Pretty awesome to see your engine here and is a great learning experience for everybody. Good job for your first build. For sure upgrade your carburetor and it will up the horsepower.
It's so nice to see someone helping young people get interested in building and working on engines. Back in the early 1970's, I learned from Mike Demarist and Bill Schultz. They built Drag Racing engines for some of the top Drag Racers back in the day but they were never too busy that they couldn't help a young guy learn the ropes. It is a learning process and I built 5 cars until I had got to the point where I had a fast car. I then went on to spend a career in the Automotive industry as a Mechanic. It was a good career. Thank you again for helping Jose. And to Jose I say, keep at it.
You the GOAT because nobody else with your reach and a channel of your size would be willing to help out one of the subs with a project build. I could be wrong but if everyone starts doing this you set the blueprint
Even though you were riding on grass, not asphalt, or gravel, it sends shivers up my spine, to see bare legs and hands. The first few times I rode my 212 Predator, non hemi mountain bike, I had trouble keeping the front wheel on the ground, when I accelerated away, in traffic. Once, when waiting for a traffic light, My pants caught the long throttle lever, sticking out from the carb, and, over she went. It was more embarrassing, when the same thing happened after I picked the bike up, and remounted it. After cutting off the excess throttle lever, and some head scratching, I figured out the fast rebound setting on my front forks was causing the front end to jump up when accelerating, so I switched it to slow rebound, and the front wheel began to behave itself. I know a 212 Predator is not really legal, In Canada, with no license, plates, or insurance, but, it looks like a Monster 90 engine, only more fun. I try to keep it under 100 km/h so as not to attract too much attention, but, being partly blind, and mostly deaf, with no sense of balance, and 70 years old, it's my only transportation. Why don't you DIY guys build a motorized mtb? They are a blast, and much more road worthy. I did stretch the frame to fit the 212, but the Monster 90 engine fits with no mods. Go Power Sports were nice enough to GIVE me a Juggernaut clutch, when they first came out with it, and it is a game changer. COMPLETELY maintenance-free, smooth, and delivers power, when it's needed. It is definitely a Swiss watch among clutches. I'd really like to see you put together a motorized mtb, to see what you come up with. PS, I was a little concerned, when I saw the stock flywheel you pulled off that engine, but, then I saw you replace it with a billet alum one, good call. that stock flywheel won't keep it's magnet, at that RPM, and they become a bullet, at 6,000rpm. Nice work.
Bravo Mr RB! My 1st video... Great info and build. I'm sure this will all come back to you tenfold. Thanks for spreading the good word. All the best! Jeff
fist engine i did at 14 i put my pston in backwards /1986 it200 yamaha 2 stroke .need less to say brand new wisco piston with bent piston ring stuck in sideways piston i clean up damaged piston with gouged smoothed over as not to scratch up my new bore that got nicked up in my failed rebuild so i installed new rings and it ran great for a long time .crap was stupid expensive back in 1995 think that piston was 69.00 then so in now prices be around 175 or so
Love it! Thank you for helping a brother out. It gives me hope to see good people doing good things. I just got a $50 Baja Warrior in fantastic condition. I cannot believe the difference with just a vm24, exhaust, and CVT. Pulls wheelies and tops out @ 48.7mph!
Great video and love how genuine of a person you are and since your first videos till now you haven't changed at all. Still remember when i messaged you a pic of my first build and you actually responded and complimented it. ❤
A great and wonderful gesture. Further proof to resist the urge to order stuff that one thinks will gain a ton of power. Been there done that. 2 Kings 9: 20
You are a good man to help out a viewer so well. At the same time I’m glad to see all your skill and direction in fine tuning small engines. Your experience is beyond helpful! Glad for your channel.
This should be a learning lesson for all backyard kart builders. I followed the road to hp videos and built my 212 and got great results for way less money. Greg made a great point. When starting your build, trash the stock card and go for the slide carb. Don't waste your money trying to improve the stock carb. I tried and it is a waste of time. Great learning video on how to spend your money wisely.
Great job as usual! Would have been cool to try a vm22 on the engine while it was on the dyno just to show the difference on the mild build. I'm sure it would have made some difference to show Jose. Thanks for sharing!!!
You might want to shim the springs that RB installed in the head since he cut the spring pockets for you. He has you in the safe zone at .060" and rightfully so, considering the build, but there is some HP, torque, and RPM that might be left on the table without shimming the springs to .030" of coil bind. Just a thought on your "Road to Horsepower" Good luck , Jose and thank you RB for another awesome video!
It's a hard lesson to learn, and I am sure he will learn a lot from watching your video ,he won't make this mistake again and that's the best way to learn ,best wishes to all
You can teach a man to fish. You have been way too kind. I hope Hose appreciates your kindness. It's great to see guys just sharing time because of their good Christian nature. You're a good dude. Two thumbs-up and thanks for the video, & another something I really need in my life 😅
My name is Dan & I’m a 63 year old kid! I’m about to start building these small engines & I like what ur selling & ur knowledge from what i have seen!! In my younger years i did small block building engines but theres alot of demand for small engines so let’s see what you can teach a old man!! Great job on the hemispheric engine!! Look forward for more!!
I built several "okay" engines before I built a winners circle engine . It's part of the learning curve . Jose is on his way to building great engines .
Red beard you are a class act! Great info for the people. Im a side builder that knows all this stuff from building ATV motors. My personal was a honda 400 making 51 hp on the dyno. Keeps up the great videos and the proper information to the future builders!
Redbeard is telling the truth thats why i like him an black 66 thier straight up. Get a non hemi head port it an the gopowersports 26mm carb! Stainless valves an champion rockers.
