Its nor nearly as hard as youd think. I pulled My Tilly 212 out the box and tore it right open and went stage 2 lol. It's a beast now today as I've learned so much more since then too.
You make it look so easy.
I just ordered the stuff to finish my stage 2 setup and I added the billet side cover because its badass looking and it just happens to have a way better oil drain plug than the stock ones for my setup.
RBG awesome content and the instructions are very clear. It makes me want to build one. I build chevy v-8s and when I do head studs arp reccomends not tightening the studs all the way down. Use oil on the under the head of the fastener to help with proper torque also.

On a Predator 212 with a Stage 2 or 3 can I still run a torque converter ?
Yes you can but it is recommended to get one that is rated for the horsepower your engine is going to produce under the Stage 2 or 3 kit.

I think a video on installing a electric start on a212 hemi with Honda pts. would be nice for people with mudmoters. Mine is hard to pull start because of the upgrades.

Need a Predator Ghost Billet everything video. Please. And whats the best motor 224cc or Ghost motors to start a build with? If i was to buy all the billet upgrades and more upgrades eventually.
The fact that first of all it’s a 20hp fully built lawnmower engine but second of all
There’s still room for improvement
Such as hydrolic roller lifters instead of the stock flat tappet ones

SilkySlim you can’t because the kick start is opposite of the way the motor spins... you would have to kick it forwards. Akward
I built this exact step up every part you used and I keep blowing belts it completely destroyed my sprocket. What’s the next step on clutches that will actually handle the power and so I can actually enjoy this badass motor
How are holding the crank from turning when installing flywheel nut to 65 ft lbs!
You need to do a 212 with AMR 300 supercharger on the dino

I’ve heard you need to get a specific flywheel for the hemi, could I use a non hemi flywheel?
At the 16:00 mark the valve keepers seem to be misaligned. One is i. The grooves and 1 is not. Was this corrected before the engine was ran?
You should do a electronic ignition modification using a magnetic pickup and a GM HEI ignition module and then a powerful ignition coil

Don’t you have to grind something on the crank of the hemi?
If they make a modified side cover they should add a oil pump and a drilled crankshaft for pleasure lubrication modification.
Red why don’t you ever port out the heads a bit?
I'm guessing it's so go power sports can demonstrate how much power can be "bolted on"

@@trevinskiking2165 they are all clones of a honda gx200 most clones are made with lower tolerence standards. The preditors are pretty good compaired to most clones there are alot of diferences tho between them all

$997+tax for all listed parts with engine. Stage 3 is listed most places @ 16-20hp. Brand spankin new 670cc predator is 22hp for $829.

I didn't have an oil sensor in mind so I didn't need to do thatplus for my Governor whole I tapped it half away and used 1/4 inch allen wrench head plug in red loctite
If i did this complete build for my mi i bike that i love will it still be long lasting

Seems you know these predator 212s could you tell me where they suck oil from when rolled over or thrown in a real hard corner. I have a go kart that had a tehcumseh on it and you could roll that thing all day and throw it in a high bank corner in our sand pit and never had an issue I backed into one day and broke the carb off it and I bought a new predator 212 for it and any time you roll it or throw it in a hard corner the thing turns into a fogger for a few seconds or so, it disappears in the smoke.
What is the lift on that camshaft?
Does the arc hemi flywheel have magnets on inside of flywheel to be able to add charging coils for a headlight?
No. If you want charging you should go with the Tilliotson e start. Their flywheels have much higher rpm range than stock predators

I'm new to this game but have been riding/racing off road and moto since 1974 so I know my way around a bit...2 things I noticed right off...WHY hasn't someone built a billet intake manifold that loops up and over so when you go to a larger carb or even the adapter/pod filter in the stage 1 kit, its not sticking way the hell out into the wind??...not only is it in the way of riding, but I have seen vid after vid of guys crashing, which is commonplace on these things and wiping that filter or carb right off the motor??....why??....stupid. Another thing, WHY is the header on most of these minis sticking out in the wind from under the seat pan, just behind the aftermarket air filter pod, just waiting to burn the shit out of someones leg??.....that header could be made with a slight bend to the right and route it right under the seat pan and have the pipe route between the rear fender and frame rail, making bolting on a silencer easy-peasy with a bracket bolted to the frame rail......just crazy shit I'm seeing with zero thought put into it.

May I share some tech info with you the next time you remove a flywheel rotate the flywheel so you have access to the counterbalance use your pry bars the normal way but instead of hitting the crankshaft strike the flywheel on the Outer Edge at the counterbalance with the hammer it comes loose every time
Right? I have seen so many videos of hammering the crankshaft. Like they have never heard of crank walk.

What size push rods should I get for a hemi predator. Do I just get the same length as stock?
Thinking of doing stainless steel vales on a non-hemi..but they say I have to ream out the Vale guide to 5.5 mm...how do I do that???

so u get consistent torque of the bolts inside an engine

Jeremy Dubs I guess that makes since. But more then one time I've cracked the rod. Then discovered it was hydraulic pressure from an old head. If it's clean you will always get consistent torque.
I wouldn't suggest putting oil in the hole if it is a blind hole. Doing so will cause a hydraulic lock and snap the rod bolt or pull the threads on the aluminum rod.

Hey red beard what length chromoly pushrods did you use? Looking for a set for my tillotson 212 hemi head, I believe I've found the upgraded valve train kit you put on your engine here as well so I think I'm gonna go for that too, it's the only difference between my engine and your build here, plus the fact that I'm running pvl ignition flywheel and briggs coil

He made a bracket that bolts onto the side cover and holds the output shaft in place. Omb warehouse sells them I believe
RGB: I have noticed some people add a oil pressure release from the Valve cover back into the top govenor hole. Is this better then a catch can or do I need both. I have a Preditor 212 Hemi, govenor removed, billet flywheel, 18lb springs, 22mm mukuni carb, .010 head gasket, and I am getting a high ammount of oil blown out of the valve cover at high RPM. Very messy. How can I fix this issue. Please help.

Hey Red Beard. At 5:45 when removing governor gear from the crank. Once removed is there play in the crank since the gear is now missing? If so, How do you deal with it?
I thought about that too, although redundant the thin gear could be left in there & maybe no shimming of the crank needed later.Notice your very pertinent engine build qstn/comment went unanswered.Trev NZ.As an aside you don't remove a crank key with a solid hammer,you use a plastic or rubber headed mallet.And what's "God" got to do with anything ?"Trev NZ

Damn autocomplete: Jose if you take that gear off you'll need to mic or dial gauge the end float of the crankshaft the desired amount (you still might have to do that with the gear left on to check end float) The buying public isn't to know too much: it's called autocratic cencorship.T NZ😋
What tool do you use 2 hold down the rod when yu. Check for clearance ?

Linda, he used a common crankshaft key - fits in the crank groove & Flywheel keyway slot - Trev New Zealand PS & you can buy offset crank keys upto 8' crank degrees advanced which is 16' degrees ignition.Ask at you local speed Shop or try Isky Cams.T
Do you have a link for the valve spring compressor? I put the ss valve kit and 26lb springs on my hemi last weekend. I got it done but it was really difficult, the spring compressor I had was too big.
