together to perform a great mix of songs! Cant wait to see you live again! Hopefully at red rocks in Morrison Colorado that was a good show and cant wait to see how you guys evolve! Keep jamming keep progressing and keep being You!

Gabriel Hernandez that's one of the nicest and sweetest things I've read in awhile my man.
Keep keeping on and hope you're good 🖖🏽✌🏻
Bless your beautiful soul!

Listen to them after losing my baby daughter

I had the exact same experience. Full body chills thinking, “everyone I know and love needs to see this!”
We can all share it together
Same here 🙋♀️☺️
I just shared it with 4 friends
I have never experienced full body goosebumps so many times in one hour and fifty three seconds. This is everything.
i never fail to get toppled emotionally hearing her sing Slack Jaw. christ.
"usually I'm just singing with younger versions of myself" is one of the best quotes of all time.
I hear it as a Mitch Hedberg reference but maybe that's just me

There are no words to describe everything this makes me feel.
Absolutely incredible. Please never stop. The world doesn't deserve you but we do need you!!
Indeed we do!
I love how the other voices are the two other members of Mountain Man.
I was going to ask if they were from Mountain Man...
So much love in that room...beautiful.
I was playing on the kitchen floor with my 11 month baby with this on in the background and he TOOK HIS FIRST STEP sometime during "Rewind". It was such a lovely moment

From Tiny Desk to a great concert! Definitely made my isolation Thursday the best ever! Gracias!👍✌️😊🙏🏼🎵🎶👍🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵
Way to stay dynamic y'all.. this could have turned into a jammy mess but y'all kept the space... so good. I'll watch this many times..
good to know I'm not the only one crying to these angels
The opening made me cry...thank you for sharing such a beautiful musical organism with people who were not there.

You genuinely created something special with this album ❤

Saw the two of you absolutely KILL it at Shaky Knees a few years ago. I haven’t danced that hard before or since.
Slack Jaw is one of my favorites. The hook always reminds me of Karen O for some reason. Beautiful.

Just absolutely amazing, beautiful people. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us.
I saw Sylvan Esso open Bon Iver at merriweather post pavilion, Maryland in 2011, a gift to my then boyfriend and a gift to myself for ever
They look like they had so much fun. I wish I was playing with them! So good! I’m glad I discovered their music!!!!
37:50 coffee. If you haven't already, listen to the complete WITH recording of this song on this Spotify. I thought it couldn't get any better but it did.
Fantastic. Superb. Awe inspiring... even the comment are bringing tears to my eyes
Is this staying on UA-cam?? I'm gonna rewatch this a million times
We all are.
All day, everyday 🖤

Beautiful. A celebration. Meditation.
I keep coming back to rewatch 08:27. Amelia's voice is incredible and that variation in "Wolf" is magic ✨

holy cow, that version of H.S.K.T. is absolutely amazing!
I dance around to that song with my kids daily😊
The practice-to-live editing mid songs is so seamless and dreamy 💕

I love the band. It adds such a different dynamic to the music.
Coffee is so far the coolest song i have heard
I LOVE this, but there's a glitch in the edit at 24:55 where the video is out of sync with the audio. Seems to restore back to normal at 31:30
Josh Hana yeah that was messing with me hard. I kept trying to fix it. It’s right when they switch over to The Glow.
i really hope they fix this!!!!! it is otherwise perfection!!!
Damn. Yeah, this would be perfect if they fixed that.
5 minutes in and i’m already crying, thank you so much for uploading this ❤️

Everything about this is lovely. I was into Sylvan Esso's music before I watched the film, and I dig it way more now.
I love this so much it hurts
The drummer and Jenn Wasner also play with Bon Iver.
And Jenn is an accomplished singer songwriter herself (Wye Oak and Flock of Dimes). She's just amazing.