dang it red... you done called me out.. now i cant troll the guy... but seriously... im glad u did this vid and im glad he had this problem, your tear down was seriously helpful i ended up having a vacum leak on the varb as well when i put a chinese vm22 i bought on amazon on her and it made a world of a difference that i seen this and went strait to checking if thats what had happend to me... had to order the right gasket for the stock predator manifold...
There you go Jose Greg has set you up for a great engine with plenty of mods you can throw at a solid base have fun matey enjoy all power to you and redbeard of course...john...Australia...😊😊
Like he said he could of got to where it’s the fastest but I’m actually glad he left me some work to do my self, only way we learn by being hands on - Jose
Wow… that is shocking for only 10.81 hp.. I have a 212 HEMI and when it was brand new we put valve springs to rev 6k rpm and a Briggs 206 animal carb with a black slide, and a fuel pump powered by the vacuum from the engine block, and it reached a whopping 14 hp. It was 100 bux for the engine, and 2-300 for the other parts. And those other parts were even used too haha
It's way under-carburated. Needs a properly set up 22 or a sloppy 24. Note that too big won't work, either; and matching the carb and ports, then properly tuning the carb, would get him smiling.
Heck yeah! I have almost the same build, thing runs pretty good. I already have a big carb and i was thinking that porting is what I'm missing from making it run excellent.
941 you must live in palmetto or bradington fl? What a nice guy! He did probably close to $1000 dollars worth of work and the new parts. Look how many views he go just from helping out a subscriber. Might want to think about doing more videos like this. Just in the views might have paid for everything he did for you. I have some big motors if your interested and live close to st Pete fl keep up the great work and videos
I remember when I was around 15-16 and built a custom pitbike with one of those walmart baha bike frames. Bought that frame on craigslist for $40 and repainted it blue and got a predator 212 engine and put a stage 2 performance kit on it. That thing was so much fun and probably went 35-40mph and got great smiles per gallon puttering around my neighborhood.
Hey I spent almost 2 grand on my motor and I can’t get it to run right need to do another series I’m your guy !! I’m in Kentucky not to far lol but I’m sure you got more pressing matters ! I’ll hopefully figure out what’s going on just got into the building part not long ago love mini bikes love riding them so I figured it was time to start tinkering got a Tilly 225 and started changing out parts now when I start it she just runs wide open I’ve checked my carb the that’s all sound it’s a 26mm nibbi everything is new on that engine put a 275 cam in it 1:1 ration champion rockers chromoly pushrods billet rod from gps got the pvl flywheel on it as well
I have built several of these engines for my karts and buddies and I’m still learning I have found that instead of buying random parts or these all in one kits it’s better to order parts from a place that has been building engines awhile get in touch with them tell them what your budget is and what you want to achieve and they will tell you what you need.
Red Beard you are awesome! I can appreciate someone who wants to help someone with less experience so they can learn from their mistakes. Thank you for this video!
Now the real kicker, how to be a carb jet whisper'er. I still can't figure out the jets without an EGT gauge or something to tell me directly how lean/rich I am. May Jose have good luck at whatever his elevation is with his 22mm or 24mm future carb, he'll be trying to sniff it out for months.
I’m on a 196cc stock engine going 60+ n FL but I made a mistake n touched da valves n the intake push rod n rockers pop off, now I’m watching vids tryna learn (TDC) & valve adjustment. Love vid. n ur 23:20 engine Jose
Love you guys helping this young man. Would love to see some big block stuff on the dyno like a stock 420/459 to stage 1 but uncertain if your dyno supports it. Great work and a great channel.
I am going to need to go back and rewatch some of the build videos for sure. I tried my hand at it, engine ran awful and shook like crazy. Ended up ordering a built engine, dont regret it - throwing parts at a motor quickly discouraged me. This makes me want to tinker with it again as it sucks looking at an engine that has less than 20 hours on it not being any good.
RB never be fearful or ashamed you. Cannot help everyone and blessing one is enough. The others will understand you are ONE man. That being said you increase your user interests with these types of interactions as well. Now a couple comments from me the Masterbuilder of B.S. 😂. Why do you prefer assembly fluid when ARC swears to builders to use the engine oil you are using in the motor so the splash system can keep flowing? Sassy fluid is sticky and stays put. #2 who taught you that hot glue on the suction cups!?? BUDDY! If I had a dollar bill for every curse word I screamed every time those cups let loose on a good lap I’d have my own dyno! 😂 #3 You gave Jose a new block and crank and several other parts. That boy is happy as pie. 🥧 Keep on Redin~On brotha. Psst… when we get to see that supercharger on that twin in the back?? 😮
Again, thank you so much man. I can’t wait to get it back and take it for a spin. This is only the beginning ima always cherish this moment - Jose 🏁🔥🙏
Nice lil build Jose! But like Greg said port that head bro an do a slide carb upgrade! I think a 26mm flatslide nibbi would do that build wonders🤘🏽😎
@@Minibike-Isaacyeah ima have to look into that Forsure bro
Pretty awesome to see your engine here and is a great learning experience for everybody. Good job for your first build. For sure upgrade your carburetor and it will up the horsepower.
Hey, forgot to ask if you used the longer rod than factory, if so which did you get TIA
I used chromoly NR racing 5.260 push rods and they seem a bit shorter then the stock once but idk just my opinion
Do you have a video on how to correctly port a head? I just searched through your videos and I could not find one?
You are one of the best mini bike UA-camrs for helping one of your viewers. God bless you man .
God bless you to
"inflating their dyno numbers"
100% a jab at GPS.
So glad he has finally wised up and gotten away from them. Now hopefully EC does better.
Very generous of you he is lucky you helped
Thank you sir. He should have a good runner.

