The game is not without it's flaws so far, but I quite like it, a nice set of improvements over CoH2, I wish we could zoom the camera out further, but there is a mod for it already, though it doesn't work for campaign yet.
@@Deadwarrior000 i've been playing CoH1 casually every now and then for like 10 years, but i never got myself to like the pacing of the CoH2. CoH3 seems similar to CoH1 with a few QoL changes. Combat is faster and units die as fast as in CoH2.
@@rwogh it sucked for 2 days then a couple of hours in single play mode I'm used to the "grid" key bindings already .. and I'm baffled why they didn't come up with that system from COH1 already .. but i sux monkey balls that the zoom is way too violent ... and it cant be changed in single player campaign
I do play a similiar game called: iron harvest 1920+. But its ww1 and with mechs. So some stuff i quite familiar. But this video now made me know better about comapny of heroes 3 👍
Thanks for the review! I've noticed a red cover icon that I believe is denoting negative cover on roads/road edges (in this video for example, your flanking rifleman at 2:06 get it once they start to move south of the truck).
Negative cover icons also appear to indicate the new high ground mechanic. If your unit is in green cover, but takes fire from enemies on higher ground, their green cover symbol will turn to red
I wasn't 100% sure if that was "negative cover" or "cover currently inactive" - I guess the icon does match the old one, but I've not yet seen it come up when in the middle of the road, or shallow water, or anything of the sort. You might be right though, and maybe I was being a little overly doubtful
@@PartyElite one of the video tutorials Relic just put out (I believe it was how 2 take cover for dummies) specifically mentions it as for "units taking fire from enemies with high ground advantage"

@@kgeo2686 I say play the first one. best value for money with more, longer campaigns. gameplay is also lot more strategic. you're expected to build bases as well. COH2 removed a lot of the slower paced gameplay of the first game, and is more fast paced with almost no base building

Have you played Gates of Hell: Ostfront? It's the spiritual successor to Assault Squad, made by a development studio of former modders. It's awesome, and my favourite WW2 strategy game atm :)
In prior games, iirc, negative cover would include locations (like being on the road) and the pips on the ground for the move order would turn red. Now it seems to only show up on the unit when they're being fired from a direction that ignores their cover.
So on the recommended specs it suggested an 8 core processor but I only have a 4. Could I run the game with out it being shit or should I wait to buy until I upgrade? I can run warhammer 1 without any problems for reference
I can't imagine this game is more intense than TW:WH1, but a lot of that comes down to optimization. How does your setup compare to the minimum specs? I'd defer to that to be safe!
I played for 4 hours now and there is definently some bug fixing but im happy with graphics which a lot of other players are complaining about. I am however very annoyed that they moved troop overlook to bottom left. under settings/gameplay there is a "global unit control position" which is default bottom left. I changed it to top right but it didnt help. so did 2 of my friends with no result. Is this not suppose to change this?
I had the same problem but got it working today, all I did was change it back to default which is the bottom left save then pick top right position again save and it worked. I have a feeling a few of the settings are bugged. The FPS limit I set to 120 to stop my pc melting and the game trys to run 130+
Yes, me and two of my buddies play it. AI still borong even at expert but, Download Advanced AI mod and a game mode mod. Set your AI to aggressive or whatever you please. Prepare for the chaos lol (If you like going against AI)

Real Shame no gore at all, COH 1 and COH2 are the best in the series for those who play this game for first time try COH 1 and COH2 before playing this you'll see the lot of differences from atmosphere, graphics, destruction and many other things, its a step down.
Bought CO3 yesterday for PS5. Tanks travel through other vehicles. Soldiers will stand on BOTH sides of assigned cover. Jank galore. Uninstalled. Waste of $, imo. -Fwiw, played the first two on PC. Mouse and keyboard are, imo, necessary for control and any fun. /ymmv
The camera alone ruins this game without mods why do companies limit the camera so much its terrible also the game bug splats way too often once every hour or 2 .
80 euro for this state of the game i cannot recommend and here is why. 1. Bad audio, (no explosion sounds, walking stuka and tiger motor sounds, etc.). 2. Bullets go through buildings. 3. Terrible UI. 4. Terrible graphics, coh1 looks like a masterpiece to this. 5. Stats screen is bad. 6. Only 2 4v4 maps, and 3 3v3 maps. 7. Feels like an old mobile phone game. and most important of all, there is no coh atmosphere.

I loved the first one more than the second. It was a great game with much more steady learning curve. The addons/dlc for the first are quality too.

First thing I did when starting to play this game is try and split "reverse" keybind and "retreat" from R - havent found a way. Any ideas?