What a great thing to do for Jose. He'll never forget it and this will be his first step to becoming a great small engine builder!
Yeah a moment im always going to cherish that’s Forsure just gotta keep pushing further sir -Jose
You the GOAT because nobody else with your reach and a channel of your size would be willing to help out one of the subs with a project build. I could be wrong but if everyone starts doing this you set the blueprint
Found a race go kart in the metal bin at my job. Missing a wheel. Needs engine. I have no clue what to do. Lol. This is now my new favorite channel.
Yup,ur a good man for helping out the way you did on his motor, these days there aren't many like you around,God bless u and everyone.
That hot glue on the valve lapping tool is a good idea
Even though you were riding on grass, not asphalt, or gravel, it sends shivers up my spine, to see bare legs and hands. I do not own a mini bike, but the information shared and explained in this channel is excellent. Kudos for not turning into a gatekeeper.
Bravo Mr RB! My 1st video... Great info and build. I'm sure this will all come back to you tenfold. Thanks for spreading the good word. All the best! Jeff
Salute RBG...you should do more of these videos
I will be on the look out for more people to help this was fun!

That was nice of you to help him out by giving him that block in 36 lb Springs!👍
You totally should make a video on how to port a head. Your one of the few UA-cam’s i trust to show me how to port my head properly.
Love it! Thank you for helping a brother out. It gives me hope to see good people doing good things. I just got a $50 Baja Warrior in fantastic condition. I cannot believe the difference with just a vm24, exhaust, and CVT. Pulls wheelies and tops out @ 48.7mph!

This is one more reason I love Red beard garage❤❤❤❤
Live and learn! Hopefully this helps others too.
Right on RBG! Keep learning & going Jose, Now you gonna rock!
I think it's great what you did for Jose I did watch one and two nice job. The world needs more people like you.
God bless you.
Good for you both! Being able to offer up your build to diagnose and fix, and to RBG to help us all as we learn. Good run, enjoy the motor!
Great learning experience for all of us.

best channel for minibikes
It's really cool to see you help someone out with an issue like this. Keep the videos coming.
Super kind man to help this person. You will be blessed 100 fold
God bless him. This is how you learn. The knowledge he gained from his build and your help was worth what he had invested into that engine.

This small series you did was amazing, would love to see more like it. Thank you for doing what you do, you have taught me a lot.
I really like both of these videos. You remained humble and offered awesome advice. We all make mistakes and that’s okay.
I built several "okay" engines before I built a winners circle engine . It's part of the learning curve . Jose is on his way to building great engines .
You're such a nice guy. I hope you hit the mega million jackpot for your actions.
Can only gain experience through experience.
Looks like y'all got a good bit of the trail cleared out. Looking good.
Your the real deal! Thanks for helping him. It takes more energy to lift someone up than to put someone down. Great video for people learn.
Very valuable info at the end.

Thanks for info about that piston.
More good info on engine building.
You are amazing; an impressively smooth engine. I like the tank mount on this bike and will probably use it on my next bike.
Thanks for the great content, and for helping out one of your fans.
Cool of you 2 help guy out in his journey! ❤
There you go Jose Greg has set you up for a great engine with plenty of mods you can throw at a solid base have fun matey enjoy all power to you and redbeard of course...john...Australia...😊😊

How far you've came red beard and family. Geez. I'm so proud of yall.
That takes me back to the early 80s riding our mini bikes.
Wow… that is shocking for only 10.81 hp.. Need to get your hands on the northstar e420 efi engine! Comes from northertool an has a few sizes all fuel injection with self tuning
Looking forward to seeing some 25+hp engines dynoed
Hey brother I'm into 2 stroke Rc truck.. I really liked how you step up to help him..
Well, you’re a very nice guy for doing a favor for free I like people like you
I worked with a guy back in the late 90s! They raced carts and was telling me some of their refreshed engines was around $700 back then!!!
Seems like the idol is kinda high. Thanks for helping Jose you're a saint for that
When are we going to see a big block on that very curious to see what a Duromaxx440 makes??
Yeah brother im in palmetto Fl thank you for tuning in -Jose
i would of guessed 14 bhp but never 11 wow ye that port job would do it for shore keep up the good work Red
I really enjoyed this series
Thank you brother !!!
Well the saying hard head makes a soft bottom but some people have to learn the hard way but great video showing how to doing it right
Go for it Jose!!!

You are awesome dude I'm sure not only did you educate some of us but you did Jose a solid with that block swap Over and above the call of duty
Awesome video
Good man
Takes a real good man to do this
Respect is refreshing
Red Beard you are awesome! I can appreciate someone who wants to help someone with less experience so they can learn from their mistakes. Thank you for this video!
Jose take care of that engine buddy. Great series
I honestly wanna put it in a trophy case and only take it out in go kart meets or shows 😂 this a moment ima always cherish 🙏- Jose
A true mechanic to help people not take advantage
By the people. 4 the people. ❤
That GPS : perfect
Was funny 🤣👊🏻
You're a good guy!!
Good looking motor. 👌
Thank you brother - Jose 🙏
Great advice lot of information . Keep the content coming very interested in your nitro conversation.
I’m so glad I watched the road to hp. My 212cc ripps.
Thanks you my man - Jose 🙏
I just got my first engine build done it all started with a Honda gx160 I had laying around hopefully it’s a beast when I get to run it
I’m on a 196cc stock engine going 60+ n FL but I made a mistake n touched da valves n the intake push rod n rockers pop off, now I’m watching vids tryna learn (TDC) & valve adjustment. Love vid. n ur 23:20 engine Jose
Very cool that you helped Jose so much.
YOU MUST SEE MANUFACTURING TUTUK FACTURY IN INDIA....... OMG. I WAS ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACT. MUST SEE THIS.
Love you guys helping this young man. Would love to see some big block stuff on the dyno like a stock 420/459 to stage 1 but uncertain if your dyno supports it. Great work and a great channel.
A lot of good info in this short series. Simple mistakes a lot of people could make. Spend wisely.
You didn't include the link for the engine stand.? Do you have the link Red Beard?
